New York Shopping Report
As I am extremely bored at work I thought I would “treat” you all to my New York shopping report!
Unfortunately this report will be relatively short as I spent most of my money on the 1st day in Marc Jacobs!
So apart from my MJ Blake here (which was worth every penny) I also bought some gorgeous fleecy blue striped PJs by Ralph Lauren from Century 21 for a bargainous £20. I haven’t wanted to take them off and plan on spending most of my weekend in them!
There was still quite a lot of sales stuff going on, Mr Stoli got some bargains in Gap, t-shirts, socks etc and I managed to find a pair of long and lean grey jeans for £7!!
I think the best bargain we found was Earl Jeans, they were having a huge sale – 50% off, with a further 25% off the sale price :yay: between me and Mr Stoli we managed to buy the equivalent of £400 worth of stuff for £100!
We also bought the obligatory NYPD and NYFD oversized sweatshirts from the tacky souvenir shops around the Empire State, so good for slobbing about the house in.
After that Mr Stoli was keen to keep me away from the shops :p but I did manage to spend some more cash in my new favourite shop – Sephora. It’s heaven for anyone who loves branded make-up and skin care. I bought a load of Benefit make-up, Lancome mascara, make up brushes and electric eyelash curlers and bath stuff by Philosophy in Mimosa “flavour” which not only smells gorgeous but has a recipe for the cocktail on the front of the bottle – my kind of product! ;)
I think that’s about it, a good time was had by all, well everyone except my credit cards!

Forgot to mention, if you're planning on shopping in any of the big department stores like Bloomingdales, Macys etc remember to take your passport and go to the visitors desk and they'll give you 11% (I think) off. Bloomingdales also give you a free gift if you go back with a reciept showing you spent over $100. :)
Denim Culotte/Gaucho things
NO.2. ask :
Denim Culotte/Gaucho things
Hi guys
I don't often post, but, I think you might be the people to help me out here. I was watching 10 years younger last night, and the girl getting made over was put in lots of culottes, which I thought looked fab on her.
I was thinking that some dark denim ones would look good with black heeled boots and cami for evening, or ballet flats and a fitted jumper for day, and maybe even birkenstocks and T shirts for spring/summer.
So, question is, do you think this is a possibility? and more importantly, where can I get some??
CB
Answer:
**** do them - i almost tried them on but didn't have energy. also - if you're not fussed with denim i have four pairs of gauchos that are 19.99 in the sale at urban outfitters in an array of colours - can see them in my style diary.
i'm too short for anything like this really but it's been established that i have zero dress sense!
Does anyone know...
NO.3. ask :
Does anyone know...
WHERE I can get grey tights from???!
I have hunted high low for them and I cannot source them at all.
I am preferably looking for a pair of mid grey fishnets or lacy tights...
Answer:
Topshop or I think MS.
Answer:
I have tried them both to no joy.. :head: Pleanty of brown but no grey.
Answer:
I'm wearing grey patterned tights from New Look today. If you're thinking of thick grey opaques then I've seen these in Primark.
Answer:
I bought some from Topshop before Christmas but I'm not that keen on them - would prefer them a bit thicker. Urban Outfitters also had some in at around the same time.
What about Accessorize? Or Sock Shop?
New Look Grey Boots!

They certainly are. I gave out a squeal when I saw them.. much to the surprise of the bunch chavs that were admiring the fluffy eskimo moon boots near me..
I think I prefer them to the original NL Grey boots.. i like a skinny heel. and they are as nice as the TS ones (which I paid £70 for  )
Answer:
They are gorgeous!! I saw them the other day but had to resist because I already have the other ones with the chunkier heel!!
They're so pretty though that I may *have* to get them!!!
Answer:
oh oh! piccy please!! i was going to get the topshop ones after work this evening!! but could pop out to liffey valley tommorrow if i like them! thanks for the tip off!
Next patent shoes
NO.5. ask :
Next patent shoes
The other day I saw some round toed, purple patent heels in Next. I need a black pair the same style, so I asked the assistant if they had any in the stockroom but she checked and said there were none in my size. In the end I decided to get the purple ones anyway, but then they turned out not to be in stock in my size either.
Now, I am thinking of ordering them in to the store.. but I would really rather get the black ones (if not both!) However the only black patent shoes on the shelf were pointy, slingback wedges, or peeptoes. So I'm not sure if this shoe even exists in black.. the assistant wasnt much help, I dont think she knew.
What I am asking is, has anyone seen them? They are £29.99. I checked the catalogue and website but it doesnt even have the purple ones in, let alone a black version.
Thanks!
Answer:
Have you tried the Next christmas catalogue, i vaguely remember seeing some patent shoes in there. I will have a look tonight...
Answer:
No, good point I havent! I'll do that later. Thanks. Fingers crossed!
Answer:
Nope not seen them but Next are terrible for stuff like that. Don't Miss Selfridge have some in the same ?
