What do you think? (Platform lovers only)!
Ok what do you think of either of these shoes? Hideous or funky? Are they just way over the top and im having a mad moment, OR are they actually quite cool? :o :meh:
I know there will be lots of you who will  at first sight im sure, but bearing in mind I love platforms and havent got a problem with heels!
Ok girls go for it!

Answer:
 bit goth for me. I :throb: platforms and my Westwood ones are HUGE, but they don't float my boat I'm afraid.

Answer:
First ones look like stripper/fetish shoes and the second ones are just horrible.
Sorry hun!
Answer:
First ones 'might' pass for eccentric goth/madame with masochistic tendencies and whip to match, but the second ones look like health service shoes for people who've had polio or a short leg   They're seriously ugly chunks of black stuff really
Answer:
I'm not keen on either I'm afraid :( The first ones are the better of the two but second?!?!?!?! :cmeek: :faint: - no no NO!
Sorry DA, no offence!
Can I wear shorts with boots?
NO.2. ask :
Can I wear shorts with boots?
Hello!
I just received my gorgeous new Dune boots (round-ish toe, kitten heel knee-high soooo soft black leather), and have bought a pair of short smart shorts which are so cute (smart cut, turn-ups and a matching cloth tie belt) (from Tesco! for £12!). :yay:
The question is; can I wear the two together. I have a slightly longer pair of city shorts which are just above the knee, and with long boots you get a slice of knee showing which isn't attractive. Since these other shorts are shorter there isn't a slice, but still...
What do you think?
What do you wear with "city shorts"? I am thinking opaque tights and bronze cut out shoes... flat pumps... But since it is so damn cold still, can I wear them with boots?!
Answer:
this is quite a tough one i think?!
how short are your shorter shorts?? its hard to imagine what both would look like. Its difficult to get things the right length for wearing with boots, sometimes things can look like they are slightly too short (or long for you) and might not look quite "right".
some people dont like boots with short shorts... personally I do, but i couldnt do it cos my legs are too fat!
I think what i am trying to say is I prefer to see either the short shorts - or ones that are long enough to meet the boot. Does that make sense?
Post a pic of them if you can.
Answer:
The short ones are mid-thigh. I'm not thin - the shorts are a 10 but I think Tesco's sizes are quite big.
Can't post a pic 'til Monday, and can't find the shorts online...
I know the slightly longer ones look totally wrong...
Answer:
In general, I'd say yes, you can wear long boots with short shorts. But I think this works better with casual boots, and the Dune ones are very slick and elegant. I tend to wear slouchy ankle boots with my short shorts, but I've also worn my buckled pirate boots with them as well.
However, smart tailored city shorts do work, IMHO, with knee high boots. I do know what you mean about the gap, but I think if the shorts are actually shorts (i.e. land just above your knee) not just short cropped trousers ;) then it works. Small Girl has some pics on her Stylediary, I think, and I'm sure other baggers wear them like this (Toosh, perhaps?).
Very glad to hear that the Dune boots are good - I'm hoping to get some myself this weekend! :fingers:
g_k
Answer:
I wear my shorts with knee highs, I cant get shoes for my size 2 feet so I have no choice, in general (obviously it depends on the boots and the shorts) it looks good. I tend to wear criss-cross or fish net tights to get rid of that flash of knee coz that looks a bit werid!!!
Try it on and if you are comfortable with it then go with it!!!

Let's sing the praises of......
The Strappy Top!
I'Ve only discovered the wonder of these things in the last couple of years. Most of my tops are rather low cut, due to my ample bosom being the only bit of me i've ever liked! Now, I can wear nice tops in the daytime too, with strappies underneath, and enjoy getting my cleavage out in the evenings, and less formal occasions. So come on, sing the praises people!
Answer:
Oh strappy tops ....
thank you for letting me wear wrap dresses that would otherwise either look dull or gape horribly ...
thank you for fitting under low cut tops to cover up that huge red spot I got on my chest from eating an entire box of 24 Cadbury's Creme Eggs last week, so people don't think I have 3 nipples ...
*eta* god, I'm got onto nipples again :p
Answer:
i'm afraid i won't be doing any singing today... after wearing camisoles and strappy tops all through 2005 i can't stand the sight of them anymore. bring on the loose, flowing silhouette :)
Dorothy Perkins' 'Limited Collection'
NO.4. ask :
Dorothy Perkins' 'Limited Collection'
Does anybody else think this is just pointless?
http://www.dorothyperkins.co.uk/prom.../?prodid=DEJ47
Every high street store seems to be bestowing us with the honour of their limited collections lately. I dont see why, when they design something with maybe an inch of extra lace, bigger buttons or say, a pocket on the front, they cant just add it to their regular collection. It makes me feel like they cant be arsed to actually give us the 'nice' stuff at competitive prices. I mean, £40 for a little blouse or a skirt? Thats not Dorothy Perkins prices, and if I wanted to spend £60 on a dress I'd go elsewhere...
Well I ended up rambling, just felt like venting about why they had to call it a limited collection at all! I dont see whats so special!
Answer:
I think high street shops are feeling the pressure to have a 'bridge' line :(
Answer:
:throb: that dress. It would be perfect for the wedding I *might* (exam exemptions pending) be going to in June.
I agree though - the limited collection lark does give them free reign to lash on a few quid but at least there aren't rails and rails of the same gear in every store.
Answer:
They had a limited collection a few years ago which had fab taylored pieces, I got a beautifully cut pair of trousers which I still wear for special ocasions.
I think if the fabric cut is better than usual it would be worth the extra money as some of the pricer stores normal collections are not that great anyway.
Is it the Chocolate square neck dress you like? I quite like the puffball mac too.
Answer:
Ahhh I hate limited editions! It puts you under pressure to buy something there and then because you know they won't be getting any more in  And then when it sells out (loke a gorgeous grey dress on Miss Selfridge) you know you can't get it again :(
Long gold necklaces?
NO.5. ask :
Long gold necklaces?
I've seen loads of talk of long, very fine gold necklaces, but I haven't seen any in the shops. I do like the sound of them but would be worried they look a bit chav :o
Anyone have any pics, or point me to any online so I can make my mind up on them?
thanks ;)
