Good grief! At least I was sat down, and in a SHOE shop! Mind you, they wouldn't give me a pair of shoes, the mean buggers, so I had to wait until the poilce finally came back with the weirdo and my shoe. Metallics spring to mind as the obvious option for shoes, and as it is a prom you could look around for a minaudiere as the style is quite popular this season. I think it will be hard to be more specific without a better idea of your budget. What do you want to spend on each item? It would also help if you could give us a bit more information about what you're looking for; there are hundreds of different types of shoe and necklace, so if you could suggest some styles or colours that you like or dislike that would be useful :)

I've come across a pair of jeans I've had for a year and I think I've only ever worn them once :o Thing is they're a bit too dark so I automatically go for other jeans I have when I'm thinking of what to wear. Does anyone know how I might be able to deliberately lighten or fade them a bit if it's even possible?

Using household bleach will degrade the denim and the material with eventually rot (I know this from bitter experience:()
You can buy special denim "bleaches" now. An old friend used them at fashion college, I'm no longer in contact with her so I can't ask what she used.
I've found a Dylon product called Dylon Easy Bleach but it's on an American site and I don't know about the shipping. In case you want to have a look here's the site .
I've looked on the UK Dylon site but can't find a product like it. It might be worth e-mailing them to enquire if and where you can buy it here It's a very good site and when I've contated them in the past they have replied quickly.
Sorry I couldn't find a product in this country, but I tried (avoiding an ironing pile:D )
Oh, just thought, you may have some luck in a haberdashers. If they don't have the product in store they may well be able to order it in for you.
