Primark Menswear?

NO.1. Ask :
Primark Menswear?
My boy is after some new clothes - wants a cardi and the like! - but doesn't want to spend much. I never venture into the menswear section in my local primark...but does anyone know how 'on trend' their stuff will be?
Or will it all be bad jeans and cheesy slogan tees?!
ta!
x
Answer:
They had a lovely stripey mens cardigan in the window of the B'ham store. I wanted Mr C to try it on but he wouldn't even step in there (He hates the place as it's so crowded and like a jumble sale half the time!).
Answer:
Man made fibres ahoy!
Ironic rawk tees
He'd be better off going to HM
Answer:
Sometimes they have good guy stuff, have even spotted a few of the t-shirts that are actually pretty good, and not too cheesy, but most of them are!
OH only really goes there for plain t-shirts and v-necks for wearing to work.
Answer:
thanks!
i think i may have to venture into menswear next time i go to primark - my OH refuses to go in there too for the exact same reason as Mr C! So maybe if I have a scout around and find some good stuff I can persuade him to come in?!
I'd forgotten about HM (how?!?) so I think a shopping trip needs to be planned...

  • What Is Darwin Leather?

    NO.2. ask :
    What Is Darwin Leather?
Silly question, but I don't know what it is!:o

Is it a type of particularly hardwearing leather, or from a certain place?

If anyone could enlighten me, I would be very grateful!:D

    Thanks xx
    Answer:
I thought Darwin leather was a thick, porous leather which is treated with vegetable dyes to produce shades like oak or chocolate. I may be wrong. Puddy is the resident Mulberry expert ;)
    Answer:
As Arish Mell says, I *think* it's down to the tanning process that Mulberry uses to produce the Darwin, as opposed to the Glove etc. The Darwin is often seen as the definitive "Mulberry leather", although people have individual preferences. On the whole, the consensus seems to be that it gets banged up more easily than some of the others (although it's not as soft as the nappa on the Araline), so it tends to assume a more lived-in look, and it darkens with use.
If you like your bags to stay as pristine as the day you bought them, it's probably not right for you; but most people agree that the leather ages beautifully. If Puddy doesn't come along soon, you could always post on TPF or email Mulberry customer services for a more authoritative answer.
    Answer:
Thanks for the answers, it's helped!:)

My Mulberry has quite wrinkled leather, and I was wondering if this was a characteristic of Darwin leather?

I've seen mulberry bags in the style that uses darwin leather looking v beaten up, or pristine so perhaps it depends on how well you look after the bag.

Mulberry recommend Collonil water protect spray, but i only have some waterproof leather spray stuff from Clarks:o would this be okay, or should i wait and get some collonil spray?
sorry for all the annoying questions, i'm a novice when it comes to bag care:o

    Laura xx
    Answer:
I have a Mulberry Elgin, which has olive darwin leather. The olive colour hides scratches, unlike the oak colour. I was advised to use Collonil Waterstop spray by the Mulberry SA. I buy mine from ebay and it costs about £8 I think. I was told to spray the bag monthly and it will build up a coating that protects the bag. I was also told not to take the bag out in heavy rain - even if it's been treated - as the darwin leather gets watermarked badly.

help please finding the right colour of bag to go with my new jacket
    1 Attachment(s) hi ladies
i got my mike and chris leather jacket but i have a problem, the bag i usually wear (stam a like) is almost the same colour as the jacket and looks a bit matchy so i am now looking for a new bag to go with it, i was thinking a pistachio kinda green might go nicely but i am open to suggestions
i quite fancy a roxanne - do you think the shape would go ok with the jacket?
i have attached a pic for the style of the jacket but i have the bone colour which you can't really see in the pic, basically the colour is like a really milky coffee if that helps
    thanks in advance
    xx
    Answer:
 sorry im a bit rubbish with colour coordinating....but had to post and say that i love, love, love the jacket - where did you get it from?
    Answer:
    thanks, i got it from
anyone got any ideas on the bag front?
    xx
    Answer:
    bump
    anyone got any ideas?
    xx
    Answer:
i'd go with something that isn't likely to transfer dye, you definitely don't want that
i'm not the world's biggest roxanne fan but a mulberry bag in oak would go nicely. or a balenciaga :heyhey: in sandstone/argyle or vert d'eau would work nicely too if you want a light colour.
