Primark - "least ethical"

NO.1. Ask :
Primark - "least ethical"
http://news.independent.co.uk/uk/thi...icle331801.ece
Answer:
"Oppressive regimes" is purely a matter of opinion, especially when it comes to Marks and Spencer. Yes, you can say that certain clothes are made in sweatshops, however doing business with certain specific countries is only unethical if you read left wing publications and you're obsessed with the "fact" that your views on Middle Eastern politics are right and everyone else is wrong.
Answer:
Oh well that does it, they're definately off my shopping list.
Answer:
I heard this. Apparently Primark are saying it isn't a true test as they use the same manufacturers as.........(I've forgotten the name of the shop!! - but it was a shop higher up in the list)
To be honest though, surely no one shopping at Primark thought this wasn't the case - how else do you buy a top for £3?? (and yes I shop in Primark)
Answer:
I've never 'shopped' in Primark - I've browsed a couple of times and on examination of the labels on the things I've liked, put them straight back.
I just don't see how you can make stuff that cheap without compromising somewhere.
  • Help needed! First date in a year! What shall I wear?! :(:(; Do you think its still ok to wear black opaques?; Are you superstitious?; Very quick help needed; what is this here's brand?
  • Inspire me with pretty dresses!!

    NO.2. ask :
    Inspire me with pretty dresses!!
I'm going to be bridesmaid for one of my best friends in December, her mum is making the dresses, there are five bridesmaids and we all have to say what kind of style we want. They're going to be chocolate brown but other than that it's kind of up to us. Just had a quick look on nap and found a few styles I like but it's really hard to narrow them down!
Love the idea of something like this but might be a bit 'fashiony' for a wedding:
or this but a shorter version:
Like the v neck/ back on this one:
    and this:
    Just love this:
Like the idea of something like this with a sash belt:
but maybe with this kind of neckline:
Any opinions on these or more suggestions welcome!!
    Ta x x
    Answer:
Ooh how exciting! I really like the shape of the brown one (3rd one you posed) - it looks like that purple Matthew Williamson one that Keira Knightley wore, lovely!
I like the shape of the turqouise one too, but would it be a bit short for a wedding? (it's hard to tell how long it is from the pic) - although obviously if her mum's making it up, then she could make it longer.
I wish I had the talent to make dresses!
    Answer:
I wish I could make dresses too! Excited about having one made for me though, these are just for inspiration really, what I end up with probably won't be a copy of any of them as such.
    Answer:
    I like them all!!!so I 'm no help am I ?I LOVE the green one-who's it by?
I suppose the style depends on the type of fabric,or doesnt it matter as long as its brown?
    Answer:
 The green one is Temperley lomie. I think the fabric is going to be a heavyish silk but not really a shiny kind of silk, think most of these styles could be adapted for the type of fabric...
