O/T Impressive but easy food!!
:letseat:
Sorry for the totally O/T thread but I trust you ladies! Has anyone got any suggestions for a meal which will impress my boyfriend but that I have a chance of cooking without burning anything/ anyone?! Oh and that's not going to take me all night to prepare! Realised last night that he always cooks really nice food for me or we go out for nice meals, but when it's left to me it's pizza or something from MS! He likes most things but thinking steak or something would go down well!

Hi Karina,
this one is easy and normally does the trick!
Get 2 large chicken breast and slice them both in half so they flip open. Put strong chedder or stilton if you like it in the middle, flap the top of the breast so it's all together again.
Get some streaky or normal bacon will do and wrap it round the middle of the chicken breast like a roll. Bung them in an oven tray, drip some olive oil over them and a few herbs (Basil, Rosemary, Oregano) and leave them on for about 30 minutes.
Voila, tasty chicken. It's nice if you put spinach in the middle with the cheese too. It's really easy and quick. You can serve with potatoes (mash/new/jacket) and some veg or salad.
Good luck! x

Oh, forgot, what about Bruschetta to start - really easy just slices of french bread toasted, rub with some garlic and put cut up tomotoes and onions on and drizzle some green pesto over the top.

Hmmm, not to good on recipes, I have things I can make but not sure I would be able to give anyone a proper recipe as such.
However, MS do that 'Lets cook' range (or whatever its called) annd I can recommend the salmon with soy sauce and the steak with pepper corn sauce. You could even get their side dishes to go with it. Easy-peasy.
Also, Tesco have these pork chops stuffed with cheese and something else which i can't remember but they look impressive when the come out of the oven and I impress a boy with them. I'm sure they were £3 aswell - bargain!
Answer:
How about a nice roast chicken?
The packaging on the chicken should tell you how long to cook it for.
As for the rest, well I roast all my veg, peel you spuds, boil fast for 10-15 mins, drizzle a bit of oil on then and shake a little flour (while they are still in the pan) makes them nice and crispy.
Carrots and parsnips, peel and chop to the size of the spuds, drizzle these with oil and cook all the veg for the same time the chicken takes, can chuck in an onion (pelled and quartered) and some whole garlic cloves (peeled too)
Also morrissons do some nice lamb shanks, ready to bung in the oven they are sold in a box and you get 2 for a fiver I think.
Need impossible to find boots!
NO.3. ask :
Need impossible to find boots!
Hello!
I need some knee-high boots. I want to be able to wear them with skirts, they need to be smart, and I like the close fitting look, so perhaps even pull-up style rather than real zip-up leather.
Thing is I don't like pointy-toes, and haven't been able to find any round-toed ones that are any good. Most of them have wierd detailing or trainer-style soles that mean they aren't smart enough for what I want. Also I really wanted a little kitten heel.
I have seen these (La Redoute) but would have prefered a slightly higher heel. I have some round toes ankle boots with a 5inch kittenstyle heel and I wear them all the time. But obviously not with skirts... At this time of year I would love to be wearing full skirts with boots but the only ones I have are the slouchy suede ones, which I wore with denim skirts in the autumn. I don't think they are right with fuller skirts though.
Anybody seen anything at all like what I'm going on about?
Thanks so much for ploughing through all this waffle!!
Answer:
Also, what do you think of these? I love them (have only seen them on line so may not like so much IRL).
Do you think they would be OK now with dark tights and perhaps wool turn-up shorts?
Are they going to be out of fashion about 10 days after I buy them?!
Answer:
1 Attachment(s) what about these from next? only £34.99
Answer:
I got an excellent pair last year from Jones the Bootmaker. Dunno if they'd have any left by now, but it's worth checking if they do. They'd be on sale now :)
Answer:
Those shoes are lovely! I think they'd be really versatile, although I can't help much with the boots.
Make my wardrobe new II
NO.4. ask :
Make my wardrobe new II
Inspired by Tiny's thread ( ) earlier in the year, and in an attempt to drag myself out of my fashion rut, here are a few of my staple items (carefully selected at random). Any suggestions on what to wear them with will be gratefully received. Outfits that would be OK in an office (smart dress code) are especially welcomed!
-- Black jersey very swirly trousers, kind of like long-length gauchos
-- Charcoal grey/black cropped trousers
-- Chocolate brown trousers
-- My collection of v-neck/round neck snug-fitting jumpers!
Awaiting replies with bated breath...

Answer:
The brown trousers should be quite versatile - here's a couple of outfits I wear for work with mine:
I'm sure someone infinately more stylish will help you with the rest :o
Answer:
I really like those, Curls - especially the long jumper and the beads :) Where's it from?

Answer:
The jumper is French Connection, the beads and bangles from New Look.

Cheers :) They're both really nice outfits (and very stylish too, I might add); I must get some more teal in my life!

does this sound OK?
NO.5. ask :
does this sound OK?
I've got my interview for MAC tommorrow :D
I've sort of planned my outfit. I just need the nod of approval from you experts ;)
What I'm thinking is
Black cullottes
Black long v-neck
Black sparkly vest underneath
Black fishnet tights
Leopard print shoes (pointy toe and kitten heel)
I will also wear
black knotted beads
Long gold drop earrings
black ring
thin gold belt
I will prob wear my red wool coat and a smart bag.
I was gonna wear boots but I thought that made the outfit look quite plain and I wanna go a bit funky. Smart but funky.
What do you think?
Any comments welcome
