Flesh-coloured tights!
I am putting together my outfit for my work party next week. I would like to wear flesh coloured tights. I have pale skin with some slightly bluish veins on one of my legs, so normally wear the palest shade of 15D tights if I wear flesh coloured tights in daytime.
It is an evening party and I am wearing a black dress. Black tights don't look right somehow as my arms are quite pale, so I think that flesh is the way to go.
Do you think I should go for a slightly darker shade than usual but in 10D or 7D? Will that look more natural?
Any opinions on shiny/glossy finishes? Do they make your legs look larger?
Thanks
Answer:
i find glossy tights often look a bit odd, and as you say they can make legs slightly larger.
for a funky look, a toned down pair of fishnets can look funky, as long as your dress is on the classy side ;)
for me skin colour tights always look better if they are slighty tanned in colour, i wouldn't worry too much about your arms looking pale, perhaps you could wear some fake tan to even it out?
Answer:
Thanks.
Yeah, I think I'll avoid the gloss but go for a shade darker flesh than usual.
I have some nude fishnets but my legs look a bit too bumpy in them - they are fine in black, funnily enough!
Answer:
i once bought a pair of nude tights from asda with the fishnet woven into them - not nude fishnets but just the pattern on top and they were fab for looking glam or casual. not too matte or glossy....shame i havent been able to find any since
Answer:
I love Tesco's vintage tights, or if you don't want a faint seam up the back, go for their support tights with the belly control, not because of the belly control, but because they're thick-ish without looking it, and they make your legs look nicely tanned and really clear (vein-wise - being so pale, you can see pretty much all of mine if I go without tights). They're not matt but they're not gloss either, they've just got a tiny amount of 'sheen' to them in certain lights. They don't have that 'cakey foundation' look other thick tights have, if you know what I mean, and if you carry weight round the thigh/bum area like I do, it stops them wobbling as much when you walk !
is this nice for mother in law?

hellooo
i am thinking about this for mr.bug's mum's xmas prezzie :D
what i want to know is-do you think its too old fashioned i.e biddyfied? she's not old , only 60, but isnt very young in her dress sense, shes not a biddy either  i want to get her something classy, but that she can keep for 'best'.
here
Answer:
you are either going to love the buttons or hate them, i would choose a similar top or cardi, but perhaps with plainer buttons. she can always dress it up if she finds it too plain

Answer:
sorry but I think it's the high round neck - but it looks a bit grannyish to me:(
Answer:
Does she wear quite classic styles? If so, I'd say it was perfect. But if she's a bit funkier or trendier, I'd stay away and try and find something else. It is a little bit biddyish, but I think that's partly the range of colours. Are they colours she wears?
If she really hates it though, at least it's from MS so she can take it back easily!
I'd be tempted to get her a silk scarf. I'll see if I can find the kind of thing I mean.

actually the scarf sounds like a good idea - what about a classic cashmere pashmina - they go with practically everything.
Outfit suggestions for my new shoes!

Outfit suggestions for my new shoes!
Once again starting with the shoes and basing outfits around them! Won these TS heels on ebay last week and really pleased with them but need some inspiration on what to wear them with, have quite a lot of black and grey in my wardrobe, was also thinking about wearing tights with them or would that look ridiculous? Any advice very welcome! Ta x
Answer:
I've got a similar problem, I've got ones with the same shape as those in orange:
and just can't match them with anything. They're not really a platform like they were described as either (I think I remember those being called platform shoes too) so the heel is ridiculously high.
I think colourwise you're quite safe, they're fairly neutral so wear them with black and grey like you said, and maybe some pinks would look good against them too. I personally, would wear tights with them, but I know a lot of other baggers think it a huge sin since they're peeptoes!

Answer:
I still regret not buying those shoes SG! I now have a dress they would be perfect with, damn!
Answer:
Well if you're a size 3 you can have mine :D
Answer:

I'm off to my new bfs birthday dinner with his friends their partners and have no idea what to wear. It's not a party dress occasion and nor is it jeans. Any ideas girls? I'm 5'8'' and a size 14 so any suggestions would be great - just not the TS Galaxy pls - I'm too fat for that!
PS - budget is about £150ish for the whole outfit incl shoes if I need to get them.
Answer:
How about a pair of fitted trousers, with a wrap dress over the top?
Or trousers and a pretty camisole?
Skirt and smart top?

Answer:
Denim birds do fabby ones that are pure inky black.
Answer:
You could always dye them if they're not dark enough.
(This does NOT work with blue jeans!)
