What are you fashion girls having done to your hair?
Trying to stop doing another OT thread:lol:
I'm getting my hair done friday. I usually have mainly blonde but with brunette streaks through too (does not look streaky stripes though i can assure you!) and a blunt fringe taken from about a third back which grows into a side fringe after a month or so. I have all layers put through it for some oomph and it's about bra strap length at it's longest point.
I really can't decide whether to have more dark streaks through and have my fringe taken from the crown though:uzzle:
I've asked the OH and get the usual male 'i dunno it's up to you' answer:rolleyes:
    Can anyone help:cmdunno:
What are you guys having done or have had done to your hair recently and are you happy with it?
    Answer:
I'll happily post another pic of my new hair style. Although sadly my face and skin are nowhere near as nice as the models!
I've had less colours put through the front, just honey/caramel shades as I needed to tone the look down a little for work.
    Answer:
My hair involves a thick side fringe, one chunk of layers about chin length and then loads of layers through the ends. It's about two inches above my bra strap and curly.
    Answer:
(You already know this, but I'm feeling talkative tonight :p )
I had mine cut today. I got a thicker fringe put in (it was done from the crown), and my usual layers. I'm desperate to have some lovely dark lowlights sliced through, but I'm trying to let the sun bleached bits (I dyed my hair darker, then when it tried to go blonde in Rome it turned kind of orange :o ) grow out so shouldn't be faffing with colour too much.
I'm just going to wait til the Summer now, get myself abroad and I'll be all light blonde again! You're looking at my winter colour - I've got some random blonde streaks where the sun's caught it in the playground, but nothing major.
Sorry, I'm not being much use am I! :o
I still really like the colour Nicole Ritchie had hers when she first cut it into a bob, if you remember the pic? Didn't you have your colour based on that once?
Here's my hair again (blatant showing off after everyone was so nice in Good Bad :p )
    Answer:
I'm having my hair coloured friday too.
I've going from dark brown to having light browns/golds and blondes.
I shall get my fringe trimmed aswell, but I was thinking of having it cut further back too. Each time I have it trimmed I ask for it to be cut from further back, but it still just doesn't 'feel' right.
My friend has hers cut from the crown and it looks gorgeous! I think you should CIC.

  • skirts vs. not-so-pretty ankles..

    NO.4. ask :
    skirts vs. not-so-pretty ankles..
OK, so my ankles aren't my best feature by any means. I was reading through TrinnySusannah's book last night and they keeeeep going on about how to disguise this ghastly feature and how you can't wear this and you mustn't wear that etc. They keep ranting on about Trinny's chunky ankles - ffs, her ankles are shapely compared to mine!! I don't like my ankles much - they are quite thick and not particularly pretty, which means i feel confident wearing a skirt with boots (in fact, am wearing this today :)), but the boot season is over soon - does this mean I'm condemned to wearing trousers for the rest of the spring/summer/early autumn?! Bit excessive perhaps, but that's almost how I feel. I mean, I do wear skirts but I never feel as good with my ankles on show. Cropped trousers are the worst look for me, sort of pigs' trotters effect.. ugh...:o I also usually avoid flat shoes as they make me feel fat! And I never wear shorts if I can avoid it. I'm a size 10 and 5'6" btw, so I don't think I'm particularly gianormous or anything.
So what do others with this dilemma do? What's the most flattering skirt type/length and shoe/heel combo? Or should I just stick to trousers...?! I wouldn't be seen dead in a floor length gypsy skirt btw, so that's not a solution!
    Answer:
I read in a Colour Me Beautiful book once that to find your perfect skirt length, grab a skirt, place it against your front and then just move it up your leg until it ends at a spot that's the most flattering for your legs.
In terms of a shoe, I'd say that dainty heels are a no-no and you should go for a heel that's slightly chunkier (but not too chunky) to balance out your ankles. A higher heel height would also make your legs look longer and slimmer.
Also stick to matching your tights to your shoes - although obviously this is not as easily done in the summer when the weather is warmer.
If you don't want people to look at your bottom half then wear more eyecatching things on your top half - experiment with jewellery and pretty scarves to draw the eye upwards.
    :)
    Answer:
    Hi Czoona
me too, I don't have cankles but definitely my ankles aren't a highlight for the onlooker :(
Don't you just LOVE boots? I hate the summer and will cling on to boots as long as possible.
I thought wedges might work last summer (TS influenced) so bought a pair but then someone on here posted about women in wedges looking like pigs trotters................... and I saw that it was true! Especially since I have small feet too. And then everywhere I looked I saw women who looked like pigs from the back. Curse the fashion forum, I wouldn't have noticed it otherwise!
Bit boring but what works best for me are mules with a heel. No flats, no ballet pumps, nothing that comes too far up the foot.
I also find that court shoes with highish heels look okay for spring and autumn with matching tights like Jasmine says.
    Answer:
    Re: skirts vs. not-so-pretty ankles..
but the boot season is over soon
Assuming you are somewhere in the UK, I reckon you can get away with wearing boots for a good couple of months yet. I seem to remember wearing boots in June last year (tan leather ones so slightly less wintery).
    Answer:
I'd say your best length would probably be just below the knee and never wear shoes with ankle straps. A heel with a slip on shoe works best because it elongates the leg. Trinny and Susannah's dvd is really good and you can get it for less than £5 on amazon.
