Pret-a-portea and others....
Fashionista laydeez, some advice please!
My best friend and i will be coming into a sum of money (£250) thanks to some extra work we're doing in a few weeks time (yes, its crack-whoring) Shes over from Canada, but it was such good money for the amount of work required (helping out with the children and babies at a wedding, actually!) that we decided to go for it. Anyway our plan is to spend it on something fantastic, a day out rather than buying clothes and shoes like we always do, treat ourselves to a fab time at the end of her visit... I was just thinking about the pret-a-portea thing that some of you did and wondered how it was - did you enjoy it? Also, any suggestions on what we can blow the other £175 on? Thought about some day spas but not really sure we'd get much for our money and dont know where would be good (we're in south london)?
Cheers, mi'dears!
Answer:
I love Pret-a-Portea and the hot chocolate in the Caramel Room :faint:
Why don't you see about having a treatment and a swim in the Berkeley Spa? the pool there is lovely and very relaxing!
Answer:
I've not been for Pret-a-portea, but I have had tea at the Berkeley (MrPCit stuffed our booking up  ) and it was deeeelish and I KNOW I would enjoy Pret-a-portea very verrrrrrry much so I reckon you ladies will enjoy it too.
A treatment and swim at the Berkeley would definitely be a lovely treat though I am not sure how far your moolah would stretch there. Maybe try Groom which is, I think, round the corner on Beauchamp Place?
Or how about a lovely dinner? Say at Windows, or Nobu? Not on the same day necessarily.
The Spa at Chancery Court Hotel is very good value for money, and verrry nice indeedy.
Answer:
I had Pret a Portea for my 40th only last Friday with Mr LA and it was delightful - really girly and special.
Answer:
I'm going Pret a Portea next month with all the girlies, I love afternoon tea :throb:
What about dinner at Claridges?
Or a day in here - ? This is my dream place to go to, I fancy one of the Cleopatra baths.

Anyone been to East Kilbride or Braehead? I've only been to Stirling and Glasgow Argyle St! Looking to go to an easy parking big one soon with a mate! Are either of these any good or should we stick to Glasgow city centre?
    Cheers
    Ali
    xxxxx
    Answer:
braehead one is ok but is a lot smaller than the argylle street one so you will probably get much more choice if you go into town
    xx
    Answer:
East kilbride is quite a big one, prefer it to Braehead. the newest one is in the shopping centre in irvine (very easy to reach by train from Glasgow Central). It's the old Littlewoods so quite big. Huge women's department (whole top floor), the men's, kids and home section is downstairs.
there's also a smaller one in Ayr which is a bit rubbish.
    HTH!
    Answer:
Come to Aberdeeeeeeeeeeeeen one! its mahoosive !
was just at braehead on sat, not very impressed :cmdunno: i actually walked out without buying anything :faint: shock !

    Answer:
since i'm a bit of a primark wh*re, i've been to all of them :D
if i hate to rate them, first i'd go to:
    1. Argyle Street
    2. East Kilbride
    3. Sauchiehall Street
    4. Braehead
the reasons being, i think argyll street has the best choice and i know they get the most regular, biggest deliveries and it's all shiny and new! and it's not a total jumble sale and plenty staff about. it's pretty organised in terms of stock. its just three floors of bliss if u ask me!
EK is alright for selection although not as big, still nice and tidy, loadsa till folk! smaller tho
Sauchiehall street, it's ok i suppose but it's so far away from all the other decent stores, it's smaller and pretty jumbled and messy
Braehead, i don't like this one, it's a mess, it's all crammed in together and the cues are horrific!
EK you'll have to pay for parking and at the prices you might as well just open your purse and let them help themselves! Same with glasgow but at least you've got the buses and trains (or if you know where to park it's free :heyhey: )

What do you think of these shoes? I quite like them but I'm not sure if they look a bit cheap. I think they could look quite cute with cropped jeans.
ETA: For some reason I can't link directly, they're the cake button pump at the top of the casual section.
    Answer:
Actually, forget it. I've changed my mind. I don't like them at all. :o

I need your help as I am hopeless with interiors and always make expensive mistakes.
Okay, we live in an apartment and have a lounge/diner. The walls are white with grey marble floor. I am going to buy a grey sofa but need help with a dining table. Do I go for small, white marble round one with "Louis" chairs and do an elegant theme or should I play it safe with a rectangle "Next"type oak veener table and just go for a neutral theme? I would post pics but I don't have any.
I will be using "Next" type oak veneer modern furniture in the bedroom so should the theme run through?
I know I should post in Home but I really want the Fashion Peeps opinions.
    Answer:
I like the sound of the marble table but could do with seeing some pics really hun!!
I think you'll get more replies if you find some pics to show what you mean, or links to similiar looking things if the exact ones aren't on the net!!

    Answer:
I like the sound of the marble table.
    Answer:
The marble one would be kind of like this but with those Louis chairs that Matalan do
and the other on is this:
    Answer:
I have to say that the thought of a marble table sends shivers down my spine; but they're a pet hate of mine for some reason so feel free to ignore me!
I'd be concerned that with a marble floor and table, things might look too matchy-matchy; I'd need to see the colour scheme and interior, but from what you've said I'd personally go for wood. I wonder what dark wood, rather than the lighter type, might look like?
