Create a gift guide!

NO.1. Ask :
Create a gift guide!
I thought it may be an idea to share all our knowlege when it comes to buying fashion based presents.
Categories that I suggest are:
Under £25
Under £50
Under £100
Under £200
Possibly having some subheadings like
Accessory fan.
Shoe fan.
Answer:
Sounds like a really good idea. We could all benefit from it - especially if we could have a men's gift guide? I'm clueless when it comes to buying my b/f things.
Answer:
cool.
More ideas needed ie catergories etc.
Answer:
Hmm... *thinks...*
ok.. i'm stumped:confused:
Answer:
Great idea - perhaps break the accessory category into more sections?
- Jewellery Fan
- Bags Fan
- Scarves Fan
- Belts Fan

  • Should I say something

    NO.4. ask :
    Should I say something
I don't know whether this is the right place to post this but it is fashion related.
I work as a teacher in a really tough secondary school, there is a girl at work who is getting a load of abuse of the pupils as she dresses awfully. She is quite a large lady and wears long straight skirts that finish mid-calf, she wears ankle socks and loafers with these skirts. She also wears the kind of jumpers that older people wore in the 90's you know with the animal scenes on. She also wears glasses and has short very thin hair that almost looks like she is balding. The pupils at school say that she looks like a character out of little Britain - the one in a wheelchair.
I have spoken to her a few times and she seems really sweet (it is a large school and different departments are in different blocks).
Should I say something to her and if so what? I don't want to upset her but I know how cruel kids can be and I don't like to think of them getting her down.
    Thanks Claire
    Answer:
Ooo... it's a toughy coz she might actually be comfortable in her style and the last thing you'd want to do is offend her.
kids can be very cruel - especially girls. If it were me I'd stay out of it because if the people who were skitting her found out that she was taking style advice off a teacher (despite how fabulous that teachers style may be) they'd have a field day and the girl would be mortified.
Plus.. I think that the only thing that will attract more attention than sticking out... is trying to fit in.
    Hope that helped...
    Melon xx
    Answer:
Oh sorry I don't think I may it very clear - the girl I was talking about is a teacher not a pupil.
    Answer:
Oh shes a grown adult! I really dont know - I would be very torn like you, because she may take your effort to help in the wrong way.
Is she quite a happy person, or is this getting her down?
    Answer:
    Ohhh lol! :p
Silly me... I should have realised that not many schools (if there are any) don't have a uniform lol.
I feel all embarrassed now lol!
Well... maybe you could try dropping a few hints? Then again you still run the risk of her being offended if she's comfortable iwth her style (I have a friend who I am DYING to makeover but she isnt having any of it).
Also, as I said before, the only thing worser than sticking out is trying to fit in. The kids would still probably take the p*ss outta her if she came in with a change of image. I know I probably would have done that when I was still at school and immature.
I think she might be used to taking abuse anyways - it seems to me like it comes with the job. Pupils always skit teachers... it seems to make their day more enjoyable.
Well its up to you what you do but if it were me, personally, I'd just stay well out of it.
