topshop shoes - sizing
does anybody know how topshop shoe sizing comes up? are they true to size, smaller or bigger? also are they narrow or wide? I've seen some shoes on ebay, 2 pairs together and the starting price is £15 plus £10 postage and I'm quite tempted but its a lot of money if they're not gonna fit :( any advice please? :)
Answer:
I'm a 6 - 6.5 and take a 6 in their shoes and usually a 7 in their boots :)
Answer:
Hey funkymoo!!
I usually buy synthetic, cheaper rip offs of TS shoes (metallic courts, shoe boots, you name it!) but I usually have a trying on sesh with friends when in there. I've found that they come up very small. I'm a long, narrow size 8 and I found they were really cramped in the toe - and that was an immediate discomfort, it usually takes a good 5 or 6 hours of walking in heels to irritate my tootises! As if the price/material wasn't enough to put me off, eh?!
Can you nip into a store and have a try yourself?
Answer:
i'm 5.5 - wear a 6 in TS boots, but a 5 in their shoes, which is pretty much the norm for me
Answer:
I think I'll leave them then, I have quite wide feet and can vary from size 4 to size 7, the ones on ebay are size 6 which is what I generally am but having never tried topshops shoes before I dunno whether I even need a 6. Hack I won't be able to get to topshop till next weekend and they'll have finished by then :( never mindy, my search for blue shoes continues.......
*curses that evil fairy poppins for flaunting her new blue shoes, which are so so pretty*:lol:
What do you think of these ugg style boots?
NO.2. ask :
What do you think of these ugg style boots?
I bought these Ugg style boots in a size 4 from Ebay today for £15.99 as Hartings have sold out I need a quick fix solution for my cold feet. They may not be as good quality as the real Uggs but they'll do for now. I asked the seller if I needed to downsize but they said my normal size should fit ok. I bought a pair of fake Uggs last year (which got ruined when I tried to clean them with suede cleaner) they were a size 4 but they slipped a bit at the back so I thought I would get a size 3 in these boots but the sheepskin bit inside looks a lot thicker than my old ones so hopefully :fingers: they will fit. I don't think they are too bad for the price but what does everyone else think?
Need your opinions....
Lisa xxx
P.S. The boots in the picture have creases on the side but the ones I bought don't - just in case you thought they were a bit naff because of it!!!
Answer:
They look fine to me, nice classic colour and should be toasty warm which is just what everyone needs at the mo :)
Answer:
Uggs
To me they don't look very durable and I would not go for them. Good luck though !
Answer:
Lisa they look fine, the difference will be that the sheepskin won't be real and they won't be as warm as real Uggs. Plus the sole doesn't look like it will be as durable. BUT if you want them to look like Uggs rather than feel like Uggs I don't think they are bad.
I finally received my Uggs this morning and from a distance there won't be a lot in it with yours x
Answer:
i have 'uggs' just like these and they are very warma dn toasty! although the bottems dont look very durable ive had mine for a couple of months and havent brocken or anything! i think you should go for them!
Dog racing-what to wear?!?!
NO.3. ask :
Dog racing-what to wear?!?!
I'm going 'to th dogs' i.e going greyhound racing tommorrow night for a male friends birthday and then we're going on to our local nightclub...problem is I've never been to the dogs before and haven't a clue what to wear??
It needs to be something that will be ok going out after too-
any ideas??
Answer:
Maybe some outfit involving knee shorts. Maybe with heels and some kind of vest top with a cover up over? You could take the cover up off when going clubbing :)
The dogs is pretty casual but people do make an effort.
Answer:
Ahem. Cough, cough.
Answer:
Thanks CiC- was thinking about some clever layering myself!!
Answer:
Our local dog track does fund raisers to keep a society going to make sure all the dogs used are looked after correctly during their racing career and after.
It's awful to think so many are discarded when they are too old/not fast enough :( And of course not all are looked after properly and ensured that they won't be hurt when racing :boohoo:
Band Tee's
NO.4. ask :
Band Tee's
Where do you guys get yours - if you get any that is.
Feeling rather rock chickish lately and really wanting a nice band tee that is quite fitted.
Any ideas?
Thanks, Melon xx
Answer:
Find a band you like and buy a t-shirt!
Off topic: I hate it when people wear band t-shirts just for fashion. If you don't like the band it just makes you look silly and pretentious.
I have a Ramones t-shirt and a lush Reel Big Fish scarf from the gig on Wednesday (still very bruised). I used to have a few Stereophonics tees from gigs.
They sometimes have old school t-shirts in charity shops which look quite cool and "vintage".
Answer:
What katie said :)
All my band tshirts are vintage ones that I bought new when I was a teenager or at Uni. My favourite one is a black Neds Atomic Dustbin one that I wear as a nightshirt now. It says Happy on the front. Kind of ironic for me ;)
I've also got Stone Roses, Wedding Present, Wonder Stuff, Blondie and Duran Duran tees. Showing my age a bit now :o
Answer:
Appreciate this reply but what I was really looking for was a website so that I could see what was on offer and if any band I like was on there as in my experience, the only nice tee's that feature bands I like are in mens sizes. Sorry for offending you as I wasn't very specific.
ETA: I have a blondie top too curls! It reminds me of something from fame! only problem is the colour. It's dark pink with a hint of purple kinda and I can't find anything to wear with it.

Oops Sorry skinnymelon!

Some bargains to be had this month!
Just picked up the delightful travel size Essentials mag and it had some brilliant cheap fashion ideas, like bowed red wooden heeled courts for £15 from MKOne and a white Galaxy-a-like bowed for £25 from New Look.
It's now my favourite mag!

Sounds great - will check it out for sure now!!:)
