Irish Ladies - Brown Thomas Tomorrow
20% off day before Christmas :yay:
from 8am to 9pm in all stores - i got an invite in the post, but i am sure they won't stop anyone going in.
Just thought i would share ;)
Happy shopping!
Answer:
I got one of those too, I only ever buy cosmetics there and the discount won't apply to those:(
Answer:
bump ;)
Answer:
I was in there this morning and tbh I was a bit disappointed. As usual there is no discount on cosmetics / fragrance. However, only some of the bags are discounted and you only find this out at the till! Apparently this goes for clothing also. A colleague picked out a pair of jeans, SA got them in her size, tried them on etc. When she went to pay they had no discount. The same thing happened with a coat she bought so be careful!
In saying that there are bargains to be had but I have restrained myself from buying a bag, but fell at the final hurdle in the sunglasses dept. ;)
I have to pick up a coffee machine for Mr FA and there were only 4 which the 20% discount applied to. Ah well - ya can't have it all!!
Answer:
Oh - if you spend €100 on Lancome you get a free bottle of champers ;)

Brown or navy is fine for a funeral. As long as you dress it down, with suitable muted colours.
ETA: I ordered that suit sent it back - the jacket is a bit strangley cut... I dunno if it was just me but it was a bit too short in the length to sit properly..
Answer:
I agree, I went home 2 weeks ago, with literally only jeans and colourful clothes in my case, to be told I had to go to a funeral.
I managed to dig out a brown skirt, and with my coat on over the top, the colour of what I was wearing didn't show.
Also, loads of people said, the family would rather that I was there full stop, that they wouldn't care what i was wearing!

Cheating on application Q !
I need some help from you ladies please!!!
I am trying to fill in a job application, but i have lost all motivation and my mind is just blank - i can't seem to answer the simplest of questions or think of anything inspiring to write!!
So, if anybody could help me come up with an amazing answer so that I can get a berluddy job and stop this downward spiral of self-pity and hoody-wearing, I would be forever grateful !!
The offending question......
What future challenges do you believe lie ahead for high street fashion retailers???
Save me girls!! xxx
Answer:
Hmmm...
Threat from online retailers
Pressure on stores to update ranges with increased regularity (think of how upset we get when TS website isn't updated!)
'discount' fashion retailers (Primark, Peacocks etc) becoming more stylish/acceptable putting pressure on mid range retailers to lower prices
Pressure from consumers over ethical production, sweat shops etc could raise cost of production
Issues with imports from China- will this be resolved or an ongoing issue?
Supermarket clothing ranges offering lower prices and 'one stop shop'
That's all I can think of straight of, will come back if I can think of anything else :)
Answer:
Something about competing with internet retailers, eBay etc?
ETA, sorry, cross post with shiny!
Answer:
Sounds like an interesting job!
For mid and high-end high street I'd say the whole disposible fahsion/Primark situation would be a pretty big threat, both price and design-wise. Also, the aspirational society which leads more people to buy designer, not helped by the credit culture in the UK.
Good luck, I hope you get it! Out with hoodies and on with smart tailoring xx

I would answer something around either of the following:
1) the speed that fashion changes at - how to keep up
2) USP - diversification apart from price in the consumer's mind (ye old quality - value debate).
3)the mass takeover by supermarkets that provide low cost clothes - raises ethical questions about cheap labour exploitation and what it does for smaller brands new designers trying to enter the clothing market..
4) the future of designer clothes - is there one?

TopShop Sequin Belt
NO.5. ask :
TopShop Sequin Belt
You know the one Madonna wore in her recent video? The really bad one.
It's quite wide and stretchy and lots of sequins. And I have it in black.
Anyway, I was wearing it with a baggy white top and jeans on my waist, meeting up with my best friend and she said to me something along the lines of WTF (W being why at this precise moment) are you wearing the belt around the waist?
I thought that's the way you wear it but apparently it sits on the hips! It looks ridiculous on my hips and then I had to take it off because I felt all selfconscious now that my friend had got it into my head it was on the wrong way :(
How do YOU wear it?
Answer:
 Perhaps your friend is a bit behind with the whole fashion thing? I wore my gold wide sequined stretchy belt on my waist the other day and thought it looked cool.
Answer:
Thankyou for the backup, I really felt annoyed at her but hey, she's the one missing out ;)
