hot pants or mini skirt?
ok so I'm going on holiday :beach: and I'm wondering what to wear on the beach I've never worn hot pants but my boyfriend is encouraging me to.
so what do you reckon?
do you prefer skirts of shorts? I don;t actually own any shorts but could be persuaded.
pics are good :D (i.e ones you like)
cheers
I can't wait till I have the money to buy them (end of April)
Answer:
Urrh I wear either - or little dresses. To be honest I like anything short so I'm not the best person to consult on matters of taste!
xx
Answer:
:p fair enough, I just am under the illusion that skirts make my thight look smaller?? hmmmm
I guess I'll have to try some short shorts on, my boyf said he'd come with but then he wants to see them on which means I have to come out of the changing room! :o :o
Answer:
I've always found short skirts dresses easier to wear as hot pants draw tend to be more fitted to the thigh which makes me more conscious of them. There has only been about a month in my life when I've been both thin and happy enough to wear hot pants and that time is long passed.
However, on the right person, I prefer hot pants to short skirts and there are plenty of nice ones in the shops now.
Answer:
Presumably you mean to wear over your bikini? On the beach, I prefer skirts because they generally keep you cooler than shorts I think.. more light and floaty.
How many of you 'do' this look?

It is something that I actually really like the look of, the black fitted leather jacket, nice jeans and matching boots? I have also seen it done with brown.
Ps - why do hangovers hurt???????? lol
Answer:
Don't like the boots, hate Amanda Holden and I think the look is a bit ubiquitous. I'd rather not look like everyone else, particularly not like Amanda Holden :D
Answer:
TBH, I find it pretty bland..
Answer:
Too much matching leather for me i'm afraid...it's too samey
Answer:
Looks a bit contrived, if you know what I mean.
A bit too carefully put together. I prefer a bit more of a thrown together look myself. Although not bag lady thrown together, somewhere in between.

Bought a black patent waist belt this week, which I love :throb: but whatever top I try and pair it with, it just seems to bunch up all the fabric, even though I'm not doing the belt up tight or anything.
Does everyone have this problem and I'm being pinickity, or is it just me?!

Answer:
What sort of fabric tops are you trying, and are they loose fitting. I think something close fitting and jersey material would be good and shouldn't do this.:nurse:
Answer:
hmm, none of them have been especially baggy  and have tried a range of tops now and fabrics... not sure if I'm just being fussy or not :o

Ooo very strange. Does it make the top look bulky or mishapen at all?
Answer:
I find this too on slightly loose tops. When i wore my loose bandeau i put the couple of gathers at the back:o
Close fitting tops seem to be ok though :)
The only other thing is if you are over tightening it but you have to have it pretty tight to stay up:rolleyes:
How much???!!!

How much???!!!
Just a rant...i know some of us have had this discussion before.
Jumper arrived yesterday....walk past my mum's room who asks if it's new. Tell her it's just come and i'm trying it on, she asks what price and then comes out with
"HOW MUCH??"
(This was a £28 pound jumper, not cheap but not mega expensive)
Looking at a jewellery website today saying how nice the stuff is and i might ask for something for my birthday....again price is asked and another
"HOW MUCH??"
Grrrrr:mad:
The my friend a few weeks back. Show her a dress i had bought...she asks how much and comes out with
"I couldn't afford to spend £45 on a dress"
And there's me thinking....but i don't smoke like a trooper and drink like you:rolleyes:
This is the same woman that doesn't realise that, Yes i order lots of stuff but i don't keep 80% of it! I'm sure she thinks i keep it all and have had to purchase a small country to keep it all in
So a big GRRRRRRRR from me to vent my frustration:mad:
What ever happened to "That looks nice on you" End of.
*Feels better*
Answer:
grrr I know what you mean - BF thinks I'm loaded cos I can buy new stuff regularly - but he doesnt seem to comprehend that it's mainly from primark of some other cheapy shop, and I dont drink, smoke, do drugs or waste my money in any other silly ways - surely I am allowed to shop FFS:mad:
Answer:
yup, I know this feeling
luckily my mum is fine when I buy more expensive items, as she thinks you get what you pay for, but my friends often seem amazed at the amount of money I spend on clothes sometimes - I don't even buy that much!!
Answer:
Aw, Cat, I can't really sympathise with you though because my mum is a far worse shopper than me! She's just bought two new jackets this week, bother over £100! She's always delighted to hear of my new purchases.
However, I do have a friend who always asks 'how much'. About everything, whether it's a new hair cut or a new pair of shoes. I don't know if it's to make me feel bad, but I've just started being a bit vague about it now!
Answer:
I find the 'slash the price in half and then tell' method works:lol:
I think my friend has got too used to the shop discounts her and her mates can get her. You have to remind her that us non shop folk don't get 50% discount at New Look etc

Answer:
erm, it depends when it is really! If its a date I can do, I will definitly be there.. I spend enough time posting to you lot, may as well meet you ;)
Answer:
i'd like to go too (although i'd obviously spend weeks planning my outfit so as not to be outdone!) but depends when it is...
Answer:
I'm definitely still up for it, but nobody seemed to agree on a date.
April, May and June were all mentioned I think  :)
Answer:
Maybe we should set up another poll. I'd offer to organize it but i can't be 100% sure i'd be there:(
