Royal Mail - GRrrrrrr

NO.1. Ask :
Royal Mail - GRrrrrrr
My ASOS parcel has been lost in the post.
And they only have one item still in stock to re-send me.
And it's a pair of tights and not the dress I wanted.
At least I've saved myself some money I spose.
Answer:
How frustrating!!! Keep checking the ASOS site as they often get things back into stock (and change the prices:rolleyes: ) so hopefully you ight get the stuff you wanted eventually! The parcel might even turn up in the end and you will end up with free things ;) :p
Answer:
I can sympathise re Royal Mail - they have been on strike here for nearly THREE weeks!!! Im waiting on sooo many things......
Answer:
bah, i hate them also. i bought myself a belt from retro rebels THREE WEEKS AGO and its not here! the shop have said they'll send me another one, but its still annoying cos i bought a belt buckle to go with the belt which arrived from america 2 weeks ago. grrs

chip and Pin - question about Primark
u know we have to know our pins by today i'm confused cos i noticed when i went into primark on sat (which has literally only just been refurbished in ipswich) still dont accept chip and pin. how is that going to work now? i thought banks werent accepting signed for signitures anymore
    Answer:
I guess they're just gonna have to - shops can't turn away business if they don't have the machines, can they?
I keep hearing on the news that you can get 'chip and signature' cards anyway
    Answer:
Retailers choose whether or not they want to go the chip and pin route.
They have had to pay for the chip and pin terminals, so some have chosen not to, some just haven't got round to it yet. So those retailers will still be taking signatures in the old fashioned way.
Also not everybody has a chip and pin card, so those people will still be signing.
    Answer:
Yeah, Thorntons didn't seem to be accepting Chip and Pin yesterday either! (I bought myself some chocolates to make up for the fact that my OH will be as unromantic as ever today  )
Maybe they just didn't want to put the machines out until they *had* to...I'm sure a big company like Primark will be prepared! Hope so :)

But I thought today was the big changeover day, where everyone HAD to start using chip-and-pin? Thats what we've been told at work (in a bar), we're no longer allowed to accept signatures.

  • Rachel Pally

    NO.3. ask :
    Rachel Pally
Is the fabric she uses and the cut worth spending the extra on?
    Answer:
I don't own anything yet, but I'm getting the gauchos this week. I tried them on in Olive Bette's in NYC last year and they draped very nicely indeed. I probably would have bought them if UO weren't doing their own version. I can't remember if the difference was THAT great TBH, but they're in the sale now so they're mine.
I know annanas has the UO and the Rachel Pally gauchos and I think she said they were pretty much the same but the UO ones bobbled and the Pally ones were a bit more floaty too. I *think*!!!
What are you looking at Pansymouse?
    x
    Answer:
I've got UO and RP gauchos.
The RP ones are a better quality, they drape better and agree with what Madshopper said that they seem to wash better too.
I bought my RP ones before UO did their own version. With hindsight, I probably wouldn't have bothered with the RP ones as I don't think the difference in quality reflects the much higher price.
However that just applies to gauchos - I don't know what the rest of her range is like. I think maybe Mimicat bought a RP dress last year?
    Answer:
Ummm, interesting, there are some jolly nice frocks in her S/S range, plus I've seen the gauchos half price on some website (only have to find it again now:rolleyes: ) I've managed to get bleach on my UO gauchos so they need replacing.

    Hi,
I want to buy a pair , any suggestions to what would be nice or does someone have a pair and what do they think?
    Tks
    Cutie
    Answer:
I have some from about 3 years ago, the visor style ones. The quality is good, they have been dropped, sat on, fallen out of their case and left loose around the bottom of my bag and are still unscathed.
    Answer:
Thanks for that , just I am looking for something away from the normal Dior, Chanel et al.
    Answer:
Yeah, I know what you mean, I also have Prada aviators which I have had for about 5 years, they are also good quality if you see any good ones in their new range!
    Answer:
A girl who was sitting round the pool last year in Ibiza had the most beautiful Cavalli glasses on. They were brown with the arms having a weavy writing RC on the side. Sounds a bit over the top but they were lovely IRL.

    a fashion mission!
I need the help of all you style baggers so on this Tuesday afternoon I set you a challenge.
I’ve been invited to an “assessment day” i.e. interview thing on Friday for a job I am desperate to get. The company are an events agency, it is an events management job (surprise surprise), and I want to dress to impress but not too cool and uncomfortable as it goes on all day! They’re usually fairly laid back set ups so don’t think going down the suit route is the best idea. Who can come up with my perfect outfit?! Nothing uber-fashion but still stylish…?
    Help!
p.s. it probably helps to know that I’m a size 14 … i.e. no skinny minnie outfits please!
    Answer:
How about some smart knee-length shorts and a nice white shirt?
Sorry, Im not feeling very creative today, but you could dress that up with a pair of coloured shoes and some nice accessories....
    Answer:
    smart/casual eh?
I love this wrap style dress form marks and sparks - very flattering, and looks v comfortable too. you could wear it with a pair of black tights, a vest top underneath and a pair of comfortable but funky shoes.

Ooo i really like this look - this is the kind of thing I'm looking for, although the pattern scares me a bit - might make me look fat! Thinking opaque tights and black knee high wedge boots (suede) - or is that too sixties throw back? Do we think shoes are smarter than boots? Oh dear I am getting myself worked up about this. I really want this job!
Thanks for your help so far guys
    x
    Answer:
'proper' fashion baggers will prob correct me if I'm wrong but as the pattern is small on the stomach area, it'll hide lumps and bumps really well. I'm the same size as you and have a similar bw patterned wrap dress which I wore when I was VERY pregnant and it was v flattering. SO flattering that I still wear it now!
That's the great thing about wrap dresses - they grow with you!
Good luck with the job :)
Oh - I think some nice round toed shoes would look lovely with it.
