please help...
ok, i haven't got any fashion sense, and i haven't got a great wardrobe either but here's the thing.
i'm going out tonight, and planning on wearing my jeans and some sort of top. As it's freezing outside i was going to wear my demin jacket (cos i'm getting soft in my old age). Thing is, my jacket is the same colour as my jeans (dark blue). would this look ok, or would it look stupid?
Answer:
I personally think denim and denim together is not a good look, and even denim which is the same colour can make you look like an extra from Bewitched (the band "c'est la vie") Have you got any onther jacket or even a cardie you could wear instead? :nurse:
Answer:
oh hang on I think I read it wrong, sorry! If the jacket isn't denim then wear it! Its better to be warm definitely! :)
Answer:
no, that's what i was afraid of! god forbid i don't want to look like them!
the only jacket i have other than that is a rainproof walkers jacket!!
think i'll have to brave it and get ill!! :(
Answer:
Have you got anything that you could layer up with? Cardigans, pashminas etc?
It's freeeeezing outside and you need to be snuggly and warm, at least until you get indoors again :)

Inspiration for the new year! *Lots of Pics*
I used to love the old inspiration thread that used to be here, but thought we could start one for the new year?!
I want to *try* to be a bit more sophisticated this year... not sure how well it's going to go, but I'll try!
Here are some of my inspirations... Just a few mind :p
Lets see everyone elses...:p
Answer:
lalasa the red dress and white suit are positively *scrumptious*
Where did you get those pics from?
Not got any pics but this year I would like to develop my own style, use accessories to my advantage and possibly stop colour-co-ordinating every single outfit!

Answer:
Gorgeous pics!
I like the casual one with the cropped black jacket and longline white tee for daywear, that's just my kind of thing!
I'm going to go hunting for cropped jackets, seriously bored of wearing the same shapes/colours!
Answer:
Oh dear, am I the only one sad enough to have to loads of pics?!
Lucia, I always try to colour co-ordinate... Had never thought about not! The pics are from everywhere really.... I could never afford most of it, but then I have an idea of what I want and can try to find similar :)
I'd also love to learn to make a few things, have just started knitting, so might try to learn how sew properly too...

Storing heres
NO.3. ask :
Storing heres
How do you store your heres?
I know this has been discussed before but I can find any threads, so I thought I'd start another one.
My bags are just chucked in the top of my wardrobe which I hate cos Lots are leather and I don't want them ruined.
Has anyone got a good system so they are easily accssessable? (sp? )
Answer:
Most of mine are in a big deep cupboard dedicated only to heres and I can't be bothered with dustbags.
Answer:
Maybe get some plastic shallow under bed boxes and put them under your bed or on top of your wardrobe?
Nursie bought some cheaply from tescos (can be seen in her shoes storage thread)
I have something similar to this which i put my shoes and heres in
Answer:
Stuffed with paper and in their dustbags.
The cheap evening numbers are hung on the chest of drawers nob.
Answer:
stuffed with old shrunken sweaters and in their dustbag in a cupboard i can barely open the door to without a mountain of stuff crashing on me :o
Green knee high boots
NO.4. ask :
Green knee high boots
OK fashion baggers, some of you may have seen the dark emerald green knee high boots from Miss Sixty in this month's Cosmo. Well, as Bibbity pointed out a while ago, NL have something pretty similar, and I am rather tempted :D They're the aforementioned emeraldy green, can be worn straight or slouched (look better that way), have a high, fairly sturdy slim stack heel and a cuff around the top.
But have spent far too much money already in the sales (bad g_k, baad g_k), I'm considering them very carefully before parting with thirty five hard earned pounds!
Principally, I'm not sure how wearable they would be. I think they'll be quite hard to make part of an outfit, if you see what I mean - unless they're accessorised well and all the colours are chosen carefully, they could just end up looking like a pair of high-heeled wellies! Now I can think of a few ways to wear them:
1) Dark denim skirt with magenta or red (I know, but I think the colours will just work!) jumper/coat, green here
2) All black outfit; say black swirly skirt with a batwinged black poloneck, vivid pink or gold here/belt
3) With jewel colours - say a purple wrap dress or a midnight blue short jersey dress with a purple velvet jacket and a metallic here
4) Possibly also with something brown, maybe teamed with something gold, but that would need some care...
But that's all I can think of, and if I can only wear them with a handful of outfits, then I'm not getting them. So does anyone have (a) any other suggestions for outfits, (b) compelling reasons why I should/shouldn't get them, (c) any other thoughts?
Oh, and thanks for wading through all of this - sorry, I seem rather garrulous this evening...

Answer:
Those outfits sound fab... far more than I could have thought of.
Personally, I'd wear them with every all black outfit that I own (which is lots) as I tend to wuss out of wearing lots of colour, but that's me being unadventurous. But I think it's nice to have one splash of colour/'focus' for an outfit and the boots would do that to so many outfits.
IMHO I think the fact that liked the Miss Sixty boots and have now found a version for £35  is reason enough to buy them.
If you don't then you will kick yourself later on .... and surely if they can be worn straight or slouchy then they actually qualify as two pairs of boots for the price of one?! ;)
Answer:
your boots sound lovely:) :)
Answer:
OK, thanks girls, I'll be outside NL at nine tomorrow morning!!! Love that reasoning, shinyaholic ;)
I am *so* bad and mr g_k is going to despair of me

Just wish i actually did look like one of them:lol:
Answer:
I think it's based on face mapping though tiny
Answer:
Heh, very interesting. I've used a similar site before where it also tells you what percentage nationality you are judging by your facial features, has anyone else ever used that?
I'm a bit skeptical about this one because it just matches me to a random celebrity pulling the same expression/in the same pose! Wtf, Greta Garbo?! :D
