E-bay buyers - why on earth do people start bidding with 7 days to go?

NO.1. Ask :
E-bay buyers - why on earth do people start bidding with 7 days to go?
I know it's good if you are selling but WHY do people start bidding so early?
I have to admit I probably piss so many people off coz I don't bid until the closing seconds, at which point I usually swoop in out of nowhere and win!
Answer:
Cos they're bloody idiots! I can understand if you're gonna miss the end of the auction and you won't get a chance to get back at your computer for the ENTIRE duration of the auction and so put your max bid in, but it's the idiots who come back on a daily basis and bid just so that they're the highest bidder!!! GRRRRRRRR!!
There are 2 cardi's that I've got on watch that end tonight and one bidder bumped the price up by on one by a good £20 by just bidding all the goddamn time!! She DID get a message from me telling her to calm the hell down! - stupid bint !
I WILL be winning those cardi's tonight though if it kills me!
Answer:
Depends on the item.
I know some people who put in a bid to knock out a buy it now, but it's a low bid and they snipe at the end. Others are newbies who think that's the only way to bid - come visit my auctions anytime! :D Some people just prefer to put a decent bid on something and let the chips fall where they may.
Me, I'm a sniper there's nothing more satisfying then winning in the last 5-10 seconds by a few pennies. :D
Answer:
Because they are dumbasses
Can you tell I've had that happen on a few items I watched lately?
Answer:
lol me too. I was just discussing this with a friend yesterday who puts her maximum offer in as soon as she sees what she wants to buy!
However the danger with sniping (lol) is that sometimes you lose out on stuff and its even more frustrating for us snipers !

    NO.2. ask :
    Ouch... my new shoes hurt...
My pretty brown shoes with bows on the front hurt me. I wore them once yesterday and daren't wear them again. Thing is, they hurt because they're too big! I stupidly bought wide fit, because I have quite wide feet, and I thought "these will be comfortable" - and they were when I tried them on. But now after walking in them and wearing them for a day, I realised that they're not comfortable at all. My foot kind of slides forwards and they hurt my toes, even with insoles and heel grips in. :(
Am so annoyed because I just don't think I can wear them again and that's £35 down the drain. If I returned them to MS, what are the chances of getting an exchange/credit voucher? Thing is, until you actually walk in shoes, you don't know how they're going to feel. Why didn't I wear them round the house first? Aaargh!
    Here's the shoes:

I suppose my feet aren't quite as wide as I thought they were.
    :boohoo:
    Answer:
Netti, I would suggest you try the "foot petals" from Levante (I got them from mytights.com) before you completely give up on the shoes - they have sorted out a pair of slippy off heels for me.
    Answer:
Thanks Wabbit - have just had a look at their site - might try the Tip Toes or the Killer Kushionz, but am not convinced they'll work. What are your shoes like and which petals have you got?
    Answer:
    Tip Toes that's the ones
They are kind of rubbery surface and stop me sliding forward in the shoe.
The shoes are a bit too high and a bit too wide as well if I'm honest (but when I'm drunk they fit perfectly  and very comfortable for walking long distances). Plus they are very PRETTY and I will take pretty over comfort most days.

    Ebay - editing a listing Q?
I have an item listed with a Buy It Now option which requires immediate payment. Is there any way to edit the listing so I have the BIN but not the immediate payment option?

    Thanks!
    Answer:
Umm haven't tried to take it off, but if you Revise, then go to your payment/shipping page, nearby where you email address for Paypal is filled in, there should be a box that you check to require immediate payment. You should be able to uncheck it save changes.
    HTH.
    Answer:
I was hoping you'd reply :D You seem to know everything about ebay!
I tried that but either you can't do it or I've had a glass of wine too many.
Damn! I have a buyer who wants to buy now but can't pay for a couple of days.
    Answer:
Hmm, not sure what to suggest then, as I haven't had to do that before.
The only thing I can think of is to remove the BIN and re-add it w/o the immediate payment requirement. Will it let you do that?

    TS Mooch jeans
    Hello lovely baggers
I posted this question briefly on the wdybtw thread but need more opinions/answers to my questions.
Anyway with my £50 gift card (thanks to the yellow shoes :P)
I boght my first pair of Mooches, (dark ones) The thing is I'm not sure if I got the right size.
    a) I have heard people saying to buy a size smaller as they streatch when you wear them, I bought a W28 which fit perfectly in the changing room, plus I couldn't get into the w26!! Do you think they will streatch too much.
And b) I have had TS jeans before (Not mooches but most of the other styles) and they have shrunk length ways. I bought a 32" leg, which are perfect in the shop for wearing with flats (not really planning on wearing heels with them) but if they shrink even the tiniest bit they will be too short. Should I have got the 34" which was way too long in the shop???
And finally c) I'm suddenly feeling confused as to what to wear them with, today I'm wearing them with a yellow vest, whcihc is poking out the bottom and top (slightly) of a white short puff sleeve shirt with my black and white converse.
What do you guys wear with your mooches as I know a lot of you are fans. ;)
Wow that was a long post!!
    Thanks in anticipation :p
    PhotoC
    Answer:
I usually can't get into a size 12 jeans in topshop but can in the mooches. I have to tumble dry them after they have been washed to shrink them back. They do loosen to the point i can take them off without undoing the buttons but not to much that they fall down themselves.
I'd say if they aren'ts loose on you now and are a snug fit you will probably be ok :)
Length wise mine are ok. I bought 32's to wear with trainers, timbs and small heels.
I tend to wear mine with dunlops and a tee but suprisingly they look good smartened up too. I've just tried on a combo of mooches with kimono jumper, cinch belt and patent pointy toe flats and it looked good in a 'made an effort in a casual way'.
    Answer:
Yer I'm a bit of a fan of the made an effort on a casual way " look too, like to wear shirts etc with old jeans and converse.
Thanks CIC when you tumble dry your have they shrunk length wways.
Having worn mine al day today I love the fit reound the waist they have streatched but not too much, just really worried they will become too short after one wash, even the smallest shrinkage would be a disaster, jsut the 34" ones seems soooo much longer. I tried the 34 first as I nearly always need a 34 in TS jeans.
    Answer:
If your jeans don't stretch so much that they fall down on themselves i'd be tempted to just wash and not tumble dry. Washing them pulls them back into shape quite a bit.
I don't think mine have shrunk length ways but i've had them over a year now so probably couldn't tell, sorry:o
    Answer:
I did the exact same thing as you, PhotoClaire, and also bought the 28s. They haven't stretched at all though (which is surprising as Topshop jeans do usually with me) and fit me just as well as they ever did (I've had them a good few months now).
Hope that puts your mind at rest!
