Black dress (fancy)
1 Attachment(s) Helloooo! help desparately needed. I am going to a ball, and I have an idea of what I want to wear- a black dress with red shoes. I have bought totally amazing red shoes already (see picture) peep toe killer heels. I had an idea for the dress- I want it to be knee length/calf length at longest, black, with a big skirt like net or something... a bit SJP stylee. I don't mind strapless or with straps, but not sleeves. Was thinking a sweetheart neckline, thick straps, fitted bodice then the big skirt...well I have ideas as you can see, but can't find a brilliant black dress. Any suggestions/pictures of great dresses? Just looking for high street, not on a big budget! PLLLEEEASE try and help! thanks xxx

Hello,
Don’t know where you will find anything like that, but could you not customise something yourself?
I have a floaty black skirt from Miss Selfridge that’s knee / calf length and underneath it has a couple of layers of tutu material so that it sticks out a little bit, its not on the website as I got it before Christmas, but if you scour the stores you may find it.
Or you could by a very full floaty black skirt and either buy a tutu from an adult dance shop to put underneath or buy a few meters of similar netting material and sow it in yourself (or take to a dress maker) if you do this start the netting from about mid thigh as it will hang nicely rather than sticking out from your waist.
Then I’m sure you will be able to find a black top in the style you want and to either clinch it in or to hide slight colour changes between the skirt and top you could wear a black waist clinching belt.

I need your wisdom - help my customise my T-Shirt!!!
1 Attachment(s) Hey guys,
I'm going on a uni bar crawl tomorrow night and we have all been given a t-shirt to wear. I have attached a pic. It is a normal t-shirt but in a small size. I am wearing black hotpants and pink and black striped over the knee socks and spiky heels (oh yes I am going for it!).
I want to customise the t-shirt so that it fits with the outfit. I have lots of ribbon and can also get some sequins/buttons etc anything really! I was also thinking about cutting out the back and making it backless?? What do you think? Ideas needed thanks!!!
Answer:
I went to one of these - Carnage. Me and my mates just took a pair of scissors to our tshirts. They were like large mens size so we sort of cut away the sleeves and down one side to tie it tighter. (If that makes sense)
Heres the website for carnage, with the photo galley maybe u could find some inspiration? Carnage Not sure if any of them used sequins, ribbons etc, just cut them up and took a permenent pen out. Have a good night ours was fantastic, your outfit sounds really fun!!
Answer:
How about cutting out the sides and lacing ribbon up the side?
Or sewing beads/sequins along the hems/sleeves/neck.
Cutting out the back sounds good - is there any way you could hem the sides so they don't look raggy? I think they'd probably curl up a bit otherwise.
Not very creative tonight I'm afraid, sorry!
Answer:
as what Bib said down each side, then make a flower out of the ribbon by double looping it and pinning it on like a corsage. Look at the laden showroom website for inspiration as they have lots of funky customised t-shirts. Not sure of the website, just search under google for laden showroom and it will come up, good luck!
Answer:
Thanks guys! Thats definitely given me some ideas! I think I'm going to cut the back out and use ribbon to make it look like the back of a corset. That will fit with the moulin rouge theme of my outfit!
MBx :yay: :)

Pretty much everything you would wear with trousers.
They are great in summer with a little vest top :)
