Red shoes for a wedding (red obsessives here!)
Hi gals,
I really don't like white shoes of any kind (except trainers) so I'm seriously considering wearing a pair of fabulous red shoes with my wedding frock....I think it would be fun - and a surprise!
However, I have to find these fabulous shoes - I'd really like ones with a bow on the heel.
Does anyone know any good shoe shops(Hampshire) or websites for glam shoes of this kind???? i think I'm going to need help tracking these little beauties down!

I wore some lovely pink suede kitten heels from LKB when I got married. :D Much prefer coloured shoes to white ones, plus you can use them afterwards too (mine look good with jeans in the summer). My dress was 3/4 length so you could see the shoes clearly, so I wanted them to be a light and pretty colour which didn't stand out TOO much. They went well with my pink roses! :marriage:

Having a big clearout and trying to find space in my cupboards so I can actually see what I have got! But, I am a bit lost regarding prices for things as I don't want to just give them away but also don't want to be unrealistic.
So, for unworn but untagged clothes from places like DP, George etc I am thinking £2-£3 per item
For worn slightly I guess 99p upwards?
How much should I expect for brand new red patent leather unworn driving shoes from Boden?
Is it worth doing it or is it more hassle than it is worth?

Yes, those amounts sound about right to me.
Boden stuff normally goes for quite good prices, especially unworn stuff or things that went out of stock quickly in the catalogue. You could try starting the shoes at about a fiver. If they were a popular style, the price should go up quite well.

Oh yes, if you have a dummy I'd photograph the clothes on that...they look much better than on the floor!
If that's not possible, make sure they're well ironed and hung neatly on a hanger, in good light and from several angles. I also find that being honest about marks/damage etc and including close ups is always appreciated.

1 Attachment(s) I need (ok, ok, I want) some new summer shoes to wear by day. Am going to the Miami Music Conf in March, and there will be lots of parties round the pool by day, but I don't want to wear my flipflops as am a shortarse.
There's not much out at the moment, but I found a few Michael Kors pairs on NAP.
What do you think? For dancing/lounging by day...?

I am trying desparately to find somewhere that gives professional makeovers so I can treat my girlfriend as a present. I've posted in the Beauty forum, but seeing as I'm hoping to cover the fashion element too, I was hoping someone here would be able to help.

I don't know of anywhere that does the whole thing, (ie makeup and clothing) but one way of doing might be to arrange a makeover for her at a beauty counter in a deptartment store (somewhere like clinique, etc etc all do them, some are free and some you book and pay for and get the money back on any items you buy) and then also book her an appointment ith a personal shopper in the same department store and perhaps give her a budget?
Places like debenhams might be a good place to start, Fenwicks if you have one near you? It would take a little more organising but its an option :)

Ooops, just read your original p[ost now and see you had that idea already! Can't recommend anywhere personally but I do agree, your best bet is to do everything seperately, but many big stores will have makeup and hair under the same roof as clothes.

No use as far as complete makeovers go, but how about doing something like booking her an appointment at a MAC (etc) counter to get her make up done, plus throwing in some vouchers, and then taking her somewhere that has style advisers (Topshop springs to mind, but possibly departments stores too) and leaving her in their hands with some more vouchers?

Yeah, I think it's probably best if I try and sort out the three things separately.
I know there's that advert for Yellow pages with James Nesbitt in where he gets Trinny and Sussanah to come round and give his friend an image consultancy and they end up giving him one. Do services like that really exist?
I know the big department stores usually have personal shoppers, but I wondered whether style consultancy does actually function on a more independent basis..

Well I made a special journey today to get a pair of each the gold and silver ballet shoes in a size 7....my feet are currently swollen to immense proportions and only ballet flats will fit 'em! (God knows what I'm going to wear with my dress on saturday night - slippers I think!)
Anyway, if anyone's going to Peacocks would they get me a pair in a 7? I'm after both gold and silver, but either would be a start.....I'd be incredibly grateful and would pay you instantly inc pp....
