Discount shop closing down
Everything for £1 :D So I went in expecting to find a load of tat, and I spent £15 (although only £1 on myself :head: )
I got a lovely pair of asda heels - the elastic on them has snapped but that's easily fixable and they are lush!
I got my mum and sister loads of jeans and cords and some little tops, and Mr FP a pair of jeans, a zippy jumper thing and a pair of shiny leather shoes for work :D
Everything was either Topshop, Asda, Miss Selfridge or Burtons :yay:
Bargainous :D
Answer:
Oooh that sounds good, I bet you got some bargains ;)
Where abouts is this wonderful shop?

Well the one closing down is in Burnley - called 'Steals', but there's still one in Blackburn.
It's great - I got my favourite Miss Selfridge flatties there for £6 and my sister a heavy wool coat for a fiver! And they had that £100 TS gold shopper in for £12.99 :faint:
There's usually a reason (ie my shoes today had a broken strap) but it's usually easily mendable. And usually fading or grubbiness.
I *heart* it muchly - I just avoid the Saturday chavalanche and go on a weekday ;)
Answer:
Wow! I want a shop like that! Do they have them anywhere else? I've never heard of anywhere like that. Is it like a 'seconds' or end-of-line shop or what?
Good bargains FP :)
Answer:
I love going shopping and having to hunt out bargains and sounds like you got some good deal there. The TS shopper for £12.99!!!
Sadly I'm no where near Burnley or Blackburn

I think you've answered your own question there :)
    Buy buy buy!
    Where's it from BTW?
    Answer:
Yeah I like it too :) Not my personal style, but I think it would look fab on the right person, you sound like you have the right attitude to pull it off!
and everyone will ask where you got it from, and you can casually answer 'oh just something I picked up from marc jacobs dahling!'
    Answer:
    Buy it.
I really like it but I think I'm too old to wear cartoonish things now - equally though, if you are very young (under 20) I would avoid it too.
    Answer:
it's from net-a-porter, which has just been updated :). i'm 19 and a student in london, so i reckon neither too young nor old for cartoons. GJ - that's exactly what i planned to do!
i could just buy it now, then if i change my mind later i can always send it back...

Ideas for a coat to go with a party dress?
    H'lo HBers :)
I'm attending a close friend's wedding at the end of March and have decided to wear a silk dress I got from Warehouse during the January sales - I don't have a picture, but it looks a lot like the famous Chloe dress that Tesco copied. It's a bright, deep teal; strappy; has tiers down from the fitted waist and its neckline goes straight across the bust.
It comes down to nearly mid-calf (because I'm a pipsqueak) and I plan to wear it with delicate open-toed, kitten-heeled blue sandals.
I have absolutely no coat that will go with this, however (and I'll need something in March). The first thing that came to mind was some faux fur wrap/shrug or similar, but I thought I'd ask the collective wisdom of here!
Can anyone tell me whether the fur thing would work or give me any other ideas? Suggestions for where to get things would also be greatly appreciated!
    Ta :)

    Answer:
the wrap would work, or a pashmina maybe. This might be a bit of a long shot but what about finding something elegant like an opera coat to go with it, or even being a bit parisian and wearing trench coat belted but not buttoned over the dress.
I remember seeing a black cotton opera coat in Grazia from Marks and Spencer, of all places, but haven't seen it on the site yet.
    Answer:
ah, just reread the top line, the trench coat idea would be too informal for a wedding probably, although the opera coat idea might work.
You could find a beautiful princess line coat in a coordinating colour but that could be expensive, so if i was you, and you know you aren't going to get cold, go for a cordinating pashmina, as i think the faux fur shrugs can look a bit..... well, just not right, really.
    good luck.
ETA: This is the link to what I think is the coat they mentioned in Grazia, not sure i like it so much on the site but thought i would show it anyway http://www.marksandspencer.com/IWCat...uct_Id=1982194
    Answer:
Thanks for your response ellieaness :) That opera coat really isn't doing it for me though! I'd thought about a pashmina, but already have one in emerald green that doesn't go with the dress, and because I don't seem to use it all that much I wasn't sure about buying another one!
I do have a tendency to get cold too so I'm not sure whether the pashmina would provide enough warmth. A proper coat would be stretching the budget too far though.
All things considered the pashmina may be my best option though... unless anyone else has any other ideas? :)

pics of lush quilted snap bag
it arrived this moring after winning it on ebay yesterday in a massive box, but here are the pics. please excuse floral bridget jones esque duvet cover and the fatc I am wearing my jammies in some of the pics, it was about 7.30 and i was too excited to wait to get dressed.
Front on with no flash, is a lighter colour than this but the light to take photos in my bedroom is dreadful.
    from the side
with flash, this is lighter than the colour truly is too
me holding it, this is the 'scuse the jammies moment.
I might try and take some pics in better light later, the leather is quite textured and the bag isn't massive. but it will stop me carrying around a load of junk that I don't need. Hopefully this will help other baggers who are trying to decide whether to go for it.
    Answer:
    Ooh that IS nice!
    Answer:
It looks lovely. I can't really see how big it is in the last pic, my computer is very dark.
