Holiday Clothes!
Right ladies..help me!
Im going away in two weeks (carribean cruise courtesy of the inlaws :yay:) and need some clothes. I've got the basics what I have left to buy, I would like to last me into the summer. I just got a pair of city shorts and would like yto wear them on a couple of nights but am unsure what shoes tops to get to go with them. Any advice?
Also looking to get another couple of outfits that I can mix n match dress down for when I get home. Am going shopping in Aberdeen this weekend and Glasgow the next so have access to all the shop 'usual suspects'!
Cheers m'dears x
Answer:
Hmm, well, on my list would be:
Bikinis
Sarong
A few vest tops/silk camis
A silk kaftan
2 pairs of flip flops (1 for beach, 1 for evening)
Wedges
Strappy heels
Shorts
White linen trousers
Silk/sequin scarf
Summer dress
Dressy skirt
Pashmina/shrug
Belt
Wrist purse/here
Sunglasses
Maybe denim mini and denim crops too - that's all I can think of, but I'm sure I've missed something!
With city shorts, I'd probably wear wedges and a silk cami, or just a plain vest top and to dress them up a bit add a silk/sequin scarf and some strappy heels.
Try and stick to colours that will all go with each other, so you can mix and match and maximise wearage of what you pack! I normally go for cream/white/turquoise/brown (with a bit of black thrown in too - failsafe, goes with everything but on the downside, attracts the heat too!).
Have a great time - you can't help but love the Caribbean! :beach:
Answer:
Ticked most of those boxes so :yay: I have 6 bikinis - does that seem like a lot to anyone else? :o
What I'm looking for is to buy some smart/casual outfits for at night that will work when Im back here for weekends stuff. Ive never really been that experimental with clothes lurking around the fashion boards is making me want to try new things = hence the city shorts!
Answer:
city shorts are awesome. wear them with longer length sparkly camis, babydoll tops and tunics, which you can then wear with skinny trousers when you get back home. wedges with a woven heel and black or metallic detailing (Topshop, Gap) would look good with light coloured city shorts, or you could try detailed ballet flats or dainty heels. anything other than boots, really. tailored short shorts are also top banana - if you want to be a bit different, try them with knee high socks and sandals when you get home. silk scarves knotted around the neck are my cruise favourites and will make you look super sophisticated when you get home too. have a great time :)
Answer:
If the shorts are quite fitted, I'd go with baggier tops or babydolls as hyperballad says. I've got a batwing slash neck one that I wore with mine in the summer.
If they're baggier shorts, I'd go for something more fitted. Erm, not much help am I?
You can look at the Mango catalogue on line for inspiration. They have loads of shorts in there and some of the outfits are quite fab.
As for shoes, strappy sandals look nice e.g. gold, but again, it depends on the shorts.

Fringe - is it easy?
NO.2. ask :
Fringe - is it easy?
Hi. I have shoulder length black hair, kind of straight but with a wave (blame my mother when she used to plait my hair) am seriously thinking about a fringe. I have a centre parting and it just doenst budge! Is there a way that it can be cut where it will be easier for me to keep. At the moment I have hair up in a pony...and it looks so boring!
Answer:
Me too - I've found it easier with a fringe (had mine for almost 3 years now and won;t go back for the foreseable!)
although I do have poker straight hair which makes it easier to cope with . . .
Answer:
your hair will eventually settle into a fringe,if thats what you mean-you might have to use a hairdryer and brush then GHD it for a few months to make it lie straight though!
My hair is straight with a few wavy kinks, and I have a fringe,it lies fairly straight but it took a while for it to do so.
Answer:
I have very wavy hair and even if I don't straighten the rest of my hair, I always straighten my fringe or it goes all curly :o
Also - beware of it getting wet!!
Answer:
I have wild loose curls and I have a side fringe. The natural wave means it smooths itself to one side neatly, although if I let it get too long it flicks out and I end up looking like a bedraggled Farrah Fawcett :head:
I've never had to train it though, it's always done it.
80's Movies
NO.3. ask :
80's Movies
Hi
I'm going to a fancy dress party on Saturday and the theme is 80's movies. Can think of loads of bloke characters which would be easy to do but no distinctive women characters.
Unfortuantely I don't have any time off work and shopping is limited where I live so if you have any ideas I'd be grateful.....
Thoughts so far is someone from Fame?? but haven't seen the film (I know thats shameful!).
Any ideas??

Answer:
Molly Ringwald's character in Pretty in Pink ?? chuck on loads of clashing prints (floral particularly) with a hat. oh and you MUST wear fingerless gloves !
Or, if you're more of a rock-chick - how about Madonna in Desperately seeking Susan ? footless tights, little black trainers/boots, ra ra skirt, layered vests (one preferably in mesh), black leather jacket, big bow in hair and hair teased all to hell - oh and you MUST wear fingerless gloves !
Answer:
What about Madonna in Desperately Seeking Susan: leggings, layered skirt, ballet pumps, lots of jewellery, crucifix, decorate denim jacket, hairband, etc or even Madonna in Who's That Girl: Short blonde wig, bright red lipstick and dark eyes plus white strapless dress.
