Organising your wardrobe?

NO.1. Ask :
Organising your wardrobe?
Hi, probably a really silly question but Im just curious.
I was just trying to tidy up my wardrobe, removing clothes that I dont wear. I started trying to organise the clothes, first in colours, then I tried outfits and ended with type of clothes i.e all shirts together, then trousers, then skirts etc. I probably won't keep it up more than a week or two but wondered if you all kept things organised and if it helped when choosing outfits?
thanks
Answer:
I tend to organize my wardrobe so all my tops, trouser, etc are together. It cetainly helps save time when it comes to picking something out but after a week it ends up muddled and i have to do it again
Answer:
I'm lucky I have 3 sepp rails in my wardrobe, Half with one rail for dresses and also jumpers and the other half has a top rail for shirts and tops and a bottom rail for trousers and skirts shorts etc.

Answer:
In theory, I organise my clothes as follows.
I have two wardrobes- one for tops, one for bottoms. I then hang things in colour order ranging from white to colours to blacks on lovely wooden hangers
However, given that 90% of my clothes are in a heap on the sofa in the bedroom, bed in the spare room and strewn around the rest of the house this system doesn't count for much!:o
Answer:
They are loosely organised by the type of garment... very loosely

    :)
    Answer:
    I don't like it, sorry!
    Answer:
I am so torn. Do I love it or do I loathe it :cmdunno:
I think it would really suit you with skinny jeans and gold ballet pumps sox :great:
    Answer:
Looks really unflattering to me, sorry!:(
    Answer:
It reminds me of my old drama teacher who would wear cardis like that with flowing skirts and sandals.
That might just be me though- I'm sure the right person could make it look fab :)

    NO.3. ask :
what colours do you never wear?
i never ever wear white. i love the look of a nice white shirt but white looks so odd on me (very dark hair and very pale skin!). i also never wear blue apart from a strong teal next to my face even though it used to be my favourite colour!
i never wear all black anymore either...
    Answer:
I never wear aubergine or mustard yellow. They just remind me of art teachers.
I wear every other colour I can think of though.
    Answer:
I have only just started to try colours apart from black, white and grey. :o So I don't know what I will end up wearing or not wearing. The only colour I am certain about is that I will never buy or wear anything in the yellowish fawn colour we have painted our new bathroom.... every morning I think I must be ill (then go in the bedroom and look fine)
    Answer:
I very rarely wear pastel colours - they seem to make me look washed out, so I stick with black, white, brown, cream and bright bold colours.
That being said I'm currently wearing a lilac jumper, but it's just to keep me warm around the house
    Answer:
I never wear orange, not because it doesn't suit me or I don't like it, I've just never seen an orange item of clothing that I liked, I wouldn't say I'll never wear it though :)

    3/4 length fitted black coat?
I really like one I have seen recently on a woman, she wore it with jeans and a shirt and it looked retro but cool! Cannot seem to get one anywhere though?
It was fitted, not quite knee length and a light wooly sort of material, with very small lapels and pockets
Any ideas where I might find such an article?
    Answer:
There are quite a few on the Dorothy Perkins website at the moment.
    I'm particularly liking this one:
Zara also had some nice ones in their winter collection, but I don't know if they'll still be in stock.

    NO.5. ask :
    Slightly OT.. York, Anyone? (HM)
I'm *hopefully* going to York for a week for work (week beginning the 20th).
I've never been to York, don't even know where it is! Anyway, just a couple of questions for anyone who lives/frequents there..
Where is your HM? Is it in a town centre? Where is it in relation to the train station?
Is the store open yet? My managers think I'd be there on the Wednesday and the store would open on the Thursday, but they were hazy on the facts.
Any idea how big it is? As in how many floors etc?
Would there be anywhere like Boots or MS close by for my lunch breaks?
    Thanks in advance!
    C xx
    Answer:
    My boyfriend lives in York.
I know nothing else but it is open now.
If no-one has replied before I get back from my formal dinner I will phone him to ask where it is. :)
    Answer:
I dont know where HM is but the town centre is a short walk from the station and its really lovely too:)
ETA: they have a pret for lunch ... even better than boots!!;)
    Answer:
:fingers: that HM is in the town centre then! Would be nice and convenient.
My town doesn't have a Pret, so would be interesting to try. Thanks!
    C xx
    Answer:
HM is on the same road as Mango and Zara - Coney Street. As far as I know HM isn't open yet - not sure when exactly it's due to open.
Karen Millen opened last autumn and there's a Jigsaw too.
You must check out the Mulberry sale shop too - I think it's on silver street.
