How to clean trainers?

NO.1. Ask :
How to clean trainers?
Hey, dont know if this is the right place to post this but thought it would be ok.
Does anyone know if its ok to wash trainers in the washing machine?
Ive got converse canvas trainers and they are covered in mud and ive got a pair of canvas slip on shoe things. I dont want them to shrink or anything or for the colours to go weired.
Has anyone done this or is there any other way to clean them?
Dont want to do it incase i ruin them as there my fave trainers, hence the dirtyness of them. Plus could you dry them in the tumble dryer? coz i wear them all the time and would need them dry asap.
Thanks. :)
Answer:
I've put canvas ballet pumps with rubber soles in the washing machine before and they were fine, so I'd imagine canvas trainers would be too!
Best check with other people first though, I don't want to be responsible for ruining your converses! :)
Answer:
I've got a pair of canvas mules and I washed (30 degrees) then tumbled them in the summer and they came out fine. My b.f washes his dunlop green flash, after 3 washes the rubber's coming away from the canvas a bit though
Answer:
Oh well sounds good, ill go give it a go see what happens!!
Ill be gutted if my newish pink converses come out all weird!
Thanks for the help. :)
Answer:
Wash then in the machine on a 30 degree cycle but don't tumble them, that will do for the glue. Non-bio powder is better for colours.

Where can I buy summer dresses?!?
I am looking for a turquoise dress, about mid calf/knee length for my hols. Preferably not halterneck style. I want to wear it when I go on a night out on holiday in Tenerife. Not too "tarty" or short as I'll be with my b/f but something that is flattering.
Has anyone any ideas where sells lovely dresses? I dont mind buying online.
    Thanks!

    polka dot shirt dress-Bay Trading?
Went for a rummage in Peacocks yesterday and couldn't resist going in Bay Trading and I saw a really sweet black polka dot shirt dress.....do I get it? I think it could look nice over black or indigo skinnies and gold ballet flats or with wedges or flats in the summer.
    What do you think?
P.S Got some indigo skinnies from Primark (the ones with the polka dot scarf attached- how lovely are they? :yay:
    Answer:
Get it and then post a pic! It sounds lovely :)
And agree about the Primark skinnies, they are fab! Really nice fit, good quality, I love the scarf and they were a total bargain. My best buy this year, I think!
    Answer:
Thanks for the reply, someone said they'd seen one in Primark but the cut was too long!! This one looks quite short, I'm hoping it's made of cotton and not synthetic, I didn't look yesterday.

Definately Primark skinnies the best buy of the season. I also found that the cut of them means I don't necessarily have to wear a long line top as they are so flattering. Unlike my black Baxters which looks terrible with a "normal top".
how do you wear the scarf?
    Answer:
Theres some pics in my style diary of how I wear the scarf -
here and here. I love it - I think the scarf itself would have been about £12 in Topshop, never mind getting jeans too :) We got a good bargain, girl!
Are you definitely buying the dress then? I really want to see pics!
    Answer:
    hey you
I was just looking at your style diary, you look great- we have the same gold peacocks pumps too :yay:
I've picked up some tips on how to wear the long tops and waist belts. thanks, I also saw how you wore the polka dot scarf, I had a play about with it like that too. and you're right it would have cost as much as the jeans if not more in another store. You've given me confidence to try something new.
I'll have a think about that dress and I'll get my dad to show me how to post a piccie if I do. (back living at home - ha ha and a complete techno-fool, do most of my bagging in work- naughty naughty).

Now, the question is... has anyone seen this dress and what shoes do you recommend would go okay with it? I am stuck!!! Any ideas??
    Answer:
Are ou going somewhere hot? If so, then flip-flops! I haven't seen the dress, but flip-flops go with everything :) Or some pretty ballet pumps?
    Answer:
going to Egypt. mind you, i have only had the dress 4 days and have already worn it twice so the chance are it wont make it on hol cos i will be sick of the sight of it!
