What do we think of these shoes?
I saw them today and Mr Fudge almost bought them for my birthday but they didn't go with my outfit at all so I wasn't sure but now I'm having second thoughts.
What do you all think?
Answer:
I really like the shoe, but the ruffly thing is a little bit big for my liking :(
There are lots of gorgeous almond toe, black courts about, have you thought about just getting a plain pair? You could always make/buy a similar rosette and clip it to the front of the shoe as and when, that would be more versatile.
Answer:
The shoe bit is okay (but very basic).
However, I agree with Casablancas and I'm not sure about the decoration - it does look slightly too big for the shoe. It also looks a bit like an 'after thought' and doesn't quite 'go' IYSWIM - sorry!
:)
Answer:
To be butally honest, I don't like them, sorry. The thing on the toes is just too big and OTT for my taste and just looks wrong to me. Might be different IRL, though.
But then I really dislike anything too big or elaborate on the toes of my shoes; I can just about cope with fairly discreet bows.

Help Me Buy a New Wardrobe!!
NO.4. ask :
Help Me Buy a New Wardrobe!!
Ok I am serious - I need an entire new wardrobe! I am starting a new job in May :yay: and have had a good clear out of my wardrobes this weekend. I need a new work clothes and generally new stuff full stop. I haven't bought new clothes in absolutely ages - I have really worn all my clothes to death and really in need of new stuff. I am getting a fab pay rise with my new job so I have some cash to spend.
So here's what I need
* work clothes - smart suits and formal office wear - I like feminie stuff though. I want a great bag too. Really fancy a big red leather one actually!
* evening wear - just for going out to dinner/drinks etc
*Casual stuff - jeans and jumpers type clothes and I guess summer equivalents!
Where do I start? I have never been a good shopper and lose patience very quickly. I am also very petitie - size 6-8 and only 5 2" so find it hard to find the right clothes and give up very easily.
Would really appreciate some tips and guidance from you fashion experts in here!. I will be having a couple of weeks off before my new job and plan to spend a few days shopping. Also have today off work so can head out today too.
:yay:
Answer:
You actually are living out my fantasy, two weeks off work, with money to spend on clothes even better: a NEED 2 buy clothes, and when u do go back u got a fab job!! LUCKY YOU!!!!:)
whats your budget chick?
Cas.x
Answer:
Not sure on my budget. Have about a grand to spend or so I think.
I know I am lucky. I am very thankful to be in this postition. I have been working towards it for ages now. Paid off all my debts too so I am gonna treat myself. Have to admit to not actually liking shopping! but I do actually NEED new clothes. I adore clothes and shoes but just have very little patience for shops and shopping! But if I am goona go all out now is the time to do it!
Answer:
Lucky you!
There's quite a good guide in this month's Glamour, even a check-list of what a well-rounded wardrobe should contain! I don't have my copy on me but could post it later, unless some other kind bagger can...
I think you should invest in some classic cuts and styles and just update them with cheaper bits like jewellery, scarves, bags etc. Make sure you try loads on before you buy, as certain shapes will suit you better than others.
Answer:
Lucky you!!!Why dont you get a personal shopper?Selfridges springs to mind, and they sell clothes in all sorts of price ranges so you wouldnt just be stuck with expensive choices.
Help! Sunburn!
NO.5. ask :
Help! Sunburn!
I was up in the Alps this weekend and yesterday went for a long walk in the snow. Having packed multui layers, scarf, hat, gloves, padded trousers... it was really hot and I was in a T-shirt the whole time.
I put on a small amount of sunscreen but nowhere near enough and now have a really red face throat and forearms.
I have been slathering on moisturiser but it is still quite red.
What colour should I wear to minimise the effect of my red throat (I can cover the rest with makeup a bit, and wear long sleeves).
I really never thought it could be so hot in the snow!!
Answer:
Get some aloe vera gel on you quick smart. Maybe some of that green colour corrector for redness of the skin might tone it down a bit? I hope it doesn't irritate it though?? Make sure you don't use ANY alcohol based products on your skin.
Answer:
A bit of bronzer might tone it down too.
Answer:
Green's a good colour to wear if you're sunburnt. It'll make you look less red.
Answer:
Thanks ladies. I don't have much green in my wardrobe, but did wonder if that might be the answer since that's what's used in cosmetics.
Feel so silly as in the summer sun I am soo careful and usually use F30!!
