I think the straps are too wide and make it look a bit older. If you can ruche them up with a bit of ribbon it would look much better.

I know there have been a lot of threads on french sole, but I've done a search and can't find this exact topic.
Basically, would you go for the lowcut (55 quid) or the pirouette (65) ballet flats - the latter are meant to be lowcut too, but with a rigid sole. Also, how do the sizes of both styles run relative to each other, if anyone knows? I know the lowcut are meant to run small, but haven't seen anything about the pirouettes...and as I'm ordering from Sydney, I need to get the sizes right!

As they have a rigid sole i would consider getting these, as they could last longer/be more sturdy, but i do like the really sloppy look of the lowcuts. This is only because I wear out shoes at an alarming rate.

Would you say that the lowcut are not very hardwearing then? e.g. can you wear them when it's wet outside? I like the sloppy look too, but I'd like them to last a reasonable length of time for 55 quid!

I don't own them, this is what put me off.
I had some office ones, bought in early October, with rigid soles, to be fair I wear them most of the time, but by the beginning of january they had a huge crack in one of the soles and a hole in the side, where my foot is wider than the actual sole.
I would be concerned with the lowcut, that as they are totally sloppy and soft, the side leather would touch the pavement and i would wear them out quicker. But that's my feet.
I did see a girl in the French Sole shop wearing the low cuts and they looked totally fabulous, really sexy. I haven't helped your decison much though have I?

i have a couple of pairs of lowcuts and they wear fine, i wore one pair out but it took about two years to do and i'd wear them whatever the weather so it wasn't really unexpected. they didn't wear out through the sole though, my pinkie toe came out through the side on one shoe :eek: :lol: it happens sometimes, i have weird toes...
