Dress - thumbs up or down

NO.1. Ask :
Dress - thumbs up or down
1 Attachment(s) Do you like this? Little unsure about pattern
Answer:
Really would need to see it in real life as it is one of those things that could be either very pretty or very dressing gown-like. Not sure that those colours suit many people either.
Answer:
not keen on the baby pink and minty pale green small flowery pattern.. think it looks like granny curtains ..:(
Answer:
i'm not too keen but only because the colours are a bit too 'weak' for me, iyswim.
its certainly not a horrible dress though... just not for me so can't say i like it really, sorry!
Answer:
Thanks so much for the answers! I haven't been on the forums as regularly (v busy) - I'd forgotten how great it is for getting opinions!

    Bored of 'going out' clothes
Title says it all really :( I'm just so bored of them! Does anyone else feel like this?
I've got some shorter shorts, which I'm going to wear out, but skinny jeans are a real no no for me. I don't know - I'm just feeling very 'stale' about all my clothes I generally wear out :meh: just to bars/clubs.
I need inspiration! Any takers? What are you all wearing?
    Answer:
sadly i dont get to go out as much as i like to these days but i used get bored of my going out stuff when i was a student too.
If you have a friend the same size as you then borrowing a top or something from her that you have always liked is a really cool thing to do. The same effect as buying something new but totally free.:)
    Answer:
    Yep I agree with numes...
and ohara, i'm with you on the whole stale thing, so I thought up a whole lot of ideas that haven't been seen for a while:
Gorgeous and classy straight down the leg trousers, not jeans in grey, black, brown etc (I have a gorg. greyish one) and a tight halterneck top or something along a similar vein
Skirts - it seems that it has been forgotten lately the multitude of shapes skirts come in, flared, simple knee length, a-line in all sorts of coloured and my original idea of gypsy skirts (not those tired ones in fashion last year, but simply ones with ends that meet at all points) aswell as preppy pleated ones and any top really, well tops haven't been much of a problem lately
-Cords. Maybe it's just me, but I've always loved a pair of tight or loose brown cord trousers with almost any top and almost any trousers.
I'll let you know when I come up with more.
    Answer:
As you may have guessed from my thread the other night, I'm a bit uninspired too.
I know it might not be much use to you, but in the end I wore black skinny jeans with pumps and a longline black deep cowl neck top, with a red and white stripe one showing underneath.
I'm getting a bit fed up with shorts to be honest :meh:
    Answer:
    Bibbity - crossed posts!
BTW, thanks for posting the outfit you wore last night.
I just generally think that we have to start thinking outside what's in the shop windows, and more on the back rails for inspiration that makes you stand out and be a fashion trendsetter rather than follower!

i have just received the compensation from a car crash i was in last spring, leaving me with a serious decision to make - be a good girl and put it in an ISA or begin the marc jacobs collection i've always wanted... what do you think????
    Answer:
Save half spend half- problem solved!:D
    Answer:
    one nice MJ wont hurt.
    Answer:
    Travel somewhere amazing
    Answer:
To be honest, I'd say it depends on how much you've got.
I'd be tempted to err on the side of saving, but I'm in far too sensible 'saving for a house and our future' mode.
I agree with chocolatejo though - if I wasn't saving it I'd much rather use a lump of money to travel with and gain a whole bunch of amazing experiences, than to buy something that you may not like this time next year.
Controversial on the fashion board I know

Do you know anyone of your age who has no interest in clothes or fashion?
I sit next to a girl who is my age, she's really tall and slim and goes out socialising etc but she has no interest in fashion or clothes at all. She wears the same 3 pairs of trousers for work every day in rotation and has a few different colour long sleeved t-shirts which have been washed so often the hems have gone frilly.
we were talking about clothes the other day and she informed me that she can't remember the last time she bought new clothes and still wears black trousers that she has had for 6 years to go out. She also told me that she wears her jeans until they literally wear out and then replaces them. Just one pair of jeans? I can understand this if you don't wear them much but she wears them all weekend?
I also have to say, she comments quite a bit on what I am wearing, usually nice but she always finishes with 'I wouldn't wear it of course' and I kind of think 'Thank fook for that'.
I mean I have friends who arn't actually interested in 'fashion' as such but they all love clothes and shopping and treat themselves to new stuff - I find it most perculiar to literally not care at all what you have on/look like....
    Answer:
I don't get people like that at all ( I am sure they dont get my obsession either though)
There is a girl in here who I reckon must be the same age as me (and on a decent wage) and she wears the most hideous suits I have ever seen in my life. They resemble late 80's early 90's polyester catalogue suits - usually in weird colours like pale green or mauvey pink. I can sit for ages looking at wondering why she thinks that is nice.
    Answer:
crazy! I don't think I know anyone who has no interested in clothes at all - even though plenty of my friends are not into 'fashion', they all still want to look good
I need more than one pair of jeans just on the basis of my lazyness  there is no way I could do my washing as much as would be necessary
    Answer:
Nor do I, most of my friends like clothes - maybe some less extreme than others but certainly pay heed to how they look!
Actually what astounds me more is people's lack of sense of appropriateness - their is a girl in here wandering about in a vest top ! Now ignoring the fact that it is about 2C in Edinburgh today, I wouldn't ever wear that only that on top to work?!
I really should do some work other than scrutinsing people in this office! :p
    Edited due to terrible spelling.
    Answer:
Theres a girl in my group at uni who is the same age as me, 20. She behaves and dresses far too old for her age.

She wears those awful jeans that have a really high elasticated waist and taper in at the ankle teamed with a really thick, highly patterned rollneck jumper and what I can only describe as school shoes.
Whenever I go into uni she looks me up and down and says "You look nice" and I can just tell shes lying :p
Im not sure if shes not interested in clothes or she just doesnt get fashion. She seems to like the clothes that she wears and thinks she looks good.

do skinny jeans in an indigo colour?
I love the fit of my grey ones so much it'd be nice to know i could keep my eyes open for the blue version when i'm in town next :)
    Answer:
Hmm I bought two pairs of skinnies from there today, grey and black, and I'm sure on my way out I spotted another colour. They weren't as indigo as my nl skinnies, somewhere in between blue and grey I would say. Unfortunately I didn't go over and take a proper look because I decided two was enough for one days shopping! (I went in specifically to look for a suit  )
Anyway, what I'm trying to say is, I think so!
ETA: I should be popping back into town tomorrow so can take a look if you want? :)
    Answer:
I'm after dark blue ones so if you see any of those i'd be most grateful if you could let me know, ta chick! :)

Will keep my beady eyes out for some :)
    Answer:
yes they do! I was walking through the Lakeside one last week and saw a girl holding a pair up to her to see if they were the right length and I thought to myself ooh lovely dark indigo colour. Didn't get a pair as I've just got far too many jeans in my wardrobe at the mo! Need to ebay some and make space:lol:
