Aren't suede brushes fab?
I didn't even realise they existed until recently:lol:
I bought some boots from New Look and was considering taking them back. I just grabbed them as they were the last in my size and didn't realise until i got home that the suede looked a bit tatty.
So i bought a £3 jobby off ebay (wire on one side rubber on the other) and wow! The boots look perfect now:yay:
Highly recommend getting one if your suede shoes/boots look a little past their best:cool:
Answer:
I use my mums, i agree though it makes your boots look fab :)
Answer:
Steaming them (boots that is, not brushes) over a boiling kettle also works.
Answer:
omg how strange! i bought one just yesterday!

I've always wondered about these fellows....
New jacket
NO.2. ask :
New jacket
Hello,
Due to my finance inflicted pre christmas shopping ban I have discovered that I don't have enough jackets :( .
I have £120 vouchers to spend in All Saints, but they don't have any new stock in yet so I'll have to wait if I want something from there, so I'm thinking more TS / Warehouse / Zara prices - £100ish or less.
I don't really know what's fashionable for jackets for Spring, but it needs to be something I can wear straight away and not so wintery I'll give up on it by February.
So can anyone give me any pointers or suggest something they've seen that may fit the brief.
I would like a jacket rather than a coat and short or hip length at the very longest. I'm also enough of a fashion victim to put up with 3/4 sleeves in jan!

Answer:
There is a lovely jacket on the topshop website. Its wool but not too wintery and has a assymetrical front , it about £60 I think its on the website now. I think it might be the one caramel x wanted.
Definetly be able to wear it right through spring.
Its cream so I love it as I have a thing for cream and white clothes!!

Answer:
They do a short swingey version of my reiss one (with 3/4 length sleeves! ;) ) in black or silver or purple. It's very '60's vintage looking :)

I'd actually forgotten about that! I'm so fickle!!! Going to TS on Oxf St tomorrow so will have a look for it! I think I've gone a bit mad on jackets lately though!! Have bought 4 in the past 3 weeks!!
Mimi ..what's wrong? (The TS one comes in black too btw)
Going out tops
NO.3. ask :
Going out tops
Hello,
Expect a few more threads from me today as many important questions have been worrying me over the past fortnight!!
I took Mr Mimi out for the best Chinese ever last night as an extra 30th birthday mini celebration only to realise 5 minutes before we left the flat that I have hardly any going out tops at the moment. I have tons of drainpipes and my favourite two tops to wear with them are a chiffon leopard print halter that I wear without the halter done up - so kind of bandeau style and a pale pink long line assymetric bandeau with a huge bow on the bust, but I'd worn them both recently and the leopard print was a bit much for a Chinese.
So has anyone seen anything cute around that's not hideously expensive.. a long line black bandeau may be a good place to start...
Mimi x
Answer:
I am also in search of longer line tops (although in my case mainly to hide my Christmas belly :o ).
There was a nice one in **** sale which had a deep V at the front and back. It was jersey material and they had it in black and a very deep tealy-blue.
I would have tried it on only Mr PB had already reached the end of his very short shopping attention span and I coudln't face the huge Q either. May go back and try it on today though.
Answer:
Ooooh French Connection - haven't been in there for ages - I think they hadsome nice ruched vests with tiny buttons that are just my kind of thing - thanks for the recommendation!

100% Viscose!
NO.4. ask :
100% Viscose!
Does anybody know if you can dye 100% viscose with those dylon machine dyes? I can;t seem to get onto their website otherwise I'd look on there . . .
Answer:
I don't think so, it's just cotton and polycotton last time I looked.
Answer:
No, don't think dye works on sythetics.
Oh, actually maybe I'm thinking of the wrong thing? Is viscose sort of cottony? OK, here is a link and it says it's 'easily dyed':
link to geeky materials website
Answer:
I just remembered I had a box of machine dye in my cleaning cupboard. It says
Suitable fabrics: cotton, linen, viscose:yay:
Polyester/cotton mixes to lighter shades. Not for pure synthetics, wool, silk or special finishes eg dry clean only
Answer:
Managed to get onto their website and:
Dylon Machine Dye Instructions
· For use in automatic front loading machines only.
· Suitable fabrics: cotton, linen, viscose and polyester/cotton mixes. Lighter shades on polyester mixes because pure synthetics DO NOT pick up dye.
This is what it said in the first part of the on screen instructions. Hope this helps.:cat:
At bloody last!!
NO.5. ask :
At bloody last!!
Finally got to the sales today and it seems starting late has its perks after all.
Popped into NL and bought these in cream leather. They look wicked on and have teeny metal studs on the toe. Not in the sale but the price wasn't anthing to cry about so they still count as a bargain! Wanted the red ones too but they didn't have my size.
Also bought this black military jacket which fastens by hook and eyes and this grey wool fitted jacket - £30 for BOTH!!
I was MEANT to have them, I was gonna buy a brown blazer instead but saw these on a rail and thought these were just a must have! Actually I should have got that blazer cos it'd have only been a tenner!! Might dash back and get it later this afternoon if I can be bothered!
This is a better pic of the NL wool coat I bought for £15 just before christmas too.
Oh and this arrived from Ebay this morning. It's from Oasis. I think I'm running out of bag colours to buy now!!
Hmm now what to wear for my "date" tonight" with my new friend ...
