O/T Things you wish you had known 10 years ago...
Completely stolen idea from another forum, but what have you learnt now that you wish you'd known (or done, or listened to!) before? Fashion related or otherwise!
Not sure I can justify giving any advice per se, as I would've been eight 10 years ago  but it seemed like an interesting thread, and certainly very useful to me :o
Answer:
Fashion related? I wish I had known that only a tiny percentage of women have supermodel proportions and you don't have to look like a baby giraffe to wear cool clothes. I feel like at 5ft 11 and around 9.5 stone (like I was 10 years ago) I should have been far more confident than I was. I was so hung up on having boobs and hips that I didn't make the most of the great figure I had.
Answer:
I was going to post something similar to TheBlonde. I wish I'd known 10 years ago that I had a fabulous body that men loved.....even if slim waif looks were in fashion. I also wish I'd been confident so I'd have worn more form-fitting clothes that actually suited my figure. As it is I tried to disguise my curves wearing 'classic' (read that as mumsy) items which 'good' girls wore in the small-minded city/social clique I was in....so I just looked fat when I was really a size 6-8 with big knockers.
Answer:
I second what TheBlonde said - about making more of yourself and having more confidence to show off your figure.
I was probably more worried about what i was wearing being in fashion 10 years ago (i was 19 then), but now i feel far more confident with my own style, and hopefully look better for it.
Non-fashion related, if i went back 10 years, i'd say yes to more things. Again it relates to confidence i think. My biggest learning point is that people really don't care about mistakes you make and aren't scrutinising you. So just be yourself, pursue your interests and loves and generally people will love you for it (or at least let you get on with it!).
Answer:
Very true!
Don't have to be fashion related at all.
Have stolen lots off this other site to keep as a reference, may post some later, but I like this one...

Magic Knickers problem!!!

Magic Knickers problem!!!
Hi guys,
I bought two pairs of MS Magic Knickers yesterday, the thong type ones. Anyway, I am a size 14 and i bought that size but all they do is squeeze my flab over the top and out the legs?! Not exactly a flattering silouette is it?? even though they flattened my tummy!!
Does anyone else use these and if so should i buy the next size up or will they then simply not work??? or are there better ones out there i should try??
They are only for everyday work trousers and jeans i want them not for any skimpy dress or anything??
Confused??!!!!
Magic xx
Answer:
as far as I know, most do this I think :( as the fat has to go somewhere? I think the proper magic knickers might be better, but the ones which go right from the knees to under the boobs  are meant to be best I think.
I think Spanx are meant to be quite a good brand too, but other baggers might be able to help more

Answer:
In India Knight's book The Shops she mentions this problem with lots of hold em in pants, and goes on to advocate a pair that apparently don't, by Nancy Gantz called Bodyslimmers. At time of printing she said they were available in harrods, debenhams, house of fraser and from www.undercoverexperience.co.uk, although I haven't actuall checked and am just quoting from the book, sorry, but hope it helps :D

stop my new boots hurting me!
NO.3. ask :
stop my new boots hurting me!
earlier in the week i bought a gorgeous pair of knee high boots from hobbs and am wearing them today for the first time.
the leather which is near my ankles, which rucks slightly as you walk/flex your foot, is digging in and hurting me - any ideas what i can do? it's on the inside of the boots, which is also where the zip is.
i can't wear thicker socks as they are already quite a snug fit. :(
Answer:
could you perhaps put the boots near a radiator overnight? I've heard that that can soften leather, making it more easier to wear (thus if you might be able to stretch it a bit? Or maybe a plaster over the sore spot?)
Answer:
I had that problem with some Next boots last year. They were quite a loose fit though so I shoved a few cotton wool pads between my ankle and sock to give some padding. The boots stopped rubbing after I'd worn them a few times. Not much help if you don't have much room though...
Answer:
i had that problem with some boots, basically i've made sure everytime i#m not wearing them i've got a rolled up issue of elle or vogue in it! thick enough magazines to kinda stretch the ankle out, whilst still keeping the boot in shape
Answer:
You could pad them out and invest in some boot trees and see if that helps...
Do you like this dress

Matalan undies!
Got this cream and peach set for £9! I've never bothered looking at their sets before but will be in there every month now for that price!!
It's a perfect fit too! I'm very impressed! They had some very cute sets in there. Shame I couldn't get rid of the perv who kept walking back and forth watching me pick them out!
Great idea - moving the underwear AWAY from womenswear and right next to Menswear
Answer:
wow, such a great bargain - very pretty!
Do you have to be a cold holder or something though to shop in matalan? :uzzle: Theres one in my home town but I've never bothered to go!
Answer:
Totally agree!
I bought 2 sets for £9 total in the sales - one's black and sheer with a zebra print type pattern on (very subtle!), and the other set's black with white polka dots and bright pink edging and shoes and heres sewn on.
I didn't see those you bought, they're lovely.
Ohara you need to sign up for a card, but I'm not really sure why.
Answer:
You used to have to pay a pound for card on your first visit, not sure if it's the same now?
Very pretty girlie set caramel:girllove:

Nope. I don't have a card and I've never seen anyone hand one over at the till on the 2 occasions I've been in there previously
