Do New Look leather ballet shoes stretch?

NO.1. Ask :
Do New Look leather ballet shoes stretch?
Got some black leather New Look ballet shoes, but the problem is, they feel a bit snug.
I think the next size up would be a bit big if i want to wear them with tights etc.
My question is, shall i keep the slightly tight pair - i.e. will they stretch? Or shall I just accept that their sizing isn't right for me?
thanks!
;)
Answer:
I had some like this from Topshop, i just wore thick socks in them (around the house) for a while to break them in :)
Answer:
I have to say that the last pumps I bought from there (not ballet ones - just suede pumps) were so small in my usual size they were unwearable. They didn't stretch over time so they ended up in the charity shop...
Answer:
I have the silver lace up ballet pumps from New Look and they have stretched but they are soft leather - if that helps.
Answer:
I find NL a bit of a hit or a miss when it comes to their sizing and how much the shoes stetch.
I have a pair of black flats which are slightly tight and have never stretched at all whereas on the other hand I have a pair of pink flats which have now stretched so much they are almost unbearable except when wearing slipper socks or something ridiculous like that:lol:

    Hi there,
I'm looking for some tips form any Bristol baggers out there. I'm thinking of going to Bristol for the weekend for my birthday in April and was wondering if anyone could tell me what the shopping is like there. Also, nightlife. Whats it like? Where should I go? Any suggestions for cheap City Centre hotels would be appreciated as well.
Sorry it's a bit O/T but shopping is fashion related - isn't it?
    Thanks very much
    Answer:
    Hello
    I'm a bristol bagger!
What kind of thing are you after? There's Cribbs Causeway (on the outskirts of Bristol) which is a huge Mall with all the regular chain stores. Then there's Park Street, which has more skater/indie/outdoorsy shops as well as a Karen Millen, All Saints and Reiss. There's also Broadmead in the centre, which imo is a bit of a dive and is currently going through a major renovation. It's ok, but not that thrilling and smells of burgers.
I'd recommend going to Bath shopping, loads of little lanes to explore and is much prettier to look at, an altogether nicer experience! It's easy to get to from Bristol by train, only about 10 mins away.
As for nightlife, what kind of thing are you after?
No idea about hotels, there's the usual cheapo travel lodge type places centrally, but I've never stayed there so can't tell you what they're like.
Hope that helps with the shopping a little bit...

  • Weekend ?!?!

    NO.3. ask :
    Weekend ?!?!
    I cannot believe nobody's done it yet.....!
So, what are we all up to this weekend, and what fabulous outfits will accompany us?!
After work I am meeting my mum for lunch so will keep what I have on, and then going to enrole in a Holistic/Alternative Therapy class!! I'm trying new things for the new year !!
Tonight I am going swimming!(my first step back into being healthy, haven't been for about 12 months!), and then out for dinner with my best friend. We then have to make a quick appearance at my cousins 18th and then probably out somewhere for drinks. I will probably wear a pair of my grey drainpipes, red suede high heel round toe ankle boots, black vintage long sequin waitcoat(with nothing underneath! *cough* hussy *cough*), lots of long gold chains and usual bangles, cream fitted military blazer and red and black skull print scarf.
Tomorrow will be spent having a lazy day mincing about with MrSP so some yoga pants and a vest around the house or some drainpipes(do i wear anything else atm?! ), big red snuggly cashmere jumper and dark grey flat boots if we pop out.
Tomorrow night will be much of the same - I'm cooking MrSP a lovley meal to make up for being such a moody cow this week so something comfy but with a bit of effort on my hair and face so i dont look totally slobby and hideous!
Sunday MrSP is working in the morning so a lovaly lie-in on my own with Sunday morning tv, a walk to the shop to buy the paper and then probably lunch at my parents. So blue drainies tucked into chestnut Uggs, some vest/tee and snuggly long chocolate cardigan with big buttons.
Then in the afternoon MrSP and I will probably visit an antique fair to pic some bits up(for me and to sell on ebay). And then a takeaway and dvd at night.
So a lovely relaxing weekend doing much of nothing, except for tonight which could get messy!
    Looking forward to it !:)
    Answer:
    Sounds good! :great:
Low-key weekend for me, so the most adventurous thing will probably be jeans and a hoody :(
Decided to get real about my money so unfortunately this means glittering nights out may be a distant memory for a while!
Oh well. I guess that's what the Asda booze section was made for :p
    Answer:
I'm going out tonight with some mates so i'll probably be wearing:
    *Long shorts
    *Stillettoes
    *Opaque tights
*High neck sleeveless top (with the scarf attached at the neck)
    *Shimmery gold, sparkly belt
    *Gold Bangles
    *Metallic bag
Not sure what i'm doing tomorrow night and Sunday but i'll just decide, when the day comes.
    Answer:
Nothing much here really, isn't January depressing?
    Parents are away though:yay:
Will probably be car washing, dog walking and cooking. Oh and how can i forget, OH and I have the last 3 episodes to watch from the Series 1 Part 1 set of Lost:yay:
I think we then plan to work through some of the dvd's he got for xmas so will probably just be wearing slob out clothes - Joggers, Mooch jeans, comfy primark skinnys with slouchy jumpers and of course uggs!
    Have a good weekend everyone!

