Grandad top

NO.1. Ask :
Grandad top
Helllo delurking here.
Just wondering if any of you knew where i could buy a grandad top. I have no idea what they're actually called, but here goes a lousy description:
Its basically a sleevless jumper, preferably tight, with a v neck. I saw a girl wearing one today which had varied stripes of grandad pattern along it, but also have some beads sown into it, which i thought looked really good, and less old fashioned.
So any ideas where its from, or where i could buy one similar??
Thank you very much:) :) :) :) :)

    Petit Jeans
    Hello Everyone!
This is the first time i've been onto the Fashion discussion board, so, sorry if you have recently had this as a topic - i've had a look through the pages, but can't see anything!
I have real problems buying jeans... and was wondering if anyone can give me any tips!

I'm abit on the short side..... I'm 5 feet tall to be exact! If i buy jeans on the highstreet in the petit section they are too short when i wear small heels, and "normal" peoples jeans are much too long, even with a small heel. The next problem i have is that I am a size 12 waist/hip/bum, but, more like a 14 thigh. This creates an obvious problem... fit on the tigh - too big on the waist, hips and bottom!
I tend to buy all of my clothes from Next, but because of my problems with jeans have taken to wearing casual combat type trousers every evening and weekend, and i'm getting fed up now!
I don't pretend to be the most fashionable and up-to-date person, but i'm getting desperate for a pair of jeans which fit properly - does anyone have any suggestions?
(Sorry - that turnt into abit of a rant and moan!!)
    Cheers, Jen
    Answer:
Welcome to the fashion board Jen :)
The only thing I can suggest is to do what a lot of us do, have a few pairs for day with flats and then have others for night - and maybe even some inbetween for a small heel (I do this, I have pairs three different lengths)
I've never tried them but everyone here recommends Oasis for really good fitting jeans (even when none of the others shops fit well) if you could get them to fit well on your thighs and waist I'd then go and have them taken up either at a dry cleaners or find a tailor, it doesn't cost much, I'm 5'5 but still have to do this.
If you found a pair that fit well it's worth buying two pairs and then getting them taken upto two (or three) different lengths...
    Answer:
I agree about Oasis jeans. I got a pair for Xmas they are the most comfortable jeans I have ever worn. Also HM and Gap do really flattering jeans usually come in various lengths.
Look for stretch jeans as they are most likely to give the best fit. As for the length I usually turn mine up either hand-sew the hem or my Nan does them up for me on her sewing machine. I'm 5'3" so a bit of a shorty too I have a few shorter length pairs then a few longer length ones too for wearing with heels. If you can't get to a tailor or are worried about turning them up yourself then this is probably the best option.

    Answer:
i have the same problem - i'm a thunderthigher. i go for the mooches in topshop to solve the problem though even then they're still tight... i do get all mine in topshop though. they're all slightly diff sizes so take a load into changing room and play around.
i must go check out oasis now :D any excuse!

    Me again! :o
For those in the know, how well does the sizing come up? Is a size ten ACTUALLY a size ten??
    Thank you
ETA: Ooh I meant is a medium really a ten size!
    Answer:
I think it comes up a little on the small side IMHO:)
    Answer:
I'm a size 10 and my Abercrombie trackies are a size 'small', they fit me perfectly, but do go baggy after wearing!
Mind you, I'm not *100%* certain they arent fake...I think they're real, but I got them from a market so can never be sure!
    Answer:
I'll check my sizing on my hoodies and get back to you hun :)
    Answer:
    Hi AMP
I wear a lot of abercrombie stuff and I wear a size small in their tops (I'm a size 8.)
Their bottoms seem to be a bit bigger than the tops as all the skirts / trousers I have are a size xs, but the extra smalls tops are too small for me.. and I haven't got much up top!!

    NO.4. ask :
What do you wear to bed?
I've been sorting out my wardrobe this week, and one thing that has sprung to mind is the state of my nightwear  I have one pair of 'ok' PJs, but the rest is skanky old tshirts etc :o Nudity isn't an option for me due to living in uni halls/regularity of nightime fire alarms
what do you tend to wear?
    Answer:
pyjama bottoms - either MS or Calvin Klein with either white vests (the ones that have gone a bit grey or shrunk a bit!) or long sleeved teeshirts, usually old Gap or Next ones. I always wear socks as well :o - either cashmere bed socks or very thick old ski-ing socks. Yes, that's right - i am a goddess of the night! :D
    Answer:
I have just got some new PJs in the sale at Next (£10). It is a three piece - so, pj bottoms, vest top and a little shrug/cardie thing. A bit like this (the third in from the right) but in purple/cream as the main colour.
Although as it gets warmer i usually end up in shorts of some sort and a vest.
Can't go naked - it just feels weird! :o
    Answer:
Well, tonight I'm already wearing my red imitation-silk pjamas which were £6 from Primark. I live with my hubby, but don't really like sleeping in the nude or just in underwear either due to the potential night time emergency thingy as well- am also in university halls.

    Jumper dress recommendations please!
Can anyone point me in the direction of a nice Jumper dress? Im 5ft8 so cant be too mini as want to wear with opaques as well as with jeans etc and would prefer a fine knit rather than a chunky one! I havent been able to find many IRL after seeing lots in mags (but cant remember where!)
    Thanks in advance!
    xx
    Answer:
Jane Norman had some nice ones and Warehouse :)
    Answer:
I have a lovely round neck one from Oasis that's a finer knit one.
Was also eyeing this one up from Warehouse....

It's under the knits section of the website www.warehousefashion.com on page 3 :)
    Answer:
There are none in my local Warehouse or Oasis Sadie! Im sure there were but must have all gone :(
    Answer:
I got a long-line jumper the other day from Primark, I wore it out on saturday with tights underneath and it was an alright length, but I'm only 5 ft 4".
It was only £8, v-neck, black, fine-knit, really lovely.
You could get a bigger size and use a belt or a scarf to tighten it round your waist? I think they get a lot longer each size you go up.
I used a gorgeous leopard print scarf thingy.
    Good luck!
