Skinny tousers help!
I really really want a pair of skinny-ish trousers to wear with my large collection of boots BUT I can't get a pair that I can actually get in to!!!! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
I am slim size 10/12 and wear size 10 jeans but I just can't get those blasted trousers past my knees without a lot of pain and cutting off my entire calculation!
Is there a shop out there that sells them for normal people that haven't got stick thin legs?
Thanks!
Answer:
I got some quite stretchy black skinny trousers from Miss Selfridgelast year :) They might have more now they're popular. Also I tend to find New Look are quite good for people with thighs and hips :)
Answer:
Second New Look - I have some nice black skinny trousers from there (£2 in the sale :cmeek: ).

How good is AuctionSniper?! (fashion related)

How good is AuctionSniper?! (fashion related)
Oooh I am so happy, just had so share this with you all! I used Auction Sniper on Ebay for the first time last night, and won a GORGE pair of flat black vintage leather boots in great condition for £26 :D Very similar to some I nearly bought in Office for £90 yesterday, and the fact they're vintage means they will be worn in (which I like). Yay!
The auction ended at 9am, but using the sniper meant I could have a lie-in, and then when I woke up, my lovely boots had been won! It was very satisfying to look at the bidding history and see that a couple of very new Ebayers had been having a bidding war for days, and then I won them right at the end! (Is that mean? )
So yep, just wanted to recommend Auction Sniper to everyone (and show off about my bargainous boots!) :D

That's made me feel better :) I've lost my fair share of ebay auctions too!
Clarice...I should have come on here first, I was wondering who to put down as the referrer!
*LoonyPumpkin, if you're around, I put you down as the referrer cos I remember you saying that on another thread*
Answer:
justsnipe.com is great too - 5 free snipes per week. Which is fine since I don't buy that much off ebay and only bid when I really want something.
Comb fascinator thingy

Comb fascinator thingy
I'm going to a wedding on Saturday and bought this
to go in my hair. I have long black hair, about 4" below my shoulder. How should I wear it? At the side? Half up and stuck on the back?
I'm a feather virgin!!
Answer:
There's a few ways really, if you wear your hair down it looks nice at the side (sounds naff but actually looks ok) or you can wear your hair half up half down with the comb in the half up bit. Or you can wear your hair all up and put it in, might be better for a hairdresser or friend to do this though.
Have a fab day;)
Answer:
Oooh, I don't know but it's very nice! I think the 'half up and stuck at the back' idea sounds nice...can't really think of any other way to wear it!
Enjoy the wedding :)
Answer:
Thanks ladies! I just thought it would be nice for a change. I was at a wedding last year and when I seen everyone else's feathers I felt really plain! Hopefully the weather will be good :)
Answer:
If you put the comb right at the top of your head and then slowly pull it down as far as you prefer on the side, you should be able to secure it where you want it. They can be unstable little buggers though. They look nice both with hair up and down - your call really!
It's a nice fascinator :great:
cheaper alternative to APC/Nudie jeans?
NO.4. ask :
cheaper alternative to APC/Nudie jeans?
Hi,
I'd love to buy a pair of untreated/dry denim (I think that's what it's called, excuse my slight ignorance!), and eventually have a pair of jeans that are all my own work, rather than pre-distressed jeans.
The first brands that come to mind are A.P.C. and Nudie/Denim Birds. However, I think these are a little out of my budget.
Any cheaper suggestions still of reasonable quality, i.e. that will still age nicely? I'm in no rush to buy, probably won't be going clothes shopping until Easter.
Or am I just going to have to view them as an investment and cough up the cash?!
TIA
Answer:
Uniqlo did dry denim jeans before Christmas but I don't know if they'll still have them.
My local store in Bristol had Nudies in the sale for £60, so there might be some still around in sales?
It can take a while for your jeans to wear in, depending on how much you wear them, so personally, I think it's worth investing as the jeans will last you for a good few years. I really rate APC, I've got a beautifully worn in pair that I've had for years and years, so I'd always say go for them!
Answer:
popoki, my inspiration ;)
I'll definately try and investigate Uniqlo.
I've got a lot of work on at uni, so unfortunately I'm not sure I can spare the time right now to trawl the remains of the sales.
Thanks for seconded the APCs. I only have one pair of jeans that I wear at the moment, so I shouldn't have any problem wearing another pair in.
Answer:
There's some information on this site with tips about wearing in. I think some people get a bit over the top about it, and worry too much, I just wear and wash when they need it. I don't wash with detergent though, I use some washing ball type things as the detergent can have brighteners which can fade the denim a bit too much.
I'm pondering a new pair of APCs for spring as the pair I bought last year were just too big. :(
Answer:
Thanks for that.
Nobody else?
What shall I wear on top? Oo-err!

Well I bought the famous Galaxy dress out of Topshop today, the Rare one as I thought it was the nicer one on me. In black. I know they are going to be everywhere and the chavvy shops are now selling them but it's a pretty plain dress and I reckon I'll get quite a bit of wear out of it.
I plan on wearing it to my christmas lunch this Thursday but am stumped on what to wear as a jacket? I'm thinking maybe a black fur shrug, what do you think?
Answer:
If you can get to HM they have some lovely cropped jackets. I got one to match my galaxy dress. It has a one button fastening and was only £20. I put a brooch on it and it goes really well. They had some black fur shrugs as well :)
Answer:
Hi Jerrica, is the jacket in the same material as the dress? It sounds really nice, you haven't got any pics have you?:)
Answer:
Is it the cropped tuxedo jacket you mean Jerrica? They are super nice but very short!
Think a fur shrug would look perfect :great:
Answer:
Hi Girl in the city, if it is the same jacket me Jerrica are talking about they come in black and beige and possibly other colours and the material is satiny. I returned mine last week or I would have posted a pic for ya!
