What to wear with these shoes
OK girls, having purchased these in a moment of randomness (they're very not-me, but I liked them so much I bought them), I am now having serious difficulty in deciding how to wear them.
Jeans will work, of course, as will my swirly black jersey skirt (suitably accessorised) and gauchos, but apart from that, I'm stumped because I don't often do quite such statement shoes!
They're more turquoisey IRL and have a slight platform sole.
Anyone have any bright ideas? Pretty please?
:thanks:

A yellow or a purple dress? :D
Brown cropped trousers?
Answer:
Ooh yes, liking those ideas!
I have a lovely yellow dress that should work rather well...

Answer:
I think a pale blue dress, anything chocolate brown, short shorts (with a voluminous blouse and a waist belt :throb: and mahoosive sunnies and bare legs)
Skinny jeans and longline silver/peach/purple/chocolate etc top...
Answer:
Didn't think of short shorts at all, but that could work too, yay!
And I love the idea of a peachy top with them - lovely.
Excellent, I think I may actually be able to wear them!

What do you think of this dress?

What do you think of this dress?
Sorry about the huge, not so good pic. If you have this month's In Style it's on page 11 of the Best Fashion Buys supplement!
Please let me know what you think - I'm considering it for my birthday (it's in July but I like to be prepared)! Thanks girls!http://www.tinypic.com/view/?pic=rs60xj
Answer:
I really like it but the pattern makes me think it might be frumpy IRL. Think you would have to go and try it on to see but otherwise yes.
Answer:
It's gorgeous. Very nice. Where's it from?
Answer:
thanks for replying fudgewarpaint and curls! I've tried it on and it's very fitted and a plunging wrap neckline so I hope it didn't look frumpy. I thought it looked a bit like the Toast watercolour dress from last season but the shape is much better for me.
curls it's from Laura Ashley, so I panicked a bit when fudge said it could be frumpy!
Answer:
I think it's really pretty and if you've got the curves for it should look wonderful. Very 1950s, which I think is sexy.
'Surf fit' t-shirts?
NO.3. ask :
'Surf fit' t-shirts?
Hi everyone
I'm a guy and I'm searching for a new t-shirt to buy on the net. I like t-shirts by Animal, Quiksilver, Rip Curl etc - all the surf type brands. I've been searching their products and have seen a few t-shirts that say SURF FIT. Can anyone tell me what this means? (others say REGULAR FIT or SLIM FIT but I know what they are) Are surf fit t-shirts slightly baggy or something? I dont want that!
Thanks for any help
Answer:
I've never heard of it before, but I found the O'neill website here and they describe a few of their T-shirts as "Surf fit - relaxed fit logo graphic t-shirt".
So to me, 'relaxed fit' sounds like it might be slightly baggy! I might be totally wrong though :)
Answer:
It does mean slightly baggy but you should be able get some of the surf brands in a standard/regular fit.

Red or Dead shoes...
My quest to find the 'Dirty Girl' platforms by Red or Dead (wish I'd got them sooner!) is getting me no where!
I have tried Schuh, Viva La Diva, eBay, Google! Cannot find them :(
Does anyone know where else stocks Red or Dead shoes preferably online pleeeeaaase? :)

www.shoe-shop.com ? :)
Answer:
www.shoe-shop.com ? :)
Was just about to post that but I don't think they're on there either
Answer:
They arent on www.vivaladiva.com either, so I'm guessing they're probably from last year - I remember seeing them quite a while ago. I'd say checking Ebay every week will probably be your best bet now Ileana!
Have you tried phoning Schuh's head office or whatever hun? I know they were sold in there at one time, so maybe they'd know if theres anywhere else you can get them! ETA - schuhstore@schuh.co.uk
Answer:
Thanks for all your replies :D might try giving Schuh's head office a ring, cheers GJ.
Will definitely keep checking eBay, however I've just won a pair of the gold slingback platforms from Barratts so might have to chill out for a while! (I've got a bit crazy this weekend!!)
Wish me luck fashion baggers and I have a question too!
NO.5. ask :
Wish me luck fashion baggers and I have a question too!
Well in the last few years I have put a bit of weight on and really neeeeeed to lose some weight.
So...................
I have bought quite a few clothes for the summer but in a smaller size! I tried stuff on and when I found a size that was comfortable I went down a size. So in other words I can get all buttons etc done but it ain't a nice sight!
So far I have bought:
2 pairs of jeans
2 dresses (that navy and cream dp dress and a shirt dress in cream with gold stripes in from Bay)
Quite a few tops
I do lose weight easily once I stick to a diet so it should be okay!
I didn't want to not get the clothes as if I left them I wouldn't find them again - which always happens - I always try to buy now think later!! I also think that if I got them to fit me now it wouldn't give me an incentive to lose weight - so fingers crossed! :fingers: :yescales:
Now my question is this:
I have quite a few lovely trousers and jackets that I have paid quite a lot for and really need to know if anyone thinks it is worth getting these taken in once I lose the weight? (I am soooo optimistic! ) I can manage to do skirts myself but will need to find somewhere that does alterations for anything else.
Does anyone have any idea at how much I am looking at say per pair of trousers and per jacket?
Thanks peeps!
Answer:
Yeah, me too, I have so many pairs of nice trousers that are too baggy since I lost 2 stone- I went from a size 16 trouser to a size 12. All that money wasted!
BTW- If I can do it so can you Narcissa. Good luck!
Answer:
I can't help with the taking-in question, but just wanted to say good luck! You sound very determined so I'm sure you'll do it :) And new clothes are a very good incentive!
You could always try selling the too-big stuff on Ebay if you can't get it taken in, at least you might make some money back, which you can then go shopping with!
Answer:
Thanks girls! :yay:
Good idea about Ebay! :great:
Answer:
It depends on the clothes, to be honest - if they're good quality, you like them and they're well-made, then I'd be inclined to get them altered.
As for getting alterations done, you'd need to shop around a bit. Places like Johnstones will do some alterations (my local branch did a good job on some trousers that I needed taking in) but I don't know if they'll stretch to jackets and what the quality of their work is like in general. I think it cost about 5-10 pounds to get my trousers done, but it was a while ago and I don't remember exactly.
A dressmaker or tailor would probably be a better bet, especially for altering jackets - no idea on cost though, sorry.
Good luck with the diet!
