Buying fake bags - is it theft?
I've seen loads of people with fake (supposedly mirror-copy) designer bags. They have the logo and are the right shape but they usually *look* cheap and tacky. So, why bother?
But bad quality aside, my main objection to blatant mirror fakes is that they rip off designers and, TBH, if anyone plagiarised - stole - stuff that I did/ made/ wrote/ designed for a living and passed it off as their own, I'd be mightily pissed off. Also, there has been a bit of press coverage over the past few years about mirror fakes funding crime... It makes me feel uncomfortable.
Companies like Lush, which make decent quality bags but use a Lush logo, are fine, though. At least they aren't parading as the real thing and you get a decent product from them.
Any thoughts?
Answer:
I know what you mean slinks but how can you say Lush bags are fine when they are an exact copy also, just because they don't have the designers name on it doesn't mean it's not a total rip off.... then you can get into the whole high street copy of designer clothes debate - a recent example being the galaxy dress. Obviously this bothers desingers as has been proven by them suing high street shops over their so called copies.
The difficult thing is where do you draw the line? Not buy a fake bag off ioffer as it has the labels of the designer on but buy exactly the same off Lush that doesn't or buy a similar version from the hight street? At the end of the day they are all *inspired* by the original which would make the designer pretty pissed off a LOT of the time... hard one....
Answer:
Hey Bells, how are ya babe? I know what you mean - I'm wrestling with this one! I suppose it's just taking that extra step of putting the original's name on it that crosses the line for me.
Hmmmm... it's really tricky to define what's acceptable/ not when you're talking creative stuff.
Answer:
I'm awight chica thanks, how's you?
It is a tricky one I agree ... I guess knowing the fake bag business *alledgedly* funds terrorism is a deciding factor! I bought a fake Chloe off ioffer last year but sold it on as it just didn't feel right and yet I have bought Lush bags no problem :cmdunno: :meh:

Patches
NO.2. ask :
Patches
Does anyone know where I can get some sewn-on or iron-on patches on the web? I've had a look on ebay and found quite a few but nothing that's caught my eye. I've also been on websites like oneposter.com and seen loads of band patches but what I'm looking for is more retro patches to go on a t.shirt that I'm customising for a friend's birthday present. I've already bought some badges but would like to put some patches on as well.
Any ideas?

Fashion idiot
Hello there!
I'm new to this board, I'm usually hiding out on relationships. I just need some advice about something fashion wise before I go out tonight and gathered that this would be the best place to ask. I know that fashion is about wearing what you personally are comfortable with but I would greatly appreciate any input.
Am going out to a club tonight and am wearing a black neck shaped strappy top with a bit of a lace effect at the front. Classic m and s, I know, but it looks good :D However.....
Have just bought a red bra which I love and am considering wearing it underneath. I think it looks alright but it is possible to see the tops of it. Is this a REALLY bad move or do you think I could get away with it? I realise it is difficult not being able to see it but I would appreciate any views on wearing black with red underwear. I am deadly serious, I am afraid I really don't have much of a clue when it comes to clothes...or anything else for that matter apart from history.
HELP!!! PLEASE!!!!

Answer:
With strappy tops you have three options
a) braless
b) nude bra straps/strapless bra
c) wear a kick ass gorgeous bra that you love showing off ;)
Now for a night clubbing, I don't see the problem with having a lovely lacy specimin on show :) So go for it!
Answer:
Fairy Poppins I love you!
Thank you for helping me out so quickly! As regards my options...
a) I don't have the confidence to go braless I'm afraid although it would be possible due to the lack of cleavage
b) I don't have any strapless I'm afraid.
So it's going to have to be c. Muhahahahahahahaha! Am just going to have to try and be confident.
Thank you!

Shopping in Bristol?
NO.4. ask :
Shopping in Bristol?
I'm going to be in Bristol in a couple of weekends' time and would love to know where is best to shop. I've heard the main area is Broadmead (I think) and also that there is another street somewhere with 'nicer' shops but I can't remember the name of the street. If anyone knows which street it is I'd love to know what shops does it has. Also any other tips eg. any little independent shops would be great :)
Answer:
Hello ticklish
I'm from Bristol. I gave some advice to shinyaholic in thread.
I personally hate Broadmead with a passion, it's currently going through a renovation, I was there yesterday and it smelt of dog poo all afternoon. Everyone was wandering round checking their feet!
It might be worth checking where Shiny went as I know she said she liked Bristol, I know she went to Clifton Village which has more independent boutique shops and is very pretty to wander round.
Hope that helps, and if you have any more questions, please ask!
Answer:
Oh thank you popoki. How embarrassing, that thread was only days ago! :o Must remind myself to do a seach first next time.
Park Street, that's the street I was thinking of. And Clifton sounds good too. Haven't been on a shopping spree in so long, I can't wait :yay:
Answer:
Don't worry, the search function has only just started working again I think!
Have fun, and report back with what you buy!
Primark Report
NO.5. ask :
Primark Report
1 Attachment(s) My local Primark has so many shoes in at the mo! If anyone is after cheap ballet pumps they've got white, pewter and purple in patent and silver satin finish ones. Think they were all £6/8. I bought these leisure shoes (they're not trainers lol!) for £6 - they're really comfy and nice and neutral. They had cross-over elastic bits (like a ballet shoe?) but I just cut them off when I got them home
ETA Forgot to mention, they had dozens of long-length cotton stripey vests (all different colours including black and white) which I need for layering but none in my size. I also got black cotton gaucho style trousers which are surprisingly flattering on my *cough* prominent bum!
Answer:
1 Attachment(s) They also had a copy of these shoes by J-Lo but instead of matte leather they're a suede type material.
Answer:
Does anyone have apic of the polka dot dress everyone si talking about, I really want one and primark is prob the most I can afford at the mo :o and I can't find it in my local store.
