reflecting on this past year
Hi
this is not so much a fashion post, more a general take stock one.
I would assume im not the only one,but now and then i like to look through my old posts, just for a general nosyness i guess.
i find that in the past year so to speak i have grown up and have seen the light and got rid of "Hullo!"
ive had 4 tattoos and regret the 2 stars on my sternum, that i raved so much about.
I posted about my shitty life and hard times at home.I have since taken the advice of baggers amongst others and have moved into a wee flat, and hope to move further foward with my personal life next year.
i have realized that here hasnt made me spend more money on clothes,i just enjoy reading about them full stop!
i still particulary havnt fallen out of my box of jeans, pumps, converse, vests and cardies.
I do realize that although my weight limits a lot trends that i would like to wear, ultimatly i can still experiement being a size 16/18
and i have realized that i like getting into size 16 jeans and would like to aim higher now!
anybody else care to ponder and the like?

Well over the past year I found out who my here friends were. People I thought were my friends were unspeakably horrible to me when Blaise came on board. One fashion bagger I thought was my friend was a real bitch to me because she didn't like here and felt I was a traitor. She comes back under other names and has a pop at me now and then but it doesn't hurt me anymore. I learned not to trust everyone implicitly like I did before and that most heregers are lovely.
I was sad to not be fashion SCM anymore but Ms Leffie is brilliant - she lets me do little things to help without making me feel like I am invading her territory. She is also a brilliant SCM.
Fashionwise I have spent too much and bought too many heres. I have found that the tone on here has changed from general fashion advice to more consumerish purchase stuff and I am very suggestible so if people rave about something I want to rush out and buy it. Though that is not necessarily a bad thing - I think it really does help people make wise choices and not waste stuff. People on here are very honest and know their stuff so I trust advice I get on here implicitly. I have definitely learned to be more adventurous fashionwise and now I wear skirts and colour which I never did.
I also like the fact that some baggers having more money than others does not generate jealousy on the boards. Everyone rejoices in everyone else's purchases, whether they be from Primark or designer. I think the fact that Primark and Peacocks are discussed with the same seriousness as Marc Jacobs and Chloe is really fantastic. There are very seldom threads along the lines of 'how can you waste so much money on a .......'
Ooh that was long. Thanks for the year gone by guys!
Next year I look forward to hopefully being able to sell and swap on here again as I often wish we were all in the same place so that we could have swap sessions!

I also want to thank Toosh for (in 2004 anyway) introducing me to HKBL and for the baggers who got me hooked on lush.
And for everyone who sent me supplements and freebies this year and helped me with things I can't get in Sweden - THANK YOU!

sorry to hijack but wasn't Fairy Poppins the fashion monitor when the jobs were first dished out? I didn't imagine that did I?
Answer:
Retail therapy was the first fashion monitor. When she left I became Fashion SCM and Fairy Poppins was the Fashion cm. Then I left, then FP left. Now its Elle and Ms Leffie
Headband ideas...?

Headband ideas...?
Hi guys!
I was wondering if anyone had any advice (or pictures hopefully!) of some nice hair-up + wide head band combinations...
I'm starting work in a hospital in a few weeks and will need to have my hair up but was thinking about teaming this with a stretchy wide head band. Is this a big no no? How far forward or back should the band be? I have a side sweepy fringe, does this matter?
OH THE DILEMMA?!
Pictures which illustrate your ideas would be FABULOUS!
I was thinking something along these lines...
(But less glamourous, more everyday looking)
Answer:
1 Attachment(s) This one, if all of your hair needs to be tied up, then you can put the remaining in a pony.
Answer:
How about the thin plastic ones? I got one from Oasis in August for £3 :)
Answer:
Yeah I've got one of those too. Think I'll give that a try until I pluck up the courage to be overtly fashionable at work!
With the stretchy head bands, I prefer them to half cover my ears. I think I look silly with it behind, like a little girl.

You can adjust them, to get the look which you prefer.

Next Sale
Well, I didn't manage to get up at 5am but nevertheless I bought some really nice stuff from Next this sale. Good to see a store that always has a proper sale (instead of pulling out last years jumble sale items) :)
From next I got :-
Leather Coat (half price - £75) -
Court SHoes ( half price - £15)
Couple of skirts and 3 pairs of jeans.
Anyone else like this years next sale??
Answer:
I love those shoes!
I spent about £150 in the sale. I got...
Petite black smart trousers,
Petite jeans with stud belt,
Petite deep purple v-neck jumper,
another pair of Petite jeans,
smart wool jacket,
this georgous thing
green bag
both of these bags
And some jewellery, perfume, make-up bag, and a watch. :)
Answer:
Have Next been using the same model for the last ten years or is there some factory pumping them out someplace?
Answer:
The same model ...

Very true!
I'm so tired of shops pulling out jumble sale items that no-one has seen all year and trying to pass them off as sale items.
Atleast u can always rely on Next to put out most of their catalogue and at proper sale prices too!
This year I bought;
Black satin trim wrap top
Brown slouch check trousers
Brown slouch boots
Gold here
Silver clutch bag
Purple Metallic bag (after me saying I wasnt a bag person:lol:)
Purple earrings
Silver and pink necklace
Long beaded necklace
Quite a haul!

Topshop trouser sizing..
NO.5. ask :
Topshop trouser sizing..
Do topshop trousers come up small or did I just get fat?
My mooches are 12 and they fit fine (though I just got the new dark ones and had a bit of difficulty getting them fastened but I put that down to the fact they grow) I saw some nice black trousers from Topshop, got them (in a 12) and I can hardly get them on! (and they have a elastane % in them)
I have put weight on recently (I'm sure its wine related :o ) but not being able to get a size 12 fastened!!
I feel yuck now.
I'm not living at home ATM and there is no full length mirror here, I think if I was to see myself in one I'd die of shock or die vomiting! :yuck:
Answer:
I don't know if this applies to their trousers but the skirts from TS definately come up small. I'm a 10 in skirts in every single shop except from TS where I have to go up to a 12 so don't worry!:)

Answer:
thanks Lucia,
I must stress I'm not worried about the size on the label aspect of it, it's just I know I've put weight on and gone up to a 12 - but a 14
Answer:
Recently, I've found topshop trousers really tight but every other shop, I still take the same size. Go figure eh? It's annoying though as it makes me feel like I've put on weight when I haven't!
Answer:
I'm a 12. Topshop 12 trousers always fit me really well. But then they expand  I've never found them to come up small - but someone else said this on another threat??