I am all too familiar with this!
Tonight I am going to the gym for a workout and a swim, then Mr Shiny and I will no doubt succumb to something naughty to eat and fall asleep in front of a DVD  So just pyjamas and cosy jumpers for me!
Saturday's Mr Shiny has his son (and his stupid berluddy ex won't let me meet him  ) so I will have a lovely lie in and then do the much needed housework, probably wearing a dressgown and a face mask. Oh the glamour!
Saturday night we're having friends over for a takeaway and wine, so will probably wear my new flat pointy black OTK Office boots with my black belted sweater dress and opaques.
Sunday we are going shopping (but Mr Shiny doesn't know it yet :p ) and possibly viewing a couple of houses if the estate agent ever gets back to me.... will be wearing grey skinnies, my new boots again and a black cowl neck jumper.
Have a great weekend everyone :)

  • Making your own charm necklace

    NO.4. ask :
    Making your own charm necklace
Hi, I know we had a thread about this a little while back. I am attempting to make charm necklaces for my mum and mother in law and wondered how I can get the charms on little rings so I can put them on a plain necklace?
I'm guessing I need to get the rings from somewhere and then use a special tool? You can probably get a jewellers to do this but not sure how much it would be. I want them loose on a chain rather than all permantly connected if you know what I mean!
    Answer:
they are called jump rings and you can get them from any jewellery menders. call first though as they might have to order them. then the jump ring would be soldered to the charm. fab for putting on a silver chain as you can swap them around according to your mood or outfit! my charm necklance is from scarlett jewellery :)
    Answer:
Thanks blondange. I don't think I'd have to have them soldered as the charms I have got have little rings on already. I need bigger rings to go through them so I can then put them on the chain. I guess they need to be kind of open so I can then put them on the chain and close the gap if you know what I mean!
    Answer:
Yeah the jump rings (i think they come in a range of sizes) are split so with small pliers they can be prized open and then closed. you would have to have them soldered as they can re-open if theres a charm pulling on it. think jump rings are a few quid and soldering charges are around £3 or less I think!
    Answer:
You want split jump rings - they don't need soldering and work like a keyring. Like these:

I really like the idea of using lobster clasps too - like the charms here:

'THE' boots have disappeared from the Office website!
Does this mean they have gone out of stock? I've had an order confirmation but I've checked on the website and that doesn't guarentee that have the stock.
    I NEED those boots
    Answer:
    I don't know :boohoo:
Hopefully it's because they need to update the website to show what sizes are available:confused:
    Pretty please don't say we won't get them - i'll cry!:boohoo: :(
    Answer:
I've just checked my online banking and although they haven't taken the money out, the discrepancy between my balance and my available balance is exactly £72.50 which has to be Office... so maybe it's not bad news after all?
Otherwise it's a trek into Birmingham to see if they have them in the shop
I can feel tears and a tantrum coming on :stomping feet smiley:
    Answer:
Yeah me too :( If you do go to Birmingham and they have them could you hold me a tan pair in a size 6?
I can then get OH to get them. Although i'm not sure what the refund policy is at office? Isn't it exchanges only in store?
    Answer:
    Course I will :)
Not sure about in-store returns, I know they exhange or refund mail order items
