I've got an interview for a dream job fundraising at a big charity tomorrow morning and i'm currently surrounded by piles of clothes attempting to find the perfect outfit, having been told by the recruitment agency that this charity value 'a highly professional appearance above nearly everything else'(!) The university where I currently work is very relaxed and we only have to dress up or wear suits when we have external meetings.
My current options are:
1)Black knee length pencil skirt with nautical style buttons on front.
Black cashmere roll neck
Choc brown tweed 50s jacket
Big amber beads over roll neck.
Round toe wooden heeled courts.
2) Black short sleeved wrap dress over
White long sleeved shirt with big collar
Same beads and shoes as before.
3) Cream silk/chiffon pussy bow blouse with tiny cream polka dots, over a white vest
Same pencil skirt as before.
Kitten heel, round toe teal courts with a woven toe.
Any thoughts or suggestions girls?
(Oh and I'vew been told by my current boss that i'm 'very young looking' and should alwyas dress older than i think i need too, hmmm :o )

Are they a traditional company? If so do you have a suit? Because they say:
value 'a highly professional appearance above nearly everything else' I think a suit might be the best idea.
Or are they quite a fashionable/funky/young company?
If so then I think you might be able to get away with one of the outfits mentioned.

It's a big childrens charity, but I get the impression they're quite funky. But the job I'm going for invloves lots of meetings with prospective donors to the charity so I'd have to be uber smart for these and I think I do need to wear clothes to make me loook older sometimes... :o
The main problem is that I don't actually *own* a suit!
Just separate jackets and skirts.

Do you have a pencil skirt of failing that just a plain black skirt. I would say go for that, black heels and white shirt with a delicate necklace. Stick to plain clothes and nothing to "fashiony"

I need some suggestions and help!
I have recently become single after 5 years. Its been about 6 weeks but Im still not back to my normal self totally - e.g confidence wise. But, I am going out for my best mate's new bloke's b'day on Friday and I need to look fabulous - for me really. I want to feel gorgeous and confident (lots of people I don't know going). But i am just not sure what sort of thing to wear that will look cool but not look like Im trying to bag me a man!
I am not a fan of skinny jeans btw, just not confident in them. I have dark blue boot cut jeans, black pencil skirt, lighter blue diesel low cut bootcuts.....but I kinda feel I want a new glam look.
Ideas? I want to get ahead in case I nee dto pop to teh shops or go online!

I got a fab Galaxy style dress and wide belt from Miss Selfridge on Friday which I wore out on that evening. I felt quite foxy in it especially after two yoofs passed me saying "Phoar, look at her" :D Very gratifying at 43!

I tried on a wicked pair of platform style suede and patent loafers in oasis this weekend saying to Mr CiC
"Oooo let me just try these on, i could never buy anything like this as they would make me taller than you"
So i try them on and guess what? :D We are the same height, he may possibly have been half inch taller :D
I didn't buy those ones although i was very tempted but at least now i know i don't have to rule them out ;)
