Bored....

NO.1. Ask :
Bored....
I have been so bored and BLAH lately. I'm bored with my hair and my makeup. I'm bored with the stuff in the shops. I haven't bought anything in aaaaaaages (which is very unlike me) and even when offered things on sale/special offer that I definitely would have snapped up months ago i.e. a discount offered to me by Lush, someone going to the Mulberry discount store, special shopping event nights with discounts / freebies. I can't even get excited about suggesting xmas presents for myself - I just think 'I don't need/want any more heres / shoes / jewellery'  . I haven't even been here all that much because of the way I've been feeling - I think I've been fashion-depressed.
I think its partly the time of year, partly that I am now winter-pale, partly that I am growing my fringe out and its at that awful 'nothingy' stage and partly that there is no new-season stuff in the shops.
Sooooooo, I dashed to Selfridges at lunchtime today and bought myself a red wig (I'm normally a light honey blonde) and had my makeup touched up at MAC to suit the darker hair colour. And I'm feeling all motivated again and am thinking about outfits to wear with my new hair !!
Answer:
me too!
i posted a similar thread about losing my 'mojo' 2 weeks or so back. im gonna wait for new year, get some inspiration in the sales, and of course see what santa brings me at christmas ;)
im considering dying my hair brown too (ive had blonde since i was 17) and of course, going on the new year diet i plan every year will help regain my mojo! :p
Answer:
Aww I'm sure loads can relate to you - I've gone off certain shops lately, like DP's and Accessorize and other high street shops. Buying for the sake of buying is never good, especially if nothing there takes your fancy.
I've been shopping loads more on ebay and charity shops because it makes me feel good knowing I've got a bargain and that the money has gone to good place. Also love routing for stuff!
The wig idea has come into my head a few times before actually - when I went to Amsterdam this summer, we went into this great wig shop and they had LOADS, wish I'd bought one now! A make-over always makes you feel better :)
At least you can save your money for the new season of heres/shoes/jewellery :D
Answer:
Do you remember the wig I bought at Vitality show. I'm yet to wear it :o
Answer:
I've got a wig too but i always feel like people will look at me in ti and go "She's wearing a wig" :o
Another one bored here too....i hate spring fashion but i'm looking forward to it now just for a change.

    Ballet pumps
Just a quick one- I want some nice ballet pumps to wear on Christmas day, but don't know where to look for the best ones. The faith website seems to have the same stuff week in week out, for flatties at least. Any ideas?!
    Answer:
I absolutely love bertie ballet pumps, they have got them in a few colours too: black / pale pink / silver / gold and I've had mine for ages and they still look really new!
They were £50 which seems a lot but they have lasted ages and I'm always wearing them! Always get compliments on them too!
    Answer:
New Look have some nice ones - I got a silver pair which I love.
    Answer:
Topshop, i had a fab pair from there! :)
    Answer:
What's your budget? They have ballet pumps just about everywhere these days from Primark and Top Shop to www.prettyballerinas.com and www.frenchsole.com

O/T Help from London baggers pleeeeeeease?!
    Calling London baggers
On the back of the super successful advice I got from the Dublin baggers, I was hoping that the lovely London baggers would also assist in my hour of need!!
Myself, Mr Toosh and our best friends (a couple) are going to London this weekend for a night out. We're planning on having dinner early-ish and then going on to a few bars and then a club. As I haven't been out in London for an embarrassingly long time (showing my age) please please please can I have some recs for cool places to go? We're going to Hush just behind Bond Street for some afternoon drinkies (have no idea if this is "cool" or not but we've been before and like it) - we're stumped for evening establishments though. Music wize, we're big fans of Hed Kandi so anything like that would be fab!
Thank you so so so much! :D :flower:
    Answer:
I LURVE Hush, altho it's getting a little tired nowadays.
Nearby, there's 43 at 43 South Moulton Street. Also Firevault (basement bar in a fireplace shop, it is tres modern, warm and bespoke cocktails) on Great Tichfield Street. And the very new, very cool Annexe 3 (pronounced "trois") on Little Portland Street.
For dancing, I think Kabaret's Prophecy is fabaroony
    Answer:
Hi Toosh, I don't go out as much as what I used to :wasfield: but I still know the odd place!
There are loads of cool bars in Shoreditch if you fancy venturing a little East. There's Elbow Rooms, Pool Bar, Cantaloupe etc etc. Over in the West End Match bar is really nice and great cocktails. Whether it's the latest place to go I have no idea but I'm not really into the IT places, if I like them I go to them!
Alot of the clubs in town now play too much RnB for my liking. I am a big Hed Kandi fan too (stayed in the Hed Kandi hotel in Ibiza this year actually! :music: ). I would recommend Pacha, Pangea, Ministry, Turnmills (depending on what night you go though, Friday's are fantastic).
Let me know if you want any info!
The bars at the trendy hotels are all good really, bit pretentious but hey it's London. Try Light Bar in St. Martins Lane, The Long Bar in the Sanderson, Number 1 at Aldwych. GE Members Bar in the Great Eastern Hotel is a personal fave.
There's so many places to go it's sometimes hard to think of the best ones!
    Answer:
And the very new, very cool Annexe 3 (pronounced "trois") on Little Portland Street.

Is that the one right next door to the social? If so, it did look good.
    Answer:
No, Hush is lovely for afternoon drinks. Mimi and I went there a while back for champagne after we'd been shopping. Rocket a little futher down lancashire court is also nice.
I'm more into RnB and hiphop so couldn't really suggest a club you'd like I'm afraid, although The Blue bar at The Berkeley Hotel is nice for cocktails.

    NO.5. ask :
Right, how do you say Primark?
Is it Primark as in the "pri" from Prime, or is it Primark as in Preemark?
Damnit, I can't even vote on my own pole because I've spent too long thinking about it and can't remember which I say!
    Answer:
pri-mark, tis how it looks! saying it any other way just complicates things overmuch.
    Answer:
I say pri-mark but I have heard a lot of people say preemark and it bugs me! ;)
    Answer:
It's Pri as in Dye according to how it was being pronounced on the money program documentary last week.
Although in Ireland we call it penneys :-)
    Answer:
I think we had a debate about this in Fashion a few months ago and did someone ring Head Office to ask or something?! I can't remember now!
I think it was Pr-eye-mark anyway.
    I think....
