Navy blue fifties' style jacket - ideas please
I picked up a very nice little navy blue jacket from Primark at the weekend (they had white and black ones too, but not in my size :mad: ). It's smart, short but not cropped and well-cut, with 3/4 length sleeves and a fairly nipped in waist.
Now I can think of loads of ways to wear it casually, but I'd like to wear it for work as well during the summer, and I'm a bit stumped for outifts. I don't wear a suit to work unless I have client meetings, but I do need to look business-like and smart.
Any ideas gratefully received, particularly for trousers/skirts!

Black trousers and pencil skirts will probably look okay and beige could be quite lovely (and hideous too if worn wrong)

I do like navy and black, but I think it takes work and some clever accessorising - it doesn't really work with smart outfits for me because it tends to end up looking frumpy, sorry.
It *might* work with a black skirt and my navy knee high boots, but that's really not a summer outfit...

How about with slouchy khaki trousers, with a white top or shirt to break it up.

I had Pork loin chop with carrot and swede mash, peas, broccoli and a couple of roast potatoes with gravy.
That was about an hour and a half ago and i'm starving again, must have worms:p

My body is this sort of shape, and, like Drew, I definitely need to wear a bra!
I need a dress for a wedding in the Summer, and I like both of these dresses (although not in black).

They are both from ebay, so I am going to have to take a risk that they will fit. Which would be the most flattering to my body shape?
I'm tempted by Dress 2, but I'm concerned that the bit that should go under the bust won't actually reach under my boobage. I'm also not sure whether I could wear a bra with it, or is it the kind of dress one could wear without a bra?
Any opinions?

I prefer dress 2. It'd emphasise curves and draw attention to your chest. If your worried about the bra issue, could you not buy or try on a top in that style- most shops, TopShop etc stock tops in that style. It'd allow you to see what bra you might need or if you could get away without, etc.

Ooh, it has to be the second one! It looks much more structured and a nicer fabric - not a fan of chiffon, I'm afraid!
They're both waist cinchers and could be unflattering on the bottom though, what's the junk in your trunk like? I have a quite slim frame but a huge bum and stay away from waist cinchers and empire lines and try and find something more cut on the bias from the hips down.
What colours were you thinking of?

Morning everyone - hope you're all okay :)
Question ..How long do bruises tend to last for? I was "play-fighting" with Hot Boy on Saturday and he repeatedly punched on my arm cos I kept kicking him in the balls (as you do) and now I've got 3 dark bruises and it's really painful when you press down on them.
I'm sure there's no lasting damage but I'm just a bit conscious
about weaing short sleeved tops at the mo :o

Depends. It takes me about 2 weeks for bruises to go personally from when Mr Lucy injures me.
You could always walk around and play the 'beaten woman' to get sympathy ;)

I normally find darker bruises change colour and end up looking worse.
You could always buy some Bruise-ease, that should get them to go quicker and help them fade better.

I posted a thread in Health last week cos I banged my arm - it turned into a huge blue lump!! Its still in a lump and has now turned purple, v attractive!!!
I reckon about 10 days - fortnight hon, depending on how deep they are. I think they actually look worse when they start to fade and turn yellow!

He was punching me with his knuckle (he was aiming to bruise!) and had me in some mad headlock so I couldn't break free and kept doing it in the same places over and over again hoping to give me a dead arm (he's not really as bad as I'm making him out:lol: ) and now I have a 3 bruises in a triangle shape!
It bloody better not turn yellow! My arm already looks like I haven't washed it for a week!!
