BB Anthonys Combat Shorts
My husband really wants a pair to take on our hols but I've looked everywhere but can't find any... does anyone know where I can get a pair or something similar?

My boyfriend has 4 pairs of these in different colours/styles...3 were combat trousers he bought from army surplus stores and i cut them into shorts for him!! Its definitely the best idea; they are really cheap, obviously original because no one else will have the same pair and the fit is good because they are baggy all the way down as they were trousers!

We had thought about cutting down some trousers but I'm a bit wary as I'm not good with that kind of thing - I still get my Mum to sew on buttons! I suppose they're supposed to look rough and scruffy... thanks ShopaholicPrincess.

Might not be a problem for some of you ultra skinny minnies but the thing that is putting me off buying into the whole drainpipes tucked into boots look is that my current wardrobe of boots fit me nice and snuggly - apart from my calves there aint much room for anything other than a pair of 10 deniers!
So are we all hoping for a sudden emergence of boots on the high street with an extra wide leg? I mean how else does it all fit in??
I havent got extra large calves by any stretch of the imagination but its really putting me off a look that I was really looking forward to wearing??

The only thing i can suggest is try on lots of boots.
I haven't got large calfs, quite thin i'd say and i still find some boots tight:eek: It's a bit of a kafuffle but i'm managed to find a pair of teal suede boots so far that can have jeans tucked in :)
I tried on some topshop leather slouchy boots and they were quite spacious for tucking boots into, i was really surprised, the only thing loose on me at topshop:lol:

Maybe wear cropped trousers instead of full length ones. Less fabric to tuck in that way. As someone who struggles to find boots SLIM enough to fit, i really hope they don't start making boot even wider than they already do!

I also find it depends on the boot, the calf width can vary so much, you just need to try lots and lots of different pairs from different places, I find MS to be a bit bigger than average.

Just thought I'd say for those of you who helped with my outfit and asked how it went. I was SOOO shocked - I was totally convinced there was no chance so when she phoned me today I was absolutely gobsmacked.
I'm down to the last 2 now so I'm really pleased - only problem is the final interview is next friday and I'm supposed to be going to Switzerland for 2 weeks this saturday. Trying to see if I can fly back just for the day but it seems a bit excessive when there's at least a 50% chance I won't get it. Hoping they might let me have it after I come back but if not I think I'll have to try and get another flight 'cause the job is a fantastic opportunity.
Anyway, just wanted to let my well-wishers know!
Feel quite bad now 'cause I've been comfort-shopping since the interview 'cause I thought it had gone so badly. Oh well, I guess it can count as I-deserve-it shopping or something!
Will have to think up another outfit now :rolleyes: :lol:

def call them and tell them you are going to switzerland, but offer to fly back. chances are they'll re-arrange for you but at the same time be impressed that you offer. however, they may take you up on it, so be prepared, or tell them you'll fly back if you can arrange the flight as that leaves you a get-out if they call your bluff!

Topshop Blanchardstown - in the little stand with mishmash of braclets thrown into trays which is where you stand to pay for your goods - they had some black wooden bangles. Forgot to check the price, but it was 4 mid size (about 1/3 inch thick) black wooden bangles in a buy as 1 pack.
