My shoe collection
I have about 120 pairs of shoes :o Having just moved into a smaller flat, I don't have as much space as I used to to store them all. How do you all store your shoe collections?
Answer:
in rows on the top of two double wardrobes BUT there's only 52 pairs and I'm only a size 3 so each pair doesnt take up a lot of room.
if I was you I'd consider making a feature of out my shoes like buying loads of perspex boxes and just stacking them on one wall of your bedroom or something..I live in a small apartment too and I'd love to have all my shoes/bags on display I live here with my husband though so it would be slightly taking the p*ss making it so girly!!!!!!!!
Answer:
Ikea have quite good shoes racks - I can get around 12 pairs on one rack. Bookshelves are also a good idea; I've got a medium-sized one with two shelves that holds in the region of 20 shoes, more if they're kept in boxes.
Underbed storage is also quite good for shoes.
g_k
Answer:
Yeah I keep most of my shoes in boxes on a huge bookshelf, about 8 foot high, 4 foot wide. The others are kept in a huge box which has to go in the loft  (I'm lucky to even get the bookshelf!)
Answer:
I feel your pain as I only have my tiny bedroom to store all my stuff.
i have big storage boxes which stack on top of eachother. I have the boxed shoes at the end of my bed and in my wardrobe and I have spilled over other shoes without boxes into the boxes topshop sometimes send orders out in. you turn them inside out as they are black and white polka dots. THey hold about 5 pairs of shoes each!

prob should be in careers but anyone out there a teacher ?
I really need a career change, I had my daughter a year ago currently doing part time temp work, recycling promoter, but for sometime have I wanted to get into teaching, I have a BA hons media cultural studies 2:1 from 8 years ago, 2 'A' levels; just D's, English Media Studies...too busy parting to take seriously! :o some gcses but not maths ( a d too :o )........ Is there any hope for me at all??!!! I think i'd have to retake my gcse maths as this seems standard. Id love to teach history or anything at primary level, opinions would be most welcome !! many thanks ;)
Answer:
Hi  I'm not a teacher but i hope to be one eventually and found this site really useful
I think you'd have to do the maths GCSE and a PGCE (post graduate certificate in education) as you already have a degree.
Answer:
i teach sometimes but i didn't go to an english school... so i'm probably of no help whatsoever! i teach finnish, and apparently finnish teachers are rather scarce in denmark so pretty much the only requirement was "ability to speak finnish is an advantage"
it's not even my best language :head:
Answer:
Also just wanted to say a 2:1 is usually the requirement to get on a PCGE course though they are pretty competitive. Apparently the best thing to do is apply as early as you can as often its first come first served.
Answer:
 I am!
You'd definitely need to retake your GCSE Maths- you need C grade in Eng maths and science.
You say you'd like to do either History or primary- I'd arrange to do some visits in both primary and secondary schools so that you can get a feel for how different they are! I knew straight away that I didn't want to teach primary and that was confirmed when I visited- eugh!
Most PGCE courses are looking for 2:1 candidates but in shortage subjects- English, Languages, Maths etc they'lll snap you up if you're keen and have a 2:2.
You could consider the GTTP (graduate teacher training programme) which is rather more intensive as you start teaching pretty much straight away- thrown into the lions' den! These pay you at an unqualifed teacher (instructor) level which roughly starts at £14.5 K depending on whereabouts you are in the UK.
I'd give a call and then arrange some placements asap with local schools.
Good luck and HTH!
:D

1) Haven't tried one but have been tempted.I did buy one of those straightening brushes today though to give the GHD's a rest on work days.
2) Not sure, mine does this sometimes too
3) I do too, I don't know why you do but guess it's similar reasons as me in that it won't EVER load up properly and it's segregating Fashion so much, it's actually put me off posting all this week,
How's that?
Answer:
1) Ionised haridryers are in fact very good and I have one and love it!
2) Get a ridge filler to help and buff them weekly
3) I hate it too!
Answer:
1) I love my hairdryer, it dries my hair very well but I don't actually know what the ionising malarky is about! I haven't even heard of those straightening brushes, I just iron mine to death and it's not looking TOO bad at the mo.
2) I wondered if I get the ridges because I wear badly fitting shoes. The backs of my heels have funny lumps that stick out and one of them feels like it's broken all the time. Underneath the lump is sore and it does worry me but not enough to get it seen to.
3) I don't actually know of anyone who DOES like this place. Part of the fun of the fashion board was that it felt like a community, not a place to ONLY talk about clothes in fear of being told off for being naughty and O/T. xx

Hair- Blonde to dark brown!!!
NO.5. ask :
Hair- Blonde to dark brown!!!
1 Attachment(s) Has anyone gone from light blonde to dark brown- I really want too but i am scared I hate it!!!! oooh I might get a blunt fringe too for a dramatic change!!!
Has anyone done it and loved it???
or did you all prefer being blonde??
this is my hair now (attached) do you like the blone- or should I do dark brown?
Answer:
You look lovely blonde.
I used to colour my hair a strawberry blonde, but took the plunge about a year ago to go a dark Chestnut brown as I have dark eyebrows and was fed up of the regrowth looking so obvious.
I now love having darker hair, and it's much easier to look after as it doesn't need as much colour in it, and it looks healther.
I think you would suit brunette, and a blunt fring would really suit you, but maybe do them one stage at a time so you can change your mind! Maybe go darker gradually, so if you decide to not go darker, it will be easier to change.
Answer:
I've been platinum blonde right through to black.
I went from blonde to really dark brown and I loved it..only thing I hated was the roots cos I'm naturally dark blonde.
Go for it! I'm sure you'll love it only thing I would say is beware if you don't like it cos you can't go right back to blonde you've got to work your way back up through the colour spectrum!!
when I came back to my natural colour it took a good six months, I recently went for a few highlights and she made me really blonde again and I was sooo annoyed..returned to dark blonde yesterday though and feel so much better...
god knows how much I've spent on colouring over the years :o
Answer:
You do look good blonde, but then you would look equally as good brown I reckon  I cant comment on the process though as Im a redhead whos never touched dye in her life :cmdunno:
Fab jacket too btw :great:
Answer:
thanks for the answers everyone.
I 've got an appointment in 2 weeks and I still don't know!!!! (but given myself time to think!) Think I might go dark- but not get a fringe- then if I like the dark get the fringe next time.
