Earmuffs
NO.2. ask :
Earmuffs
Black ones. Specifically for skiing.
I'm off in a few weeks and I'm really thinking of buying some. I'm not always cold enough to warrant a hat but the one thing I do suffer from dreadfully is earache from the icy winds on the slopes and I need to keep my ears covered from the wind.
I think they might look quite cute with a pair of big black sunglasses.
What think you?
Answer:
I've been wearing black ear muffs anywhere this winter. I look damn cool doing it too
My thoughts re: skiing - the top of your head will not be covered which is where you lose the most heat. I've only managed to ski in America (NH) at the VERY end of the season without a hat. But since you can handle that - go for it :yay:
Answer:
I've been wearing earmuffs everywhere too, and I love them! You might be better off with a hat though.
Answer:
hmmm earmuffs rock and my ma just bought me new ones which she's posting. however, at this time of year a hat should be worn whilst boarding! you'll die if you're in a sudden snowfall! also - earmuffs have a tendency to not be on too firmly and they'll get lost down there with that lonely ski stick that always seems to be amongst the trees!
Answer:
Oh no, I rarely wear a hat skiing. I'm super warm blooded and I get hot very quickly. I'm aware of the loss of heat etc but it's just the way I prefer to be on the slopes.
So earmuffs are cool then is the general concensus?
shoe grips
NO.3. ask :
shoe grips
I've recently got some shoes which have no grip on the sole at all, which for me isn't the best idea (they're going out shoes, and I have trouble staying on my feet after a couple of drinks even with the best of footwear )
I have a vague memory of someone mentioning that you could get grip put on the bottom of shoes, is this right? If so, how effective is it, and also how much does it cost roughly?
Thank you :)
Answer:
you can get rubber soles put on, half soles are enough for heels and are usually around £7 or so and they work well for me.
Answer:
thanks! I couldn't remember 100% if they existed or not  so just wanted to check before incase I made a fool of myself infront of the cobbler
Answer:
yeah i'm taking my boots in tomorrow after my horrific fall down some outdoor stairs! they'll need to fix the heel as well as the plastic comes through from the heel hitting each stair as i flew down. sob. however, 16 hours sleep last night fixed my aches and pains thank goodness!
shoe grips are a godsend if you don't want to be an accident statistic i'd say!
Answer:
Oh Sazemoo  you poor thing! Glad to hear you're better though hun and your shoes are now having much needed TLC!
They sound a great idea! My mum just recently bought a lovely pair of knee high flat boots but they have a totally flat sole, I don't mean to sound a complete tube but are these grips - as it would suggest - corrugated or are they just flat coverings? I had to hold her steady as she walked over wet cobbles last night! I think they'd be perfect for her boots.
Ebay at this time of year
NO.4. ask :
Ebay at this time of year
Hello stylish ladies, I need a bit of help from Ebay experts.
I'm moving house at the end of the month and have loads of stuff I want to get rid of/ebay. Was wondering whether to put it on now, or wait - thought there would probably be a bit of a post-Christmas dip as everyone will be skint, but then there's the bargain hunters who might be looking round sale time.
Whaddaya reckon?
:)
Answer:
Miss Sweetcheeks started a thread like this the other day :)
I would say if you are selling winter stuff list it now because come late Feb people will be thinking of spring wear.
If it's spring summer stuff then wait til late Feb/March :)
ETA: Actually might be worth ending it around the end of this month when everyone has their first pay day;)
Answer:
Sorry, should have searched first  , have been meaning to ask peeps for ages.
Good idea re payday, will take a look at other thread then:o

NO.5. ask :
