It's my 21st in April and my Mum's taking me to London to buy me a nice classic bag that I can keep forever (:D)
I know it's early but I'm so excited, I want to get an idea of what I'm looking for!
Not sure about the style yet, probably a tote, but I am dithering on the colour. My first thought was forest green as I love this and I have a lovely vintage coat in cream + green. But then I thought I might get bored of green in a few years and it would be nice to have it in a colour that will go with everything.
I was thinking maybe tan, but I'm not a huge tan lover? Love brown but then I can't wear it with black... :meh:
So any suggestions would be great!
Answer:
Wow! What a great present! Marc Jacobs bags are all very classic and come in a variety of colours. If you want it to last forever then maybe go for a brown, black or tan bag as they go with everything and never go out of fashion.
I'd suggest Selfridges bag department as a good place to search!
Answer:
Go for green, the right shades goes with loads of things and it will always be special because it's different.
Answer:
Ooh you lucky thing! I am bursting with ideas but will come back later as I have to run to a meeting. Just wanted to say that a classic here will be your friend forever!
Answer:

Thank you so much for all the time you spent helping me out. unfortunately, the thread was removed before I had time to print off all your great ideas. Yes, thats right, not locked, removed. I shall try and remember most of what you said.
I despair of this place at times, I really do. I thought asking friends for an opinion wasn't against the rules but it seems it is.

How to wear ballet pumps in winter?
    Hi,
Am delurking to ask a quick question. Hopefully someone can help.
Due to back problems am having to stop wearing heels and wear flats more.
I have quite a few pairs of ballet pumps that I wore during the summer but am not sure how to wear them now in winter. I know this is gonna sound stupid :o but do you wear socks with them or what??
    Thanks
    Answer:
I don't and can't wear socks with ballet pumps. For a start all my jeans expose part of my feet so it'd just look ridiculous IMO and my feet aren't cold in them anyway so it doesn't make any difference to me.
    Answer:
I find I tend not to wear my ballet flats for this reason, as I have chilly feet. I also find wearing socks with them that they slip off, so I think it is best to go bare footed. However maybe you could try skin coloured knee high tights or something similar, that way you would have a little bit of warmth there without having socks poking out :)
    Answer:
Patterned knee highs look fine I think, although I personally find that they make mine slip off!
If you wear them with skirts then you could wear opague tights as well.
    Answer:
I occasionally wear mine in this weather with socks. I just wear really bright lurex ones from Primark or TS so that they look like they are meant to be seen!

The ones that gave me so much grief trying to find...
    With flash
    Without flash

    Answer:

think I personally like the top ones best, but both are great
    Answer:
Both pairs are lovely, but I think I slightly prefer the first.
I must not buy any more shoes...just won another pair on ebay. :o
    Answer:
Is the first pair the shoes from Freemans ( I think) that were discontinued?
    Answer:
i really like both of them :) I love the shape of the first pair i want some now:rolleyes: :p

    Need a pencil skirt
does anyone know where I can get a black knee length pencil skirt in a petite size??
I have a nice chinese top and a corset which would go nicely with it.
Thank you very much in advance.
    Answer:
Topshop, DP's, Miss Selfridge....pretty much everywhere has them!!
    Answer:
I got a really great one in Reiss - black, slightly stretch so very comfortable, two small splits at the front and a panel, very forties and gorgeous on. Might be worth looking in the sale?
    Answer:
I find the skirts in Topshop, Oasis and Miss Selfridge don't really fit me as I have quite a small waist but big hips.
I haven't tried DP but I can't seem to see any.
I'm looking for quite a nice evening skirt.

Me too, hence the one in Reiss with the stretch is perfect!
