the Frocky Horror Show:eek:
    Answer:
No-one else think this? My fave this year was one of those ballgowns which were fashionable when I was an undergraduate - all black velvet bodices and contrasting metallic taffeta makes the wearer look like a lampshade:eek:
    Answer:
where are the pics for it ??
from what I know of it though I'm not surprised that there are a few horrors ! (really want a nosey now)
    Answer:
    the lens broke:cool:
No seriously it was a mixture of "It's a summer dress so it must be evening wear right?" (plus black sandals and black stockings WITH toes reinforcers oooh!) and ghastly awful evening wear. I wore my DvF bluey/greyey snakeskin pattern chiffon dress and combat black sude slingbacks (for the grass) and my friend wore a very stunning Chinese red outfit from Monsoon and we were among the better-dressed. When I lived in Vienna/Berlin people always got opera wear right - shortish cocktailish and cute but you get a load of frights over here
    Answer:
its a shame because open air opera could be really lovely and moving.
there is something similar done in australia by a family who have a large station and part of it contains a rock formation like a natural amphitheatre and they have opera performances there a couple of times a year. I always wanted to go when I lived in Oz...oh well, without a helicopter it was a bit difficult to get to.

Loving the green for this season :yay:
    Answer:
I have the **** catalogue and there is some utterly gorgeous stuff. I wish it wasn't so expensive though:( I begrudge paying over £35 for a top.
    Answer:
I :throb: the Victorian style shirt..
    Answer:
i love the black oliver silk shirt dress, its 90 quid though i wouldnt be able to afford that atm... i love love love the frantic coat and the boho soho cap though - might get the cap! there's also a beaut batwing top.
trickster posted 2 coats last week or week after. yellow one and this above mentioned frantic coat.

well their prices are even MORE inflated when you translate them to euro :( If I were to get the coat I want, the velvet pants I want, and the 3/4 tops I want, it would cost me around 600 euro :(
Def going to go for the coat, but will have to take my time getting the rest.............. there's just too much nice stuff in the shops right now and I can't decide what to get first :o

    Same item different colours?
I've seen a gorgeous top that I'm looking to buy that will fit right in with the A/W victorian look. It's lace (I'll wear a top underneath; I'm not going for the prostitute look :D ), with long sleeves and a high collar, and tiny buttons fastening it down the back.
Trouble is, I can't decide between cream and black
I'm tempted to get both, but wonder if it may be overkill, especially as it's a rather distinctive item. What does everyone think? Should I pick one or the other?
    Answer:
I'd go black on the basis that:
    1) Black will be a good colour to have in your wardrobe for this season
    2) Black is kind to the complexion than cream
    3) Black will look great with a white or pale coloured vest top under it to show the pattern, as well as with a black vest - which you couldn't do with the cream
    4) Most of these tops are in cream, they're ten a penny at teh moment, so black will be a little more unusual.
    Answer:
i think you should get both. you will probably be wearing them with different outfits so it wont be over kill in my opinion
    Answer:
Just get both! I buy tops in diff colours all the time.
    Answer:
Get both - I am always getting items of clothing I like in different colours.

What to wear with this cardi?
1 Attachment(s) It's kind of a plum colour - quite neutral. I don't know what colour to put it with though. I'm trying to venture away from my black wardrobe (I've only got as far as brown) so all suggestions are greatly appreciated!
    Answer:
Cream would look good with it. Id put a pistachio green vest underneath it, really contrasting but in the same muted tone. Think that would look great.

    Answer:
OOOH I love that! Need a cardi for winter and love plum! Where's it from??
I'd wear it pretty much anything as long as the colour goes, cardis are so versatile! :)
    Answer:
Black, Green or Beige velvet trousers and a silk/satinish vest underneath and funky russian like belt!
Colours which may work are imho:
cream (agreeing with caramel!), beige, brown, pale pink and dark green! :)
    Answer:
    It's from Oasis, £35 / €50
