outfit for April wedding
I am going to a wedding in early April and really do not know what will be suitable to wear, it is neither winter or summer and could be quite warm or freezing cold. It is a church so will be quite formal.
I would like a dress and jacket or skirt, top and jacket combination but not sure if I should opt for darkish "winter" colours or (if I can find anything) more summery floral or pastels.
I have seen some very nice cream short jackets in a thick "waffle" type fabric (bit pricey at £169!! ) but not sure if cream is acceptable even if rest of outfit is another colour (bride will be in cream)
Any suggestions gratefully received
Answer:
I went to a wedding last year in April most people had opted for fairly summery colours, but it was a very bright sunny day.
There doesn't seem to be the stigma that there used to be about wearing all white or cream as I have seen quite a few wedding guests wearing these colours - I'm not keen on it myself as in some cases it really has looked as if they are trying to upstage the bride. But I think a cream jacket would be fine.
Answer:
I wouldn't personally wear cream to a wedding but definetely think you should opt for pastels as april still is spring isn't it - plus you'll be sick and tired of winter colours by then! With a jacket you shouldn't have to worry too much about the weather as you can take it off if it's warm and keep it on if it's chilly.
I think the "waffle" type of fabric can look rather nice with a very fitted jacket, below-the-knee pencil skirt, pretty camisole/vest top underneath pretty heels. Perhaps look out for it in other colours, don't know what your colouring is like but pale pink, oyster coloured, beige, ice blue?
ETA: for shocking spelling!!

Hey... I don't know how to attach picture so if you really wouldn't mind.... please follow the link.

if that works??
Anyways... if it works I'd really like to get this dress for a friends birthday party soon but I'm torn between what colour.
The less adventurous side of me says be safe with black.. but I really like the beige one too!!
Also, as I'm only short (5'2") I'm a bit unsure as to whether it will look alright on me (I never wear dresses or skirts)
Any help and ideas how to accessorise/what shoes to wear too would be greatly appreciated as this is like a BIG step for me - finally wearing a dress lol
Thanks

Just added the pics for you...............what colouring are you? I think the beige would need darker skin, darker hair.
Answer:
I like it ..until I see the back view. It looks unflattering and shapeless from the back IMO.
Just wear heels and you'll fine in it. I'd get the black one as the beige one would look a bit "curtainty" I think and would be a difficult colour to wear unless you have olive or black skin.
Answer:
Thankyou!! I will learn to do that someday
Its not just copying and pasting is it? Because that was an idea that seemed way too easy ... so I didn't try it.
Synthetic platform peep toe heels?

Synthetic platform peep toe heels?
Hey all!
Has anyone seen any of these? Checked out NL but they're all narrow soles and I'd love a bit of height! DP have some lovely ones in the sale (shown) but they're leather. I don't really have a budget as synthetic shoes are normally cheap as! Just no Stella reccies though, please!
Answer:
I'm sure Matalan had some, made of faux suede I think...
Answer:
They are lovely! :)
Have you tried places like Topshop or HM? :)
Answer:
I think these are them
(courtesy of Bibbitybob from another thread!)
Answer:
Ooh, Illena, they look lovely, thank you! Do you know how long ago that was?
Miss Sofia, Topshop are nearly exclusively animal derived - I should think NL will soon do a copy of the round toe snakeskin platforms from TS everyone keeps raving about!
New shoes on the Gina website.

New shoes on the Gina website.
I'm quite disappointed! There was one point, a couple of years ago, where I could quite happily have spent about £2000 on shoes at Gina. They've just emailled me to say they've updated their website with the Spring/Summer shoes, and they're nothing special.
At a push, I'd buy these - only cos I don't own any purple shoes!
What do you think? Any must have shoes from Gina this year?

What would you wear with a puffball skirt?
NO.5. ask :
What would you wear with a puffball skirt?
Hi girls,
I've recently bought a black puffball skirt, its pretty short...comes above my knees. Only problem is I'm planning on wearing it out tonight but have no idea what to wear on top. Outfits that looked good in my head didn't seem to work out IRL :uzzle:
Any suggestions? :)
Answer:
I would wear a skinny fit t shirt and beads :)
Answer:
or a bandeau top and beads
Answer:
Hmm, I haven't worn any of my puffballs for a while now, but there are a few outfits that I did wear them with on my Stylediary if that helps?
Otherwise, love Caramel's idea about the bandeau top and heels, think that would look fab for a party.
For more casual looks I did used to wear mine with flat gold pumps and leg warmers, with a poloneck on top, but that might not be to everyone's taste :D

I have a grey puffball from matalan but I wear it for work as its quite long. Where did you get your shorter puffs from?
