Marbella- What weather and what to wear?

NO.1. Ask :
Marbella- What weather and what to wear?
I'm off to Marbella at the end of next week for a work conference and I'm trying to be organised and plan my outfits in advance :)
Does anybody know what the weather is like at this time of year? The dress code for the conference in 'smart casual' so was thinking along the lines of skirt, flat boots and thin(ish) jumpers with lots of nice accessories.
Any thoughts?
Answer:
Oooooh lucky you , I love Marbella and went there several times with work a few years ago.
The weather's ok, warm enough not to need a coat on an evening but don't expect it to be bikini weather every day .
Anything seemed to go at our conferences - jeans, shorts, T shirts etc. I'd think on the lines of what you'd wear if it was a smart casual event in the UK on a hot summer day and you won't go wrong.
Evening wise, again anything goes. Its a very laid back atmosphere at night but quite a few do tend to get quite dressed up. Lots of designer gear on show , though mostly worn by the extremely stunning Spanish prostitutes(its overrun with them ). Again, think summer night out in the UK re what to wear and you'll be fine.
Answer:
Oooh thanks Goldie, I hadn't realised it was going to be that warm. I might have to do some outfit re-thinking!
My company is more 'smart' than 'casual' and I'm presenting twice so I need to be fairly formal.
I'm starting to look forward to it now, despite the 4:30am check in :)
Answer:
Some days its warm enough to catch the sun and sunbathe and I can't recall one day that it wasn't in the three times we all went during the winter months. Its worth taking a fleece or light jacket though just incase , and you'll need it anyway on route at 4am lol.

  • O/T but anyone from China, Japan or US?

    NO.2. ask :
O/T but anyone from China, Japan or US?
As research for a job interview, I'm looking for companies that Chinese/Japanese of American nationals would use to book their holidays to come to London.
I have tried looking at Google but it keeps bringing up luxury tour operators TO China and Japan or the US! They must be dealing with the 5* market.
Any help you could give me, could get me a new job and I would be eternally grateful!!
    Answer:
Erm, my friend's just set one up? It's called Aegis (i think) it specialises in packages from china (shanghai) to London. I don't think there's a website as yet but am not too sure. What kind of details are u after? I can put you in touch?
    Answer:
Not from China, Japan or US but does this help?
*List of travel agents based in HK (though I'm not sure which ones do deals to London)
    http://www.hkexpats.com/KB/KBBrowser...TRSECTION=152
*The website for the Hong Kong Association of Travel Agents isn't working atm, but here's the link anyway:
    www.hata.org.hk
*From the Japan Association of Travel Agents, a list of travel agents in Japan (this is a list of all the ones who do deals to Western Europe)
    http://www.jata-net.or.jp/kaiin/activemember_s.asp
*On the website for the United States Tour Operators Association, you can search for operators by destination:
    http://www.ustoa.com/
Unfortunately, whilst these pages give the names of the companies and their contact details, they don't say which ones are the main companies that people use. To find out, perhaps you could try posting on expat websites or contacting the respective tourist boards.
From what I rememer, I think that the following Fashion baggers are based in those countries:
    - Sakura (Japan)
    - Dolphins130 (US)
    - and Valentine (HK)
Perhaps a PM to them might take you in the right direction.
    :)
    Answer:
I answered in GC, but if you want to give me a bit more info, I can pick my brain and those of friends family. :)
    Answer:
    brilliant guys!!!!
Basically, I need to know the names of the key agents and tour operators that would sell 5* hotels in London to the local China/Japan or US markets.
I want this job so much I could cry!

Ceilidh on saturday - what to wear dilemma
I am off to a ceilidh on saturday - now I have been to loads of them in the past but only at weddings so everyone is very dressy - however this one is a charity one in the cathedral hall, so no idea what the dress code is gonna be. I also hope to nip round to the local nightclub after it as it will likely finish around 12, so need to be wearing something versatile enough to go clubbing in, but not too fashiney to wear doing the 'gay gordons' in:o
    please help.
    Answer:
    Whats a Ceilidh? :o
    Answer:
What about a nice pair of jeans and a top? I hate wearing skirts at Celidhs because I end up in a vigorous dance and my skirt goes everywhere!
I wouldn't wear a strapless top unless you're very brave, either!
Sorry I can't be of much help.
    Answer:
Well do ya have any flat boots? perhaps with a skirt.
(ohara - It's a sort of barn dance)
    Answer:

    NO.5. ask :
    knitted bags?
Anyone know where I can buy a knitted bag, I have seen them in M and S and in TS but neither were right. Loved the size of the TS one and loved the duffle coat fastening on the M and S one but it was too small and teh strap was too small.
Ideally I would like it to have two straps and be quite big and under £50.
    Answer:
I think I might have seen a nice one at River Island. I think they are quite nice but be careful to get one with a strong inner lining otherwise they stretch so badly that they look like giant cow udders. And some of them do NOT like getting wet.....I smelled one that had been rained on on the bus the other day that reminded me of an old sheep!

    Answer:
OOh I looked in RI yesterday and saw none.I will pop in again. Ooh smelly bags..not gud!
