O/T Fundraising ideas
I'm doing this thing where I raise £2400 for a charity over two years, and at the end of it we go to Australia for three weeks (Also do charity/conservation work whilst there). Anyways my first deadline is £500 by March 25th and I'm getting a bit stuck coming up with some ideas on how to raise the cash? Does anyone have any ideas, they'd be much appreciated!
(Even if they wouldn't work right now, eg something for summer/xmas I can use them later as I have two years)
Thanks! :D
Answer:
Ask for it!
Seriously, if you aren't the shy type, you can just ask for the money. People are usually willing to give to a genuine and good cause. Start with family and friends, then try the neighbourhood. Make an appeal in your local newspaper - you could give an interview about what you're doing, what the charity does and how it will change lives. You could also do a mass e-mail and ask your friends/colleagues to forward it.
I had to raise money for a school project, and asking was the best way. You do get lots of "no,thanks" but enough "yes" to get the funds!
Good luck!

My friend's boyfriend raises money for the guide dogs as his dad is blind and it's very close to his heart.
He is a keen cyclist so has combined his love with raising money. He gets people to sponsor him doing treks around the lake district and once even went to france. He manages to raise about 2 grand usually.
What i'm trying to say is maybe combine it with an interest you have?
Also set up one of those sponsor pages as he gets a hell of a lot of money off that due to my mate rallying around all the forums we go on asking for their dosh:lol:
My dad did a sponsered snooker tournament and raised a grand in the 80's for the heart unit that treated me. Not sure if you are in to any type of sports at all but you could get each player/team to pay to enter and have a little prize at the end? Maybe get people to take bets on who will win and have a little prize for that too?
Answer:
lots of people use Ebay as a way to raise money for charity-would that be applicable?
How about organising a valentines night at your local?Rather than asking for money if youre doing it over 2 years?
Answer:
I've organised several charity fundraising events. How about
* a slave auction/auction of promises?
* calendar - although too much for your march deadline, you could do an academic one aimed for students? As its for a trip to Auss, you could perhaps bribe your friends to do (tasteful!) bikini/themed shots? but against a typical british scene? local photographers are often happy to do this for free, providing you cover basic costs
erm - quiz night? race night? many pubs have back rooms and tend to be willing to let you use these for free

Could someone please tell me how I can add more than one picture to the details section? I see it all the time on other listings, I just can't figure out how to do it...
Thanks :)
Answer:
When you add your first FREE picture, directly beneath that you have the options to add an additional 6 (I think) pictures. Just click on 'Browse' the same way you did to add the first picture.

Afternoon all,
Bought some of these yesterday and love em'! But, I was going to wear them with my knee high boots mostly, however there's a gap between the end of the shorts/top of my boots. Fashion no no? Shall I wear some tights?
