(that's to the frank theme tune btw)
see, before i cam here there's no way i'd have recognised what designer a pair of shoes were by, however i was out last night and there was a girl with the most stunning pair of shoes and i knew that they were from office but they were a copy of the miu miu platforms, my friends all looked quite shocked when they realised the words that had come out of my mouth  :yay:

LOL!!!
here is definitely a great source of fashion info. but so are mags, online sites, fashion tv, fashion related businesses, etc. ;)
I love here though and think it was one of the best sites Ive ever found! ;) (even though Ive been interested in fashion since I can remember! :) )
Answer:
i've always read fashion magazines etc, i've just never learnt as much as i do here!

Me neither! I think it's because you browse through mags without taking much notice (well, I do anyway!) and on here it comes up in 'conversations' so you take it in.
I can't wait to get a laptop at work so I can take it home and Bag in the evenings :mwahaha: I'll never talk to my OH again!
Answer:
I know the feeling!
After I'd started frequenting this forum I found myself shopping with friends and pointing stuff out, telling them ooh this would look good with that, you can't mix stuff like that together, etc etc, and I could just hear here coming out!
It didn't sound like me at first. Now I feel normal saying it :)
outfit Help
NO.3. ask :
outfit Help
Hello  Just after a bit of help. Tis my birthday in just under 2 weeks; cannot wait :yay: Going out with the girls on the night time and trying to plan my outfit!
I was thinking skinny indigo jeans from DP's tucked into black knee high boots. Quite fancied maybe a dress over the top. a) I haven't seen any and b) pref without sleeves.
Any ideas/recs?
x
Answer:
Hi Scobby!
Why not go for a nice halterneck/long line strappy top instead of a dress? Just an idea as it might be easier to find!
You could always accessorize it with lots of bracelets or huge/long necklaces!
Also, since it is your bday and you will be the centre of attention, would you not consider wearing something a bit more formal such as a dress or skirt/strappy top combo?
I just think that skinnies are more of a casual thing...but then again, thats just me and of course you can dress them up with the right top/accessories :)
Answer:
I thought of a skirt but don't have a cluuuuue where to start?? arg!
Answer:
I also thought, why wear jeans when it's your bday :yay:
You could wear some city shorts with a halterneck like Miss Sofia suggested.
Or a lovely demin mini (don't ask me where I desperately want one myself  ) with aformentioned halterneck top.
OR you could just wear a dress with some opaques and the boots you said.
If you really want to wear your skinnies, there are some lovely dresses in TS on the rails with random stuff on them.
My new Lush bag has just been delivered!

My new Lush bag has just been delivered!
I got a black quilted snap and it's lovely! :yay:
The leather is such good quality and I'm loving the suede lining - makes it feel much more like the real thing. Now I've just got to explain how yet another bag has found its way into the house to Mr Stoli! ;)
Answer:
Piccies Piccies Please! :)
Yay!
Answer:
Really looking forward to piccies of this as I NEED ;) a new black bag.
Answer:
Unfortunatley I can't post any pics, Mr Stoli has gone on a training course for 2 weeks and taken the camera with him - how selfish! I could take a photo with my phone but I have no idea how to upload them :o technology is not my strong point!
I bought it from Natalie on ebay, she is so good - speedy delivery too!
Answer:
YAAAAAAAAY!
so exciting..... piccies piccies, please!

Fashion students - which uni?
NO.5. ask :
Fashion students - which uni?
I have to apply for uni in about a week and have been far too laid-back about the whole thing until now, when i'm panicing slightly :faint:
I was just wondering if there are any students studying fashion, and if so, where?
Answer:
I went to London College Of Fashion. It was quite cliquey as far as the students were concerned and not very social but the lecturers and outside links to the college are second to none.
I've also heard that Derby is quite good and Brighton has a very good reputaion.
Answer:
Surrey Institute of Art and Design is quite close to London in Epsom and good reputation, has good links. However, it does look really horrible and 70's college and is very small.
Answer:
weenie - do you work in the fashion industry now?
Answer:
I did ellieaness and sort of do now too in that I run a boutique but I worked for two big magazines and then went into fashion and beauty PR for a few years for some really good clients.
My PR tutor at LCF was just amazing and really supportive. I don't have a bad word to say abnout any of them except the bitchy old queen that taught fashion analysis and that's unusual for me as I don't usually get on with teachers. They have fantastic opportunities for students in work placements and visiting lecturers and have a very good track record of employment after studying.
I do agree that surrey is a very good place to go and has a very good reputation within the industry but you should have a look at the LCF website for courses they're running.
