Returning internet purchases - is this legal?
I recently purchased some maternity wear (sale items) over the net and they have arrived and are not suitable. The company is stating that reduced good cannot be returned or refunded. Is this legal, I have never heard of this before? Until you have seen the product in real life you can't ascertain quality or fit. Can anyone help? Cheers in advance.

If you had bought them in a bricks and mortar shop, they are not legally obliged to give you a refund.
However, buying on the internet is different - it comes under the distance selling legislation. I'm pretty sure that companies have to offer a 7 day returns period.

hi guys i need some tips! Ive just got this goregous cream cord skirt from ted baker in the sale and iv already got a really nice slightly off the shoulder brown fine knit top that i wanna wear with it out on saturday. However i dont know what kind of boots to wear with it!!!! i have no idea please help, the skirt is fairly short and i only have black knee high leather boots which are all wrong but i dont know wot would look good! any ideas much appreicated! xx

I got some lovely brown suede boots in Clarkes that sound perfect for that outfit. The wedge ones were €120 and the flat ones were €100. They had embriodery at the top and were knee length.

I have a cream cord mini from miss sixty that I haven't worn for ages, but used to wear it with a pair of tan boots I got from faith, also some flat suede casual tan boots for during the day.

I normally wear a 36" in TS jeans but seeing as my mooches are always far too long and rip and tear at the bottoms I thought I'd do the sensible thing and buy 34' ones!
I've got them home and tried them on and they are *barely* long enough! :mad: Yet the 36'' ones are FAR too long, if I buy those again I'll wreck them, even if I wear them with heels. Now these new ones are no good to wear with heels because they''re too short!! GRRRRRR!
Anyone think the sizings are way out in that place sometimes?

Was a few years back now, but I once bought a pair of ts jeans that claimed to be 32". They seemed longish but I could wear them with heels okay (which I normally can't in 32s), but a friend bought the same pair and had to get them taken up as she was just that bit too short for them.
When she got them back the tailor told her they had measured in at 33 and a half inches :rolleyes:
I wouldn't be surprised if it happened often, I vary so much in leg length in there. These were at least 'fashion' jeans (ie. only available in one length), not the regular ones that come in all sizes. Get your tape measure out ;)

yep. at 6" tall, i find that id have to wear 20 cm heels in order to fit tall trousers, yet all 34" trousers are too short. RIDICULOUS!!! i feel your pain.

Yeah, my mooches are 34" and ripped etc because they're long, yet my rizz jeans from there are 34" and are too short for me now! (might be more to do with the washing though because they fit much better when I first got them.)

duuno how the pattern on the dress wil go with the patterned tights - but suppose it could look fine if the rest of the outfit is simple - the shoes you are wearing will help as they arent too overpowering - and some simple jewellry too.

hello everyone, i was just wondering if i could pick your brains...
ive seen an amazing pair of "going out" shoes, usually im not a shoe buying person if i can help it (size 7 - 8 i wish there was a foot shrinking diet!) but these shoes are great. they are open toed, stilleto type heeled and black and they have a thick black ribbon as an ankle strap. Ive heard conflicting stories about ankle straps (eg: dont wear them if your legs are short/do wear them if your legs are short) ive got shortish legs, they arent thin but they are fat they are just sort of average. I really like these shoes but want to set the record straight once for all (with your help)

try them on and see, but imo they do 'shorten' the length of your legs, and if the strap is quite wide, even more so. and if your legs look shorter, in turn it will make the look chunkier.

It's one of those things which could go either way, so I think you've just got to try it :) Ankle straps on me look awful but similary, they can look amazing on some people - really making legs stand out. In a worst case scenario, you could just wear them with trousers anyway :cool:

but can look fantastic on others, tricky one.
