Need some shoes help!

NO.1. Ask :
Need some shoes help!
Hey,
I need some shoes to wear with shorts - cut just above the knee, and opaques. I've so far been wearing them with boots, but want some shoes to make it less of a 'clumpy' look, but, tbh, I don't have a clue what sort of styles would look ok with them
what would you recommend?
x ohara
Answer:
I have these:

which I wear with my black knee length shorts and these:

which I wear with my brown tweed knee length shorts.
If that's any help?! :) x
Answer:
oh, those first ones are gorgeous!! I need something a little more casual than those ones though :( as its more for early evening/out for a drink outfits that I need them for, rather than nights out.
The brown pair are pretty funky too though! I think it is mainly my tweed shorts that I need them to go with. Where abouts are they from?
x ohara
Answer:
The brown are from Nine West, courtesy of Ebay :)
I think a nice round toe possibly with a stiletto heel would probs best suit what you're looking for. Tesco had some nice brown suede ones with a little tweed flower on, and a kitten heel, quite cute x
Answer:
oo, they sound perfect! will check out tescos this week.
Thanks Illeana!

  • How tall is too tall?

    NO.2. ask :
    How tall is too tall?
I'm a bit worried about my outfit for tomorrow. I'm 5'7.5 (that .5" makes all the difference ;) ) My shoes have got a 5" heel on, which takes me up to 6' tall  Is this too tall?
All my mates are about 5'5 - 5'7 in heels so I'm worried I'm going to look gigantic next to them, and look stupid.
I've just read this post back, and I assume because I'm that bored I'm thinking too much
Anyway, I really want to wear the shoes so I suppose I have to put up with the height problem!
    Answer:
Wear them! I'm 5'9" and I love my heals!
    Answer:
head up high, shoulders back and as long as you feel confident you'll look fab.
nothing worse than stooping, almost apologetic stance, for being "too tall"
i'm 5ft8.5 and wear heels (well, do when i'm not pg!) and i actually love being the tallest out! :o
    Answer:
    I'm 5'10 and wear heels.
I tend to find just because a heel is 4 inches in doesn't make me 6'2  Not sure if it's to do with the foot sloping.
I can wear 4 inch heels and be the no taller or the same height as my other half who is 6'1 :)
ETA: I went out with a group of friends once in my heels and it was rather funny because one of the guys girlfriends is not even 5ft....she looked even diddier compared to me:lol:
    Answer:
I'm a shortie at 5'2" and 3 quarters (they're important too ;) ) and I say wear them with pride. I've never minded looking short next to my taller friends.

    NO.3. ask :
    trainers in washing machine
Hi wonder if anyone has washed their trainers in their washing machine.
both my son's trainers are manky as manky can be and don't want to scrub out the dregs that have collected on the bottom of his shoes!! ie unwanted doggie presents on the pavement!
    thanks
    Answer:
I'd scrub out the doggie do otherwise it will stink out your washing machine:sick:
My dad and I have bother put our trainers in the washing machine and they have been fine. Just don't put a pair that you don't want to risk wrecking.
    Answer:
sorry meant to ask if the trainers would shrink or damage the machine and if so for the latter, anyway to get around it.
    thanks
    Answer:
Both my dad's and my trainers have both been fine :) It makes a bloody racket though:lol:
I think we washed ours on 30 or 40 degrees. To be on the safe side you could always put it on a delicate wash.
    Answer:
Thanks catwoman. Looks like i'll have to get the elbow grease out and scrub them clean myself as i'm not too keen on having a pongie washing machine lol
    cheers

    NO.5. ask :
Can anyone help me style my feet?
    Hi all,
Im a bit of a fashion lurker but actually really enjoy reading all your posts - Im just too shy to post. I wanted some advice about shoes as its one area I just completely suck at.;)
I live in a really tatty pair of trainers at the moment:o and I really want something nice. Im not good in anything with heels (unless its quite low) and tend to wear lots of skirts and boots but actually have no shoes.:o
What do you all tend to wear on your feet for casual wear?
    Answer:
Re: Can anyone help me style my feet?
I'm no good in heels either, LMH. I wore cowboy boots last night (not even a big heel) and my shins are aching this morning.
Recently, I've been wearing flat boots all the time, but I have a nice selection of ballet flats that I wear if I'm not planning on walking a lot.
    x
    Answer:
I tend to live in ballet pumps at the moment. I've got 5 pairs - most from New Look and they're just so comfy and go with everything. I also have the most fabulous pair of tan Fiorentini Baker round toe flat boots - a bit equestrian looking I suppose - and I wear those a lot with denim and cotton skirts.
    Answer:
    Hey LMH,
If you're not too keen on heels but don't want to live in boots or trainers then some flat ballet pumps would be a pretty and feminine alternative.
They are realy so versatile as they come in a range of different styles, almost endless and can be dressed up or down.
You can buy them almost anywhere from relatively cheap ones in places like New Look to the more high end of the market at www.frenchsole.com
Its definitely worth having a good look around next time you're out to see if there's any styles or colours you particularly like.
    Hope this helps!
    Lucia xxx
    Answer:
There are loads of really nice flat pumps in the shops just now.
They come in all colours and styles so they can help to dress up an outfit or keep it casual.
I am hugely guilty of buying lots of shoes:o and I can't get enough of these at the moment:)
