We haven't had one of these threads in a while.... weddings!
I know, I know, boring.
I'm going to a wedding in a couple of weeks and I haven't a clue what to wear to the night do. For the wedding itself, I'm going to wear my DvF Glamazon wrap dress with my brown Gap caplet, brown tights and depending on the weather either brown Prada shoes or my Miu Miu boots. Sorted.
But the evening do  I don't really want to buy anything new (unless it's Primark cheap) because I'm trying to lose weight. Here's a couple of possibles:
1) Blue abstract print silk dress by Antik Batik (pic in style diary) with my black Top Shop asymmetric jacket and black shoes of some sort - possibly Marc Jacobs mary janes
2) Stella McCartney for HM blue silk wrap dress - now I haven't worn this yet and I would like to but I haven't a clue how to accessorise it for a wedding - any ideas? It looks great over grey skinnies but not really for a wedding do.
3) Duck egg Matthew Williamson styli Top Shop dress with cream shoes and pashmina
4) Black ethnicy embroidered skirt from Primark with the puff sleeved knitted polo neck from Warehouse, with chunky silver beaded necklace and pewter ballet pumps.
Any other ideas gratefully received! I don't really want to spend money on a lot of new stuff but would spend say £50 on accessories or bits and bobs to go with other things. Help! I'm having a major brain fart on this one.
Answer:
ooh dunno Curls, all 3 outfits sound lovely to me! The Antik Batik dress is gorgeous so that might inch it a bit forwards for me. The black outfit might be a teensy bit too day-wearish perhaps? And if you can't think of how to accessorize the Stella dress maybe it's best left.
Process of elimination! :detect: :D
Answer:
I like the sound of the Duck Egg Blue dress with cream accessories. Do you have a piccy?
They all sound nice though
Answer:
I vote 1.
Its a lovely, special looking dress.
Stella one is amazing, but not as weddingy.
Answer:
I vote number 1 as being the most eveningy of the lot.
I wish I had your dilemma....I have a wedding in a few weeks but since I am a bridemaid I will be wearing royal blue satin in what can only be described as 'a classic bridesmaid dress' together with my hair corkscrew curled:sick: with (and this is where I am drawing a line in the sand but being overruled by everyone else) DIAMANTE 'SPRINKLES' throughout the curls. Imagine approx 1.5 carat 'diamonds' dotted all over my head  .
I am arguing a nice fresh flower would be more suitable but no, we need 'a bit of sparkle' .
Sorry Curls, a bit of a tangent there !

Answer:
There are quite a few baggers with them on here and everyone seems to be really very happy with them.
Answer:
Fiona now has a website
Answer:
The last time I looked at her website I noticed that the prices were a bit:eek: . But a bagger contacted her and it seems the regular prices still hold if you ask her.
Any help with this?

Ok I just bought this skirt in the sale from French Connection and it was reduced even more than shown to £25:00,
http://www.****buymail.com/ProductDe...language=en-GB
Mine isn’t exactly the same colour as this one is listed as frost, where as mine is olive with dark gold sequins (see the top in the background on this page).
http://www.****buymail.com/ProductDe...language=en-GB
Now they didn’t have the top to match and I’m pretty certain I wouldn’t want it as I think it would be OTT so I was thinking that a plain olive/khaki vest top would probably be best as it is very sparkly. But would that be too much green? (In the light the sequins really shine)
Does anyone have any suggestions, as I would like to wear it out for my birthday in a few weeks time?
Also I normally wear silver jewellery or fashion jewellery, obviously silver is out but should I go for chunky gold fashion stuff? Any suggestions would be great thank you.

Answer:
ooh I've been eyeing up that skirt in olive! saw it for £35, might see if they still have it in my size!
It's difficult. I think the olive/khaki vest would have to be just the right shade to work - perhaps try somewhere like Jigsaw which has interesting colours.
I can't remember the skirt exactly but maybe a deep warm chocolate top would work too? or a top with just a smattering of similar coloured sequins just to pull the whole outfit together? saw some nice vest tops in the Monsoon sale reduced by 70%
It really is a beautiful skirt!
ETA: I wouldn't add chunky jewellery because it really is so feminine and it would be too bulky. I'd add a pair of delicate dangly earrings in gold/bronze/olive tones (Accessorize have lots in this colourway!) and a simple clutch bag and nice bronze sandals. Stunning!
Answer:
Thank you for your reply, you are probably right about the top needing to be just the right colour, as the skirt material kind of changes colour depending on the light. In the shop (under the bright lights) it was very green (definitely a khaki colour) and the gold sequins really sparkled, where as when I got it home it almost looked brown (so definitely showing its olive tones)
I think now because of the skirts ability to change colour depending on the light it will probably have to be a contrasting colour top rather than a matching one. I hadn’t thought about chocolate colours, so that good work.
Answer:
How about this ? It might make it too dressy - depends on what your birthday plans are I suppose!
Answer:
I think a plain thin knitt fitted polo neck (in black or cream or beige) would look fine in order to dress it down a bit during winter and as materials would be contrasting...
You would defo need a quite plain top as skirt is quite busy already! lovely though! ;)

I've had stuff delivered by EMS - I always thought it was delivered by Royal Mail? At least, the non-tracked EMS stuff has come by my regular postie.....
Answer:
EMS is just a particular international mail service, it's not a company.
You can send things EMS via post offices all over the world in participating countries.
Have you tried putting the number in on the Royal Mail website?

....i was recently thinking of baggers missing in action, namely yingers and sushiflower, and wondered what had become of the....are they around in another guise, or are they too busy with their babies (as i recall both were pregnant) I miss their great fashion advice!!
Answer:
where have you been ! ! !
there was a thread a week or two ago, that Mimicat started, (which, incidentally, descended into chaos :p) about this very same thing!
Yingers is about still, i got a PM from her in the new year, she's due in April i think, or end of March. She is fine and her pg is going well; she's just not bagging as much as she used to.
As for SF i never really knew her as i was on Maternity Leave when she was a prolific fashion poster.
