boots or shoes with skirt
i bought a skirt out of wallis at weekend...its a patterned funcy skirt  in rather beutral colours...grey,stone, coffee, mushroom
I have a warm stone linen/sack cloth type safari type jacket to go with it or a light cream military style one
I also got a big brown chunky belt to sling round me hips
Now im a short arse..and im hoping to work this outfit to a work thing...but dont know whether boots or shoes would look better..i would like boots...but ive large calves and i fidn it hard to get wide fitting chocolate brown boots
anyone have any suggestions? or would i be better with shoes...if so what type..open toes sandals/wedges/stilletos
Answer:
I think either - it just depends on the look you're after - boots will tend to make it more casual and shoes will tend to make it less casual (depending on the shoes, fo course).
But it would help if you posted a picture of the skirt.
BTW, Duo Boots (do a search on Google) do boots in different calf widths and have a wide range of styles and heel shapes.
:)
Answer:
i think a pic would be good too :) i also have major trouble with boots and find evans good - i know it sounds weird but my feet are tiny compared to the rest of me and evans boots always fit! although they dont have much in store.
Answer:
thanks...dont have pic im afraid..looked up wallis site but its not on there . sorry
but thanks for advice and suggestions..ive been on duo site and evans...though nothing jumps out at me
i would prefer boots..as I havent got brown boots anyway even to go with jeans

At last - New Look red ballet flats!

At last - New Look red ballet flats!
After my recent posts about red ballet flats and red mules - deciding I liked the flats I'd bought, then deciding I didn't... have bought these today and love 'em - tried the MS red mules on again today, but when I walked around a bit, I was crunching my feet up to keep them on. Went to New Look tonight, and here's the result - am pretty pleased with myself - once again, I'm sticking to my rule of 'if in doubt, don't buy/keep'!!
Hope you like 'em!
Answer:

Answer:

How much were they?
Answer:

Answer:

half price miss sixty perkins
just managed to bag these from kays website-half price!!!
whats the sizing like on miss sixty jeans??
Answer:
Miss sixty perkins?! :D
I only have one pair of miss sixty jeans and they are a 28 whereas I take a 27 in FAMK so I think they come up quite small.
Answer:
hmmm, thats what i was thinking bella-the small thing
well, i ordered a 16, and because they are low rise, im figuring they'll sit on my hips ok
Answer:
Miss Sixty jeans are teeny. I couldn't get themto go past my flippin' knees when I tried a pair on a few years go. I haven't bothered with them since!
Answer:
well, we'll see but i thought i could always send them back if they dont fit or something.
starting to think im a bit rubbish :o :(
office Christmas lunch outfit
NO.5. ask :
office Christmas lunch outfit
This year my office is having a Christmas lunch out rather than a dinner. It's on the Monday before Christmas and I'll be off all week so will be going straight from home to the restaurant. Most people, though, will be at work in the morning and so will be dressed quite casually (we don't have a dress code in my office). So, I want to look nice but not overdressed (both in terms of what everyone else is wearing and the fact that it will be lunchtime!).
So, I'm thinking long camisole (maybe in a teal or emerald shade) and a nice bolero/shrug (not a sparkly one, though) worn with jeans and either boots or silver ballet flats. Whaddyathink? Are jeans just never a good idea for an office Christmas do? Has anyone seen any nice long-sleeved but not sparkly shrugs? Any better ideas?!
Thanks all...
Answer:
Your planned outfit sounds fine to me.
However, if the rest of the people will be in suits then I'd wear something similar.
:)
Answer:
Hiya!
I think once the jeans are a nice cut and are not a casual brand, then you should be fine. I have seen some long sleeved shrugs in Zara and HM. I would go with ballet flats for comfort, but that's just me. Will the camisole be a silky or a cotton one? What jewellery will you be wearing?
Answer:
Ooh, so many things to consider...
Jeans are Sevens but I'm wondering if a darker denim would be better and a bit dressier looking. Camisole will be silky (haven't actually bought it yet, but I've seen some nice ones) and ballet flats will be silver sparkly ones. Jewellery - I always wear the same jewellery as I have a few classic pieces bought for me as presents that I never take off, but hmmm, guess I should have a think about what else I could buy to go with this imaginary outfit!
Note sure what colour of shrug as don't want sequins. I've seen some lovely silvery grey ones but that might be a bit drab with the rest of the outfit....
Answer:
Oh no, Sevens would be perfect. My 7FAMK are my smart jeans! It would depend on what colour camisole you are going to get. A deep navy or jade green would be perfect with a silvery grey shrug. I would get a nice dressy bag and the shoes sound lovely. What about silver dangly earrings with a design that would bring out the colour of the camisole?
