I am lucky enough to be going to New York for a weekend in June, and am wondering what some of the best shopping places are? Unfortunately I can't afford anything like Jimmy Choo! But I would like to keep an eye out for a decent pair of jeans. Also, do they sell Havaianas over there? And if so, does anybody know what the prices are?
I also hope to be stocking up on a few beauty bits! :D Any other recommendations gratefully received!

I'm so jealous! Your best bet is to walk down broadway and/or 5th ave, they are both really really long and run parallel to each other. They have loads of shops, some UK ones like Zara etc, loads of American based ones and also a few department stores (Macy's, Bloomingdales, Saks- v. expensive). Macy's is huge, about 10 floors, if you go remember to go to the tourist information office or whatever it might be called (just ask one of the assistants) and you get a card which gives you a discount (I think its a reduction of the US sales tax). If you're looking for some different shops by upcoming designers try Soho.

Sorry for posting I feel a little bit self indulgent today all because of a stupid boy. Don't want to go into details but it looks like he's having doubts again, but the awful thing is I've been having them for ages but have been too scared to do anything about it coz I feel so old and ugly and shitty know I'm never in a place to meet someone new. How come he gets to be so spiteful?
I never go out ever unless it's with him his couple friends (who I've got close too).
Why does everything seems to work out for everyone but me? All my friends are married or getting married this year having babies own their own house so we only go out for birthdays etc. I live at home commute to his every weekend now I feel like a total loser.
I don't want advice, just for someone to tell me it'll be ok even though I know it won't be.

dolly :hug: first of all you are NOT a loser, not at all young lady and don't let any man, or anyone for that matter make you feel that way! It's very hard when we feel like we're with someone - possibly not for the right reasons, but it's better than being alone and it's secure and then the rug gets pulled from under us, it takes all your control away. But, you said you've been having doubts too and now you have an opportunity to seize life and start afresh. You're a very lovely lady and have bags of charm, humour and style.
